As someone who works in retail and often uses my phone as a customer support tool throughout the day (checking website, competitors, what a certain item is etc) there is no way i'd want a plus. Would be unable to bend down, would get in the way and probably smacked into walls, shelves and cages on a daily basis. Overall, think about your daily life, what you do and what you wear.

Well, I held true to my gut feeling and ordered a normal 7, (Matt Black 128GB) this morning, for in-store collection on the 16th. :)

What about you, did you make up your mind?

Nice! I went with silver regular 7. I think I made the right decision.....I hope...

Also torn. Ordered the 7+ but am thinking about switching.

So how would you switch? I was thinking once I get my regular 7, if I want to switch, how I would do that.

Order one phone and cancel the other.

Oddly, I have the opposite reason for going for the Plus. Im a Manager, and I reply to more emails from my phone than my laptop, so I think the bigger screen makes sense as the phone is a work tool as opposed to an accessory for me. I believe bigger is better when you are using it that hard. Plus the extra battery life counts.....

I just ordered the black iPhone 7 128 coming from a 6. When I travel I take my "real" camera along.
And being a woman the 7 + wouldn't fit in an evening bag
True, I don't play games but read a lot and for that the Kindle app on iPad mini is perfect.

I printed out again a piece of paper with a size comparison between regular and plus... the plus just seems way to big for me. Quite a shame because of the camera... but I'll get the regular 7. Order is placed, ships in 2-3 weeks wich is perfect timing with my vacation during the initial release :D

They can't cancel my pre order because it's already "preparing for shipment". I sat on phone with ATT for 2 hours to get this answer. Nothing they could do. I tried.

Order another one and sell that one. You wont have an issue.

So you are saying, outright buy iPhone 128GB, $750, the one I intended to pre order. When the iPhone 7 32GB comes in the mail on Friday, fully pay off that one, $650. And immediately sell it on craigslist?

I liked not having to pay for the entire phone through next.

Going with the larger one this time. Way too often that I wish I had a larger screen. Not too often I actually need a small phone. But if or when I do need the smaller size I'll pop my SIM card back into the 6 temporarily as its paid off and I'm keeping it as a backup.

b.c the phone is so thin, it actually does not feel that large in your pockets. It feels big when you are on the go and need to do something really fast. It is definitely not a phone you can use with 1 hand.

I did similar this morning before ordering. I got the dimensions for both, and drew them out on a piece of paper. Looking about, I realised my desk calculater was nigh on exactly the same size as the Plus, so had a play with that, tried it in my pocket, and it just felt a bit excessive.

I'm happy with my order for a stock 7 this year, but I'll no doubt go through the exact same diemma again next year, lol!

Got a 6+ two years ago for its better battery life, better camera (OIS), and better screen (higher PPI). If I were getting the new iPhone, I'd choose the 7 over the 7+. Don't use camera nearly as often as I used to and 7 camera would get the job done for me and exceptionally well. Higher PPI is nice but I probably wouldn't even notice the difference. My main reason for choosing the regular 7 over the 7+ though is comfort and usability. I use my phone mainly one-handed and let me tell you, not being able to reach more than half of the screen on the phone gets really irritating. I've held a few regular 6S iPhones and they're the perfect size in my opinion. SE is too small for me, 7+ is too big, regular 7 is just right. It's a screen that displays a lot of information but is still small enough to be comfortable and usable. Although having a larger battery is nice, I would happily trade having to charge the phone more often for a device that is much more usable and comfortable to use. Not to mention, I'd be saving $130.

I'm not even 100% sure I'm going to upgrade this year. But, I'm leaning toward switching from the 6+ and 6S+ to the regular 7 this time around if I do. The plus size just seems to be too much unrealized potential to justify its size. That big screen hasn't led to anything other than blown up apps. Very few take advantage of the bigger screen by offering more tablet-like layouts. And having 2-pane view in the stock apps hasn't really added much in my experience. The screen simply isn't big enough to make interaction anything close to using an iPad. And the landscape keyboard is really uncomfortable to type on.

Yes, the camera and battery life are better on the plus, though the improvements with the A10 processor seems to have mitigated the battery life difference somewhat. As for the camera, there is no denying the dual system on the plus is exciting. But, at the end of the day, you're still using a cell phone camera with fixed lenses and a tiny aperture and sensor. There is simply a limit to how good the pictures coming off of it can be. I would say smartphone photos have been "good enough" for me since the iPhone 5S. Having OIS now on the 4.7 inch model means it will be a great point and shoot. Will the plus version be better? Yes, but not by enough that I think I will really care. I dunno...I do hate not having "the best". But I really miss having a phone that is comfortable to use 1-handed.

I'm going to wait for reviews and camera samples before I decide for sure. But I'm leaning toward the regular 7 right now.

Having used the 6 and a 6s +. I am returning back to the smaller device after a year of owning the plus. I love the big screen but the size of it does get pretty annoying at times. I'm glad I'm moving back to the regular size :) but 5.2 would be perfect!

I have a 5s right now that I want to replace and am still undecided on size. I was convinced I wanted the plus, but day to day, the smaller one may be better since I do have an ipad mini as well...but I like the camera...but I like minimalism...but my eyes are getting middle aged...sigh. This thread is useful though, so I appreciate all of the points of view. Will probably wait until the first people have theirs and then decide

I caved and went with a 7+ in black, 256gb. If I don't get along with it, I can just return it and go with the 4.7"

I use mine with one all the time. 5'8" male. I can Swype pretty quickly one handed too. I think it has a lot to do with where you hold the phone. I hold mine on my fingers, toward the Bottom of the phone. Wrote this post with one HD same. Er one hand heh.

Using both. Subjectively, the plus seemed too big for a phone, too small for a tablet.
During work the plus was mostly a two handed affair, or a poor one handed juggler.
For Play the shirt sinker, turned into a front pocket are you happy to see me, or a back pocket liability
Formal, wearing a holster was a throw back to the days of slide rule cases or an hp35 on the belt.
Oh you must be an Engineer....
Feature driven I like the plus but more and more found myself leaving it behind and taking the 6S.

If you never had a large phone get it and report back a year from now.
This time features aside I ordered a 7. A lid for every pot.

I'll be honest, I could barely understand a word of what you just said.
