Carphone Warehouse UK iPhone X Order Updates.

I think I found the reason some of us are having issues getting a clear delivery date.

On the web form when you preordered, where you select the preferred delivery date - did you remember to uncheck the 'surprise me' button?
 
Just chatted with CPW online and they said it will definitely be delivered Friday yet on Twitter said 10th.

Shows they don’t have a clue what’s going on
 
Yeah complete confusion - that said if no tracking numbers are furnished by Thursday evening, I think it’s pretty obvious they ain’t arriving on the Friday
 
My order should be arriving on the 4th so I suspect if I am lucky I will get a tracking number on Friday and good luck everyone with your CPW orders.
 
It really seems like they have no idea how much stock they are getting so theyre just saying anything
 
It’s the same every year. Resellers and carriers cannot be trusted with launch day deliveries.

Whether it’s them overselling, or Apple misleading them, I don’t know. I got burned by Vodafone last year - being told on launch day that I wasn’t getting my phone - by which point everywhere else had sold out.
 
Twitter have said 10th November to me.

Same as everyone else - 3rd November in email, 10th November on Twitter and 17th November on the online chat.

I wish I didn't cancel my day off to play COD now ha!
 
Anyone else who has been told 3rd to 10th had there account charges in full?

I didn't think they'd charge until closer to the 10th if I wasn't getting it on the 3rd

It’s a practice some companies use - taking full payment before the product is even in their hands to ship. Personally I despise the practice.
 
What if the 3rd November delivery date is just for store collection? I remember when I placed the order with them, there was no option for home delivery, only in store collection. So I’m hoping Friday I get the email to go pick it up.
 
I choose store collection too as it has proved more successful over the years for me, and not just with CPW
 
They've taken the £249.99 from my account.

Twitter have just confirmed that the 17th November date given via the online chat is for new orders. I'm not sure if that's been mentioned in here.

Really? Dang, I chose delivery. I truly hope I get it on the 3rd. Not knowing what date it will be is starting to become physically painful
 
I changed from store to delivery as they had an issue with the store address on the system and it was going to North Acton. Facebook chat have also said this.

Beginning to wonder if CPW have placed the order with apple for X stock and know they are getting stock 3rd 10th and 17th but don't know how many they are getting on each date.. would make sense based on them being unable to confirm an exact date for each order.

One thing to bare in mind is that CPW ran a deposit scheme where you pay £25 for pre register for the iPhone X then get £50 back when you buy it.. people who used this have priority so if your order is getting bumped it may be due to people who took this up getting ahead of you.

VERY LARGE pinch of salt, BUT, I’ve been told mine is being picked tonight and should be delivered to store tomorrow. Still skeptical however...

I did it for a 'contract' phone - CPW do SIM only contracts with discounts off phones if you buy at the same time - flagged as 'up to £100 when bought with a SIM'

So I have a £20pm 20GB VF SIM only contract with CPW, which gets me the iphone X for £964, plus the extra £25 off deposit scheme so £939 total.

Considering I was going to buy that exact £20pm SIM only contract with VF anyway, thats pretty good. All that needs to happen now is it actually gets delivered.


(this isn't the one I got my third email about though - that was a pure SIM free for pick up in store)
