I’ve already tried this and it’s still not working... it disappears very fast from the screen I can’t even select search on screen to pair with my iPhone... Although my car is a model listed on website maybe its system is incompatible.

I have a Peugeot 3008 and a DS7 Crossback (same system). The device works well on both. You could try to open the « apps » menu (button with the four squares) and select « CarPlay » from there.
I don’t remember if CarPlay is optional for the 3008. Can you make CarPlay work when you plug your iPhone directly to the car ?

Just gave this a go on iOS 14 on cplay2air and seems to be working!

Took a couple attempts to get it to connect but I’m not sure if an issue or because it’s the first time I’ve tried using a different phone to my primary one (still on iOS 13) with the cplay2air.

Dont subscribe to Apple Music on this device but have tested radio (is tunein radio via music app new?) and this is working fine with sound. Tested a quick phone call and this worked fine to.

You beat me to it! Everything worked as expected on my system. The Siri graphic was also changed to match what it looks like in iOS.

On Amazon *paid* reviews, I do think there is a difference between sending someone a product at a discount and asking for a review vs. the manufacturer itself blatantly asking for 5's for a 50% discount on Facebook. Also, those reviews that are solicited are noted as such. Yes, I also put reviews into perspective, including the bone crushing killers. They are considered outliers.

I'm glad the product was developed too. I am one of the lucky ones. Again though, most consumers aren't watching this thread to reap the benefits of our experience. So many people bought the CP2A over the Carlinkit directly from the website and shipped from China. CP2A was more appealing to most. The website reads like a US company without spelling or grammatical errors. When that product didn't work for people, most were reluctant to ship it back to China at their cost plus a restocking fee. What I am saying is both companies (I would argue the same company with one selling at a premium) sold a lot of units under somewhat false pretenses to the unassuming consumer.

I'll eat crow if this product is still usable in 4 months (iOS14).

Time to eat some crows, The dongle works flawlessly with ios14 beta 1

Not the gold master though. Kidding.

Gladly! Great to hear everyone. What’s up with the wallpaper thing on CarPlay? Is that an iOS 14 thing? I don’t have that option on my CarPlay.

I’d love to try 14 beta but I need my phone to work right for work. Definitely not a first beta. I used to be all over the betas on both my Mac and phone.

Yes, wallpaper is an iOS 14 thing... one of the few enhancements announced for CarPlay.

Nice looking forward to jazzing up the Maserati screen.
This year the public beta is in July. If you can wait that would be a great time to jump on. The quality of this release is already miles ahead of iOS13. Beta one feels like it's ready to ship. I can't wait to see how much better they can make it before the fall.

Now you’ve got me interested. Tempted to download that developer client.

Yes it works when I plug my iPhone directly to the car...

I’m really eating crow. Connection to the dongle is much faster. No audio split second drops and the rare occasion after a stop and start where the device has connection issues, a quick WiFi on and off through control panel makes it connect in a split second. This would sometimes require and unplug and plug.

Jesus Christ, no lag on changing tracks! Even the interface on my touch screen is crazy fast. Wow.

Is this because of iOS 14 or the a June update? What version firmware, what dongle, OTA or USB? What car on please.

Thanks

It's all related to iOS14. I am running 1.22 and, especially now, have no plans to "upgrade" firmware. Everything is working perfectly. I will say, that iOS14 is friggin fast on my 11 Pro Max. Not sure if this contributes to track changes being instant. I honestly thought track change lag was something we were all going to have to deal with.

See, I told you :) I can't believe how much faster the dongle connects. The audio quality is better. My only issue is the one that I had before. I have the 5-min audio distortion bug. That's still there. A Carplay2 Air FW update could fix that at any time. And then I would be perfect. By the way I have an 11 Pro Max as well. It's flying.

You were right! Here I am dooms daying the death of these dongles with iOS14 and it actually improved the experience. The lack of lag changing songs is really what I am pumped about the most. I will have to crank up some songs during my lunch time drive to see if the quality is better.

Did they remove the ota update? I'm not getting it on my device 🤔

It wasn't there for me when I checked yesterday evening. If it matters, I have the older style Carlinkit.

Bit the bullet and flashed the 6.17 update via USB just now--thankfully it seems to have flashed OK, but haven't tested it in-car yet.

I know there is an update from 6.19, but @manjinjorgo, my fellow C-Max owner in here, said 6.17 is working well for him so I decided to go with that. The 6.06 build definitely seemed slower to connect than 3.04, so I hope 6.17 is better in that regard.

Edit: I'm attaching the 6.17 file in case it disappears off Carlinkit's site. PLEASE DO NOT FLASH IT (OR ANY OTHER FIRMWARE) UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO TAKE THE RISK OF BRICKING YOUR ADAPTER. NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW WHY SOME ADAPTERS BRICK DURING FIRMWARE UPDATES--IT MIGHT JUST BE RANDOM CHANCE, SO CAVEAT EMPTOR.

Gah! I’ve only got iOS on a test device at the moment not one I usually use for calls / music etc but this is tempting me to update my main device!! Really good to hear iOS 14 has improved things, the music lag is always something which wasnt a big deal to me but it just annoyed me as I knew it was there!

I'll return my bricked device by today, it was a real mess to find an appropriate delivery service with tracking for a cheap price, then do some customs declaration, after they got my bricked carplay2air adapter, i'll get a "new" one.... hopefully everything will work fine :)

Is anyone running 2020-06-19 that flashed via USB and all working ok? Mine has never worked on a Vauxhall but live in hope eventually does someday.....it’s an original CarLinkIt.

**edit**There’s a new 2020-06-24 update on the download link as well.

Anyone check on OTA to see if appears and what fixes are please?

Thanks
