Where “exactly” is it saying device not supported? Head unit? Phone?
We need more info here.....at the Bluetooth pairing, or the WiFi connection?

I need a device that can be updated before I can think about that joy.
So yours doesn’t display on the screen either? Just the red light? What vehicle? Also did it work before the update?
have you got access to any other car that has CarPlay?
Mine displays nothing on the screen and only gives me a red light. It has never done anything.
I’m trying to use it in a 2018 Subaru Outback. Before I bought it, I was told it would work and it didn’t. I was then told to wait for an update. I’ve attempted to update it with no luck, despite trying 15 different FAT32 formatted usb drives. I was told my “return period” would be extended, but get to response when I say I want to return it.
I’ll try to track down another car to test it in - the only other car I have readily accessible came with wireless CarPlay.
The only time I’ve seen that is in a Mitsubishi Outlander. It doesnt detect the dongle.
so if you’ve never updated it, presumably it’s still on 2019.11.11.
really need to test it in a Kia/Volvo/vw where it’s confirmed working to see if your actual dongle is faulty.
have you tried downloading the usb image from somewhere else? I mean physical location like work? Only reason I ask is a member on here had the exact same problem, tried a number of sticks, but after I emailed him the image...same one from the link...it worked first go. Maybe something interfering with it like antivirus or something.
It’s never worked. Was told it would after this “big” update. It’s a Vauxhall.
Last time the CarPlay icon would blip on the screen every now and then.

which is it? We need to identify what firmware you are running?
Eventually I got an update to work on the old firmware.
Today I was sent the CarLinkIt link for the new firmware.
Updated, plugged in, was 2-3 mins and then both red and blue LED came on as they said would so I presumed the update worked.
Plugged into car and I’m getting nothing. Tried restart of iPhone, car, dongle etc. But nothing.
I’m presuming the update has took as had 1 red LED and then both after 2-3mins.

Yes, sounds like you have the new update, but you don’t even see the screen that says connect to bluetooth?

I think the key thing to establish here is both Mrmister and sb2002 are showing the same issues as I see in the Mitsubishi. So to help with this has any other member on here got the dongle to work with either a Vauxhall or a Subaru? (I am of course assuming that both the Vauxhall and Subaru are fitted with factory CarPlay)

Nope don’t see anything. My screen says “projection” and if plug in iPhone the icon would change to a CarPlay icon. It does nothing. The red LED is on solid.
I was OP so had this a long while now, before firmware the CarPlay icon used to flash on sometimes
It occurs after the bluetooth connection. I unpaired the phone and paired again and it says the same thing.
all The Bluetooth connection does is tell the iPhone the WiFi ssid and password of the dongle. Bluetooth disconnects and the phone should connect to the WiFi. do you see any WiFi networks on your iPhone when the dongle is connecting...... I assume you are running iOS 13?

Sounds to me like it just doesn’t like Vauxhall’s. we need confirmation from another Vauxhall owner if they see the same symptoms.
As I’ve mentioned many times before, it just doesn’t work full stop on Mitsubishi. CPLAY2air are aware of this.
we know it works well with Kia/Volvo/VW/Audi/Hyundai/Peugeot
we know it DID work with JEEP and FORD but not anymore
at the moment, no one has successfully confirmed a Vauxhall or a Subaru, SEAT or a Mitsubishi Or Jaguar

Well I just updated again. I know have 2019.12.11.2032. Update ran and said it was successful However it would not connect to bluetooth. I deleted it from my iPhone and it would not show up. Waited 10 minutes and tried again and it then paired again. It is working.
But real question is will it re connect on it own later today. I have had to unplug it from usb and then reconnect to usb to get it working each time. I hope this fixes it or it will be going back to china.

So when you first plug dongle in CarPlay should start? I still don’t know what it should do initially on mine.

No. When you plug it in you should see a screen that shows connecting... in a bar at the bottom. This is where it finds your iPhone before showing CarPlay. I don’t have a screenshot unfortunately

Just be careful here...it could be your iPhone not letting go of your home WiFi. For a proper test....drive away from any know WiFi networks. Then try powering car on off. Bet it connects every time. Unfortunately apple have no concept of WiFi priority.

Just seen the video on CarLinkIt website. As you say one new firmware on, plug in and show a connecting screen. I don’t.
It’s just a very expensive brick for me still....
