I think I’ll test drive a Volvo to see if my Carplay2air functions.

You will want one, everyone who’s been in mine loves it. Given I have had jaguars and Land Rovers the Volvo is so much superior.

New version this morning 2019.12.13.1403

It again says do not update, but i never do what I'm told so I did it.

Works fine for me, connects quick.

@mikejd1, as yours still doesn't work, I'd try it, but its up to you. I take no responsibility!!

Mine done too, need to test to see if they have been able to add the in dash info and steering wheel controls but they aren’t a biggie for me just a nice to have.

Do phone controls work in Volvo since the firmware update?

For those with Volvos, did the update improve functionality? I’m wondering if it is worth the hassle to update the firmware since everything is working well before.

Thanks!

@D3ggy...my steering wheel controls work..When playing music I can skip tracks, adjust volume, pause...

They didn’t work before the update and still don’t (or at least didn’t yesterday) it’s worth the upgrade though as it connects quicker, sound quality is better and its more responsive on screen.

I use Siri for most things so not too worried about the controls.

I’ll update this morning. I did the “do not update “ yesterday for 12.12 and it did nothing to fix the Jeep. So not really holding out hope for anything. What do I have to lose anyway? It’s already a $160 brick.

Update: 12:13 update did nothing for Jeep. As expected. Nothing to see here. Move along. I’ve even given up emailing them at this point.

OK everyone, I figured out the jeep problem. So to those with jeeps on this forum I’m going to post a video and the steps to show had a make it work every single time. Then I’m going to let the seller know exactly what’s going on. There is still one problem, when CarPlay in her face does come up on the screen you cannot touch the screen with one finger you have to have one finger on the screen and then tap with another finger to make it work

Has anyone actually driven around to validate whether the GPS is working properly? The wireless CarPlay specs require a speed sensor and GPS hardwired. Obviously, the CarPlay2Air works a bit differently so as long as the phone is kept somewhere where it can pick up the GPS signal, I assume it will be fine.

The speed sensor and GPS are part of the vehicle...not the dongle...and yes it works fine.

OK, here we go.

sound wasnt working for me on youtube, not sure why...let me know if you experience the same sond works fine on the actual video on my phone

Cheeky gits sent me an email this morning asking me to review the product, they have ignored all emails asking for a refund though!

Still no changes with Ford on today's version. Not really into a janky device that has to be constantly messed with to work, I wish I could just have the version back before this "new system" as it worked fine. Probably going to return mine if they don't have it fixed by next week.

Still blank screen on mine.

Can connect to the WiFi, disclosed the new update “don’t update” unplugged dongle, and same, nothing.
