CarPlay CarPlay adapter to convert to wireless CarPlay?

Just seen the video on CarLinkIt website. As you say one new firmware on, plug in and show a connecting screen. I don’t.

It’s just a very expensive brick for me still....
You really need to test it on a different vehicle known to work. That will confirm the dongle is ok and it’s just needing the appropriate firmware to fix it for your Vauxhall.

No. When you plug it in you should see a screen that shows connecting... in a bar at the bottom. This is where it finds your iPhone before showing CarPlay. I don’t have a screenshot unfortunately

Just be careful here...it could be your iPhone not letting go of your home WiFi. For a proper test....drive away from any know WiFi networks. Then try powering car on off. Bet it connects every time. Unfortunately apple have no concept of WiFi priority.

This is the connecting screen

Ford worked in “Mode 3” before these recent updates. Now it connects but the screen is stuck (pixelated) - just like it was in “Mode 1/2” before.
So...Ford is NOT fixed as claimed in the second last update...:-(

Same here. This is extremely interesting though, randomly on my jeep now in the latest version only sometimes does the CarPlay interphase now come back up. But I can’t touch the screen I have to actually use the tunb knob to enforce action/touch. But I haven’t figured out the pattern of getting the actual CarPlay interface to show. No clue what is causing it to show but I definitely lost touch controls.

Interesting. So you are now intermittently seeing the CarPlay interface?
ive just been googling pixellated CarPlay screen and there is actually quite a lot.
rebooting the iPhone is an expected...but popular resolution.

It’s happened twice so far. There is zero pattern causing this, one time was on phone before I got into the car I started the car the dongle loaded connected to CarPlay all of a sudden my phone call was on CarPlay I hung up the phone and I as I was driving I realize looking at the screen the CarPlay inter face was on but I couldn’t touch it.

Now. Back to this

I would try the call thing again. So call EE or Vodafone customer services....takes ages before you speak to anyone, and power the dongle whilst on the call. If it repeatedly works that way, that may help the developer finding the issue.

OK, jeep folks here we go. I found some sort of temporary fix I think. What I did was went into the Uconnect home screen went to the projection manager and I unchecked screen mirroring and I unchecked to use CarPlay on my phone. The dongle disconnected itself I pulled the dongle out I turned everything back on and I checked my phone that I plug the dong le go back in and there we go the CarPlay in her face now shows. However the touchscreen controls to not work I have to use a knob to select anything which is completely pointless.

Quick update; you can touch the screen but requires to place two fingers on the screen. One to just sit there and the other to make the action.?!! Wtf!!! Lol this is crap

Morning. There is an update this morning but it says on it internal release do not update, so I’m steering clear of this build.

It may be however that any one having issues may like to try since there is little to lose.

Update on mine.

Nothing shown in screen. Eventually seen a WiFi with name of car. Connected uses the password 12345678 and it connected. Went to 192.168.50.2 and seen the page that as posted here.

Said there was an update so tried and got to 100%. Rebooted by unplugging etc but still nothing on screen.

So this to me proves that the dongle works and it took the initial firmware update from the USB pen. But still doesn’t work on my car as shows nothing on screen. Now and then CarPlay icon flashes onto screen but won’t stay there. Same issue as before.....

Yup, as mentioned previously, I personally think the firmware just isnt good enough to work with Vauxhall yet. Cant imagine many vauxhalls in china for them to test it on....

I'd bet if you plugged it in to a volvo, it would work 100%.

Interestingly my wife has a Volvo XC90. Works perfect. I WANT IT BACK FOR MY JEEP!!! 😂

I thought of that but it is also happening when i am not at home. I am waiting to hear from Michael if they can fix this. Right now I have a dispute going on but aside from having to always reconnect to usb it does work. Be nice if it had a switch on it.

Given up any hope of getting it to work in the Jaguar. All I get is a solid red led light, nothing shows up on the car screen or the phone's bluetooth or wifi.
