That‘s normal. It connects to the WiFi of the dongle and there is no internet connection.
So with respect to that, how are firmware updates completed via the IP address provided? The manual/website suggests it should be done that way and not manually. I also received the attached from customer service as a way to try to resolve the issue, again this did not work

While connected to the dongle your phone is "supposed" to use your cellular connection for internet access. That's why I asked about WIFI Assist. When launching the 192.168.50.2 page you're connecting over wifi and retrieving updates over cellular. The phone routes your traffic accordingly and it should be transparent.

Perhaps try to disable/enable WIFI assist if not done already. Another possibility would be to reset Network Settings if you're comfortable dealing setting things up after.

Great thanks for the explanation, I’ll try this

The 9-23 firmware posted by Wallytax is the only one so far I have gotten to work with the Infotainment 3 unit in my 2019 Blazer. FYI for anyone having trouble with newer Chevy vehicles. It also reconnects without having to unplug and replug. Thanks!
Unreal! I also have a 2019 Chevy Blazer and have struggled for months. After seeing your post I successfully flashed the 9-23 firmware posted by Wallytax. It connected to my Blazer on the first attempt with no issues. Curious to see how well it boots up and connects after stops, particularly short stops like filling up gas or running into a store for a few minutes. Fingers crossed this will FINALLY work consistently and reliably on Chevy Infotainment 3. I have CPlay2air device.

When running Google Maps and sitting on the iPhone I made a comparison.
Firmware 0917-> No location service, Google Maps does not work. When putting the iPhone into the console, it works
Firmware 0804 -> Full location service even when sitting on the iPhone or putting it into a pocket.

I can confirm the 0804 uses the car GPS. With 0917 I had lost tracking in CarPlay in my underground parking while this was working on the car navi. I've downgraded using VLud's 19102020 and tracking underground works again, note that this does not work on the phone alone confirming the car GPS is used by CarPlay.

Thanks to @VLud and @fatalerr for resolving the 0804 downgrade!

I have a 2020 Blazer and I can't get it to work at all with 9-23 loaded. It acts like it wants to connect, the icon flashes green, then goes back to the grey carplay icon. I also get a message on the car screen that says "Plug in supported phone to lanuch Apple CarPlay" I just went out, told the phone to forget the bluetooth connection and started over. Same issues.

I’m going to try downgrade to 0804 - am currently on 2109 and it’s definitely using the phones GPS, hopefully am able to downgrade!

thanks for your job

No bt and wifi when revert to 04082020 because /usr/sbin/ARMadb-driver need liblzo2.so and liblzo2.so.2
Code:
01-02 12:00:08.333662 AM [CheckCarType] _SetBoxBtName = MERCED-234B is same as old file, not need update
ssid=MERCEDESCA
01-02 12:00:08.367717 AM [CarPlayServer] Start ARMadb-driver!
sps->vui.i_max_dec_frame_buffering: 1
/tmp/ARMadb-driver: error while loading shared libraries: liblzo2.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

These files deleted after 17092020, the new version ARMadb-driver don't need these files. Files deleted by .detele, i found that from the diff 04082020 to 17092020.
Bash:
bogon:Firmware lujunda$ diff -r U2W_Update_04082020 U2W_Update_17092020 |grep Only
Only in U2W_Update_17092020/script: .delete

I solve the problem by use U2W.sh to replace /usr/sbin/ARMadb-driver to new version(17092020).
Bash:
#U2W.sh
mv /mnt/UPAN/ARMadb-driver /usr/sbin/ARMadb-driver

hi Fataler, Do you have Mercedes car?

You might try starting from scratch. Reset your car radio and delete the dongle from your phone and such. This will force it all to restart the entire pairing process and maybe that will get you going. The key is resetting the car radio defaults for this stuff. I had an issue with mine once and this is what I did to fix it. It is a 2019 traverse, so slightly different but still worth a shot imho.

This unit is bugging the hell out of me.

Using an iPhone updated to latest IOS and with a Mercedes A Class 2017

Since getting the unit I have an issue whereby it connect successfully then after around 30secs, it disconnects, the process then repeats. I have been unable to update the firmware due to not being able to access the IP address via the connected WiFi.

The second issue I encountered is no Internet at all, when then connection is eventually established, the WiFi symbol has an exclamation point through it telling me there is no internet connection.

I have tried multiple times to disconnect, forget devices, reconnect, forget WiFi, do it away from home so no other WiFi interferes, turned Bluetooth off of my Apple Watch so it doesn’t interfere. Finally I have downloaded the latest firmware in an effort to try that and placed on a usb to update, it has completed but still the issue remains.

Whole situation is crazy lol, Am I meant to be connected to WiFi at all, why does it connect and disconnect?
Hi James, do you try New custom firmware of Vlud for try resolve bugs on your mercedes A class?

hmmm. Bummer!
When I went to the car this morning the dongle was showing a red light only, and my phone didn’t connect.

Whatever I tried there was no reaction from the dongle on the car display. Couldn’t even get it to re-pair.
It was reacting like before the manual upgrade. 😕

So Citroen C3 still not working.

So I gave up getting the dongle to work in my Citroen, so instead I have replaced the car. :)

I now have a Suzuki Vitara where the dongle is working quite well.

I do have one issue though. If I am listening to music and skip tracks, around 50% of the time the dongle will disconnect, and I have to unplug it and plug it back in. Then it continues.
It appears that if I wait around 30 seconds into a track before skipping the failure rate drops, but it could also just be a coincidence.

The dongle is running version 2020.09.01.1253 manually updated as described on the first post of the thread.

Is there a fix for this in later firmwares?

I don't recall anyone mentioning that particular glitch before. But I also don't recall if there have been other Suzuki owners posting here. I would say this is almost definitely a vehicle-specific thing.

In terms of troubleshooting it, have you tried to see if it happens regardless of what method you use to change tracks? Try using the steering wheel buttons, buttons (if any) on the head unit, touchscreen, etc. If you have an Apple Watch you should also be able to change tracks using that.

Also test skipping back to see if the same behavior happens with that versus skip forward.

I think the firmware has some custom code for interacting with the steering wheel buttons in various vehicle makes/models. If the disconnection bug only happens when using the vehicle's hard buttons then that means there's probably a bug in that code for your vehicle. You can help Carlinkit fix it by taking a short video showing what happens when you skip tracks. You can post it on youtube and send the link to sales@carlinkit.com. They'll probably also want you to upload a log file, which you can do from your phone while the Carplay interface is active (use Safari to go to 192.168.50.2).

You should click the (i) next to the WiFi network and click "Forget Network"
The iPhone is not supposed to show as connected to the dongle's WiFi.
(The dongle does connect via WiFi but in some specific CarPlay-way, not as a regular WiFi network)

Best is probably to forget it both in WiFi and Bluetooth and then re-pair the phone.

Anyone using a 2019 Audi(Q7 for me but any Audi for reference would help) not have audio delays when making phone calls? I have about a second delay from when I talk to when the person on the other end can hear me. I'm wondering if I need to have Audi do an update to the MMI. If you are not having these delays can you post your MMI version please.

Thank you for the good ideas. Will troubleshoot further. It definitely happens when skipping forward on the carplay screen. Maybe I used the buttons on the steering wheel when I brought the failure rate down. 🤔 I cannot remember.

Hi,
manual update to the latest custom firmware (1910) works, thanks to
@VLud and @fatalerr.

But doesn‘t fix the problem with my merc A-Class from 2016. Still disconnects after a while...
Anybody a solution for that?

Glad to hear it connected. Keep us updated! Since I flashed 9-23 mine has connected 100% of the time so far to my 2019 Blazer with Chevy Infotainment 3, both after short and long stops. Granted I’ve only been able to test is about 4 or 5 times over the last 2 days.

Same here my wife cla250 disconnects still...I think Vlud is right..it seems like when it gets overloaded using an app it ends up booting me out and restarts...maybe power issue? But I tried using a usb power splitter from both ports to power the kit and it still booted me out

Just wanted to provide an update from my experience in the hopes it helps others with this.

Vehicle Details: 2016 Ford F150 XLT
Does adapter work: No
Adapter:
CPLAY2air - USB-A
Shipped Firmware version: 2020.07.28.1104
Upgrade Firmware tested: 2020.09.23.0109
Additional vehicle notes: Updated Ford OEM USB Hub with Carplay compatible part number back in 2016/17. Have been using successfully for wired CarPlay 3+ years.
Additional Steps taken: Deleted all Carplay devices from Stereo, unpaired bluetooth, disconnected WiFi. Tried both USB-A ports. Upgraded firmware as above. Device never comes up on head unit at all.

I know @Chevytwonova got things to work with his 2019 F150 so not sure what the delta is between our setups.

@VLud I tried most of the firmwares on Carlinkit CPC200-U2W-Plus for my 2018 Honda Accord Touring. But none of them work. When I insert the Carlinkit, my Head unit detects a Carplay device and asks me to enable carplay. There is nothing after that. No BT, no WiFi and no devices connected in the Carplay devices list.

Let me know if you can help with custom firmwares to have Wireless Carplay with Carlinkit and Honda Accord.

Thank you?
I'm following along hoping to get my Honda Accord Touring to work
