I added images on the repo there is an official rollback release (2020.08.04), then you can flash 2020.10.28

I also created a custom firmware based on this new version (2020.10.28), available here:

(Rollback to 2020.08.04 Custom FW or official before)

@VLud -- what does your custom firmware do? Couldn't find anything about it on the github. Is it possible for us to modify or get rid of all the boot screen and "searching", etc. The text/color looks very cheap and would rather it silently just boot once everything is setup. Only show something if it errors after initial boot up.

If the one on the video works, you should see the Developer Menu in Settings, but you dont have to change anything.
The aim is to replicate what Chrishansellis did to make his device work.

yes, that's how it behaves. One time I got on my vehicle and waited for Carplay to come on, but the headunit just shows the Carlinkit menu and was trying to connect to my iPhone, thats when I realized that my iPhone has it's BT turned off.

Got into dev mode, messed about in menus, not changing anything.

Deleted everything related to CarPlay, BT etc on car and iPhone.

Plugged in dongle, nothing. Plugged in cable to dongle, nothing except it popped up on car CarPlay icon, pressed and it said to activate it, pressed ok, up popped setup screen, then it quit. Nothing else after.

I found my GPS signal to be bad for the whole journey. I also noticed that the problem didn’t occur on 8/4. I should take a look at the log file.
Mine seems ok on the latest - I wish there was a reliable way to work out if the car is providing the gps or not - I think it is for me but I can’t be 100% sure!

This would be good - even if it could have a slightly more apple oem look but not sure if changing that is possible!

Well, I tried the 10-28 firmware with my older Mazda Connect system. Worked fine the first day, and now the Carlinkit unit is rebooting constantly after 30 seconds/1 minute of operation (CarPlay will come up, connect, start streaming, and after 30 seconds or so, the Carlinkit unit reboots). I've tried deleting the phone from the Carlinkit, deleting the Carlinkit from the phone, rebooting the phone, and rebooting the Mazda Connect - same results.

New to the wireless CarPlay dongle arena, I've been using wired CarPlay in my Audi A4 for ages, but would like to get a wireless dongle, I found this one on eBay. Does it look the real deal? Are there any red flags I should look out for? Thanks

That might be a case of the blank/black screen that others have encountered.

Anyways, after the carlinkit setup screen "quits", is the Carplay icon on your headUnit "active"? what happens when you tap on it?

I don't know how your headunit behaves when carplay is active, but on my headunit there is a "projection" icon which changes to "Carplay" icon or "AndroidAuto" icon depending on which compatible device is connected.

I found that sitting on my phone caused the GPS to completely freeze. I think I'll roll back to 8/4, since at least GPS works. I still have problems with occasional black screen, and Carlinkit connecting to randomly to either my or my wife's phone (doesn't reliably connect to the last connected phone).

I am trying to make adapter working with Skoda Kodiaq 2020. Head unit is MIB2. I suppose the same as in Volkswagen Tiguan.
It works only one time after updating the firmware from USB. Everything is smooth, I am able to pair iPhone 5SE with the device and use CarPlay. BUT a bit later the same day it stops working. I see 'Use a Bluetooth connection ... Or connect with USB' message on head unit screen, and there is no bluetooth nor wifi connections visible on the phone. When the adapter operates normally I see SKODA-SomeLetters instead of '...' in 'Use a Bluetooth connection' message.
If I connect the device to USB power adapter then the led is red, and there is no wifi network to go to 192... and update the firmware.
Once I update the firmware using USB stick everything starts working again. But only until next connection.
I tried 2020.08.04, 2020.10.28, custom 2020.10.28, and the firmware which the seller sent me. Everything is the same: works once, then no connection, no bluetooth, no wifi.
Any ideas to try?

Did you disconnect the Bluetooth connection to your car (Skoda hands-free car kit)?

This must not be used if you want to use Carplay.

Yes, I tried that. I even tried disabling bluetooth in head unit. Same problem.
The problem is that when it stops working I don't see adapter wifi network even at home, when I connect adapter to USB power supply.

Mine is same, normal icon with no CarPlay says “projection”. This changes to a CarPlay icon when it detects an iPhone.

When the dongle setup screen quits, it goes back to the projection icon again. Then it cycles whereby the CarPlay icon pops up for a split second, tap it if your quick, then see the dongle setup screen, before quitting back, and seeing the projection icon again.

But this seems to be the old 2020-08-04 image ...
Yes, the version from 2020.11.10 has now been deleted from the server. That has happened several times. Then the new version is back a few hours later.
Update: Now the new version is available again.

Sorry, for yours it will be - hold the home and back button and then press power.

Yeh I just randomly pressed all, and got into dev mode eventually!!

Went into menus etc, just looking about. Tried dongle again and nothing!

Same problem as always had....when the dongle setup screen pops up I can see 2 iPhones, one is iPhone 11 and another says iPhone/phone I think. I wouldn’t mind deleting them and starting again, but obviously can’t as can’t press them as it disappears before can.

I was thinking about getting a dongle for my 2016 Mazda CX 9 but after seeing all the problems people are having with these products I think I’ll be staying away. Am I wrong?
