Have you updated to the latest firmware?

Not yet. Still waiting for the link. I have, however, discovered that I can in fact access my Apple Music library and stream it to the car, but only if I turn the iPhone’s Cellular Data setting to “on”. However, I do not want to use my cell phone’s LTE 4G data for music streaming, as the phone has a limited data plan. I would like to be able to stream my Apple Music library through the adapter from the car’s Internet Wi-Fi hotspot, as the car has an unlimited data plan from a different carrier. For some reason, this does not work as it does when the phone is hardwired directly to the USB port.

That’ll never work on wireless CarPlay as it needs to connect to the dongle using WiFi so it can’t use a WiFi hotspot or any other WiFi for data . Cellular is the only option for your smartphone to stream.

Ah, that was what I was afraid of. I had hoped that the adapter could somehow access the data from the USB port. Sigh. Back to my trusty wired connection, I guess.

CarPlay2Air user here.

Does anyone know of a fix the audio latency/lag?
Running the latest firmware available.

everything works pretty good in my 2018 Audi RS3 Saloon/Limousine.

(song appears in virtual cockpit, steering wheel buttons function inc. Siri, connect speed is quite good - since updating). Just phone calls seem very problematic and seem very laggy, skipping tracks seems to take around 4 seconds too.

currently they seem to be ignoring my requests for a return - not holding my breath but I bought via PayPal for this reason.

Give them time. At least yours works...unlike others on here.
they are constantly working on firmware and all these returns and complaints don’t help....

Call me crazy, but I don’t see why I should have to pay for a premium product that doesn’t work?

Looks like they have spun up another website/brand too... wirelesscarplay
You seem to have a very strange definition of “it doesn’t work”. It certainly works - you just have some minor issues.
i would say not being able to answer a phone call a pretty major issue - that’s just me tho.

simply put. The product doesn’t work as advertised - why should people have to wait for updates that may/may not ever turn this product into a fully working product?

Who said it was premium? It’s clearly Chinese and not from Apple.
Just because it’s not Apple doesn’t mean it’s a premium product. It’s priced as at a premium.

Lol. If this was sold by Apple then you would see a premium price!!!
If it was via Apple it probably went through some QA and justified some of an uplift in price.
I have many Apple products and Audi charge a premium to service the car etc etc.

Even if you don’t describe it as a premium product (I would argue it’s priced as one) - it’s still a product that doesn’t justify its cost, as such. I want to return it as per the description on the website. Something everyone is entitled to do.

Ok think of it this way then. Ever thought Audi haven’t added wireless CarPlay because they discovered lag in the phone calls? You blame the dongle when it could well be the kit in the Audi. I get no lag at all in the Volvo.

I must have missed the part on the product description where it’s says “Change tracks in less than a second”.

Enjoy your USB cable - because right now there’s no other alternative.

Works via wired carplay ok.

if indeed Audi is the ‘fault’ then the car should not be supported. if that was the case I wouldn’t have issue.
However in my case the car IS supported. As such I expect it to function correctly.

Changing tracks isn’t the issue. Phone calls are. Changing tracks is an inconvenience.

The group of people on here are dedicated to helping the manufacturer fix these issues. If it’s something you can’t deal with then yes. Return it. He will get back to you eventually but understably very busy. Doing 2 firmware releases a day including weekends trying to help us.

Because there’s latency in the phone call??? There’s significant latency in ALL mobile phone calls but nobody complains.

Well maybe others can actually find these posts useful to avoid buying the product for an Audi RS3/A3 until the problems are fixed as it does not function correctly - even if it says it’s supported. If you guys want to beta test a product... rock on. Support still haven’t even acknowledged the fault.

I use it with a3 but don’t have Audio info in cockpit. Which software are you using ?

Very latest. - does your audio seem to lag too?

“Very latest” changes hour by hour on this thing!

What specific version are you running?

What year of RS3 is it?

What version of MMI are you running?

Hopefully we’ll have more info to compare then... especially as I don’t get track names on VC in my S4 yet :-(
