Nope...: only been trying for 14 months ha ha.

I want to find another car, plug in dongle to delete the iPhones on it, then start from scratch again.

I’ve just updated to newest firmware as I can connect using my iPhone to it, so it’s on 2020-11-10.
Put your iPhone in Airplane mode, then when CarPlay starts up you should stay on the initial dongle screen. From there and with the latest firmware I was able to delete the old iPhone per the instructions of select the unwanted iPhone, long press then press on the Delete option.

Hope this helps...

Today I wanted to upgrade my Carlinkit 2.0 USB-C to 2020-11-10 via OTA. After 2 minutes I got the "Upgrade successful". Thema ist Starter again.

It works perfect but when I go to 192.168.50.2 it is possible to upgrade to 2020-11-10!? Was the update not successful? I tried it 3 times.

I had the same problem as you - it said the update is working but in fact it did not. Try the manual update method described at the top of this thread.

I have just bought Carlinkit USB-C version and updated to latest version. But only small screen is shown. Why is this happenning? I have 2020 Skoda Kamiq and wired carplay works well.

I purchased a U2W May 20'. Worked great with my 2020 Toyota Corolla. I don't know which firmware I was on... I unfortunately decided to do an OTA update to 11-10-20 which now causes the dongle to restart every 30 seconds while CarPlay is running...

I tried downgrading to 8-4-20 however it still crashes/restarts every 30 seconds or so! Any ideas? Is there any even earlier firmware I can try?

FYI the USB update technique in the first post did NOT work for me. I had to plug the dongle into wall power and wait for the red light, THEN I plugged in the USB drive into the dongle and it started flashing red/green and eventually turned solid red completing the firmware update.

You could try 10-28-20. I have a 2020 Corolla and this is working very well for me. I am using the modified version available here https://github.com/ludwig-v/wireless-carplay-dongle-reverse-engineering/tree/master/Firmware

But the official version will work just as well if you'd rather.

I don't think so, I have tried with a 2021 chevy tracker (trax) with my link 3 and no luck (works for around 10 seconds only)
I have a 2020 Silverado with Mylink 3. Just received my CPlay2air today. It has a USB A cable, but said it was USB C compatible. I have both in my Chevy. I deleted my iPhone from bluetooth just to be safe prior to plugging in the CPlay2air unit for the first time. I have a 12 Pro on 14.2.1. Used an adapter to convert USB A to C and plugged it in. It booted up in ~45 seconds with it's screen up on the Mylink. Checked my iPhone and saw the bluetooth request, selected and CarPlay came up in ~10 seconds. I shut the truck off, opened door and restarted. As soon as the Mylink came up it immediately connected to CarPlay. I did this five times and it connected every time. It also came with the latest 11-10-20 firmware.

I also tested steering wheel controls, Phone, Apple Music, Audible, Waze, Google Maps, Apple Maps and Messages. All seemed to work and respond almost as quickly as wired. Very little lag. Needless to say, I was pretty concerned after ordering and then finding this thread. I do wish I had bought the Carlink kit from Amazon instead of from CPlay2air if I have issues down the road. It came directly from China. Ordered 11/20, received 11/30.

Do you have the USB type C CPC200-U2W plus? I've tried both versions of 10-28-20 and the stupid thing still restarts every 10-30 seconds. I tried 8-4 and and 7-29 as well... Really pisses me off because it ran ok on my '20 Corolla before I stupidly updated the firmware via OTA. Guess I'll just order the same unit from Amazon and return this one in its place...

I’m looking for the same. I hear conflicting information on the 2018/2019 Honda Odyssey support. Can anyone confirm?
I have a 2019 odyssey touring. I have not gotten it to work. The menu to pair never pops up. Only the initial confirmation from the Honda head unit saying do you want this device to access CarPlay. I however did get it working on my 2019 accord.

Hey man, here's the email they sent me. Let me know if you have any issues downloading it. I backed up the file on my OneDrive as well.. :)

Code:
"Hello there,
This is the version of the firmware upgrade, you can try.
Please enter the link to download the unzipped folder and unzip the file "U2W_Update.img"

This upgrade method is different from the past, you need to pay attention to 100% follow our upgrade steps, otherwise the dongle will die.
Please refer to the attached picture.
About upgrading the dongle/power adapter to upgrade the dongle:
●Preparation materials: product dongle, power adapter, USB flash memory
●Method:
1. Please save the Auto_Box_Update.img file on a USB flash drive
(The format must be FAT32/allocation unit size 1024bit or the default value) root directory, and insert it into the USB port of the product.
2. Insert the product into the USB charger (please do not use the USB port of the car and the computer!!!)
3. Wait 2-3 minutes until the red and blue LEDs light up at the same time. Unplug the USB flash drive.
4. When upgrading the product, do not turn off the power or remove the dongle.
●For details, please refer to the attached picture.
After a successful upgrade, you can return to the car for testing.
Looking forward to your reply,
best wishes. "

To clarify, here's what my problem was with the device:
Mine wasn't completely dead. The lights would be on, "red", and it would broadcast a WiFi SSID "AutoBox-582f" (if you see it, you can connect with the Password 12345678). My problem was, the USB-C to USB-A connection didn't provide whatever the car's need to detect CarPlay, and my phone would no longer connect via Wireless CarPlay. Basically, a brick.

The update they had me do, that resolved it was an updated firmware file and then you connect the USB-C to USB-A cable to a power supply (not the stereo, I just used an iPhone 5w charger). Format a USB drive as FAT32, and place the IMG file on the USB drive. Plug in the device, let it power up (usually 30 seconds or so, until the light is red, and I saw the WiFi SSID), and then connect the flash drive. It flashed red/green a few times after connected, and then rebooted. I gave it another 5 minutes (just to be safe) before pulling the power adapter and testing on my stereo. Resolved the issue, and my stereo started to detect the device/CarPlay again.

Let me know if you have any questions.
Hello, could you explain what you meant by “connect the USB-C to USB-A cable to a power supply (not the stereo, I just used an iPhone 5w charger)”? I’m going through the exact same issue. I formatted my drive using usb c to usb a cable on my macbook, but the dongle still won’t connect when i put it in the car.

I have the Carlinkit USB C version.

Hi!
As my carplay dongle has never worked at 100% (I had rambom reboots now and then, the start up sometimes required to reboot the infotainment system etc), i decided to try the OTA update. I was updating from August or so. It requested me to update at least twice. I though that everything was OK, but now it reboots every 30s. I've tried to go back to the august firmware, but it did not work. Even if it looks like it is in a previous software, it still reboots every 30s (or so).

I've unpaired and paired the phone, and even tried updating to the latest fw and pressing the reset button. Nothing helps. Any ideas?

I'm also in the iOS 14.3 beta, if that helps.

exact same issue here on my 2020 corolla. It worked pretty ok before I tried the update, now it reboots every 30 seconds. I regret trying the OTA update.

Did you both roll back the firmware using the options menu? Thats the only method that worked for me.
