Very latest. - does your audio seem to lag too?
I just updated to the latest “don’t update” software and music info went back. Music info is freezing after like 2 minutes, so still not working.Do your music info change all the time ?
There is 2 sec delay with audio.

What is the date version of the update? I checked an hour ago and it was the latest update from yesterday

Ok so after some PMing tonight some revelations.

A user on here had the same car as me, XC40, but his dongle wouldn’t display anything at all on the screen.

Im aware that some of you have the no-screen issue, but this is what fixed it for him.

On the iPhone, Forget Bluetooth (Forget this device) pairing to the dongle, and the WiFi. (Forget this network). For good measure under Settings/General/Carplay remove the AUTOKIT. (Forget this car)

Thats the three major places associated with the dongle. Now it probably matters which order you do this.

Me, I forgot the WiFi whilst dongle was powered, then the Bluetooth, and CarPlay was empty. Just make sure all 3 are forgotten/gone.

The bottom line is...after he did this...he re paired using the normal instructions and BOOM, it was working.

If like me, you’ve plugged the dongle into other vehicles, it seems to remember things. He had plugged his into a Merc and then it no longer worked in the Volvo.

So it’s not definitive, but definitely worth a shot after EACH upgrade. It could be that even though the firmware has been updated, the phone could be remembering older settings. This might just be the secret element....but we won’t know until people try.

As mentioned, no guarantees, but it can’t hurt to try.

I’ve tried this, but thanks. The setup screen flashes on every now and then, but even with a blank screen on the car, I can connect to the WiFi and download the update....

So for me it seems it literally is a screen output problem, I was originally worried I had a duff dongle but by connecting to its WiFi I’m presuming it’s ok

Yea. So 100% issue with the keeps at least now that I figured that out is the damn new interface. Anytime the Jeep turns on and the new CarPlay2air new interface shows it fails everytime. If the new interface doesn’t show (say for example the last thing I used was the radio on the screen and not CarPlay) it works 100% of the time.

I think they need to ax the new interface and start over again.

There is a tiny hole in the dongle plastic. Possible reset hole?

anybody tried pushing it in and holding whilst powering up the dongle?

Its normally push and hold for 10 seconds at the same time as powering the dongle.

ive no idea if it is a reset hole.....just don’t blame me if it’s not and you break it.

Tried that. Not buttons in those holes.

“Very latest” changes hour by hour on this thing!

What specific version are you running?

What year of RS3 is it?

What version of MMI are you running?

Hopefully we’ll have more info to compare then... especially as I don’t get track names on VC in my S4 yet :-(
My carpaly2air version currently is: 2019.12.14.2840

It’s a 2018 MY2018 Audi RS3

MMI version is 1168

lag happens in maps, skipping tracks. Audio calls (normal voice, WhatsApp, teams) - so system wide?

New 12.16 version but did nothing to fix Jeep touch screen problems or connection when carpkay2air interface pops up

Give them time. At least yours works...unlike others on here.
they are constantly working on firmware and all these returns and complaints don’t help....

All the complaints do not hurt. They tell people looking that this product has plenty of issue. This is some thing I like to know before buying a product.

Just been to test and mine is connecting consistently although a little slower to connect than the last build, but not enough to moan about.

Mine is bricked with the new update. My phone want connect to adapter WiFi only Bluetooth.. I can’t update software either without WiFi

Have you tried 192.168.50.2 regardless? Mine did the same showing WiFi not connected but it really was.

I agree but I think he’s a one man band meaning less time developing fixes dealing with returns. I agree it’s not ideal but he’s obviously trying to fix things (or break things)

Sounds like they are going to be forced to release another USB firmware again.
I just tried another iPhone and it worked. Then I reset all network settings on my primary phone and then it worked again.

I only have issue with song information info now. Song name freezes after like 2 min and want change to new song.

What vehicle?

Hi, I have just bought this adapter. It connects fine (can play music) but the screen of the headunit is stuck on "connecting to Iphone".

I have a VW Tiguan 2018 with the Discover Media unit.

Before I ask for a refund, I want to see if this problem will be resolved by updating the firmware but I am not sure how to do this. The website does not give any info on how to update the adapter's frimware.

Can someone please help?

Sorry if this has already been covered in previous posts but this thread has 22 pages already...

Does it have a version number in the bottom right when it boots up with the words “mode” top right?

if it does, that’s the really old firmware that needs a USB Update.
