@TireGuy6 Nice work on your interface... I went a different route and matched my infotainment systems interface (font, layout, colors) -- it's very minimal and seamless. Since I have background mode enabled, I only see this screen if my phone is not with me or there is some network issue.

I tried a few USB sticks, none of them worked either. I’m not sure if I am doing correctly or if my USB sticks will work. I am using Rufus on windows to put them into fat32. What’s the correct file name for the original carplay2air? I tried all of them with no success, just a solid red light.

how do you get to that setup screen?
Same behavior as on my model.
Honestly I don’t know the concrete way that just worked for me. I think it was with cable connected iPhone. Additionally I deleted the Carlinkit from my phone.
My seller answered and wanted me to wait until tomorrow. He will come up with a solution. Will let you guys know.

Someone needs to create a document (such as a Google Spreadsheet) where people can report known their car model, Software Version and Firmware Version of their Dongle.

This will help everyone

Thanks - Just updated this
Thanks for the input, first time I have set one of these up. Everyone is welcome to add as much data as they want to - I appreciate e-mail addresses can be sensitive, and I am allowing the possibility that other forums may have similar discussions so can be referenced.

Mine finally replied it sounds like they want my order number to do a replacement, but they only offer a year warranty (which mine is over) and it costs $60 to ship it back to them anyway. Basically their crappy upgrade process broke the device and now I have to pay to replace it.

what’s the cheapest replacement version out there? I’m not buying the carplay2air version this time.

At the time I found this, it is only $29. I am not in any way associated with the seller.
This worked for me! First time user. Got a Mazda CX-5 2019 model. The March update is working perfectly. Thank you to everyone in this thread!

Hello Everyone,

I purchased new Joyeauto MMB Wireless Carplay Adapter Plus for my 2018 Honda Accord Touring.

Complelty satisfied with this adapter and it's really stable than Carlinkit CPC200-U2W-PLUS.

No more rebooting, black screen and audio shattering.

It has USB Media file playing and Phone mirror functions which are really great.

It came with the latest firmware installed and the firmware files are huge (over 400 MB) compared to Carlinkit CPC200-U2W-Plus

Unfortunately that one appears out of stock, hope they get it back in. I'd go in for a $30 replacement. These $100+ ones are scam artists for any kind of product support.

Hello! I have a problem..
I used CPC200-U2W-Plus well (maybe 2020.11.XX version..).
I tried to update firmware through OTA about 2 weeks ago (can't remember target firmware version).
I saw successful upgrade message and waited for the device to reboot automatically but, device show error message "hardware error: wifi" like picture.
I'm trying rollback or upgrade through offline with various firmware version. But device don't show red-green blinking after connect firmware USB, always red light. (I used wall plug with 5W adaptor of iPhone)
Can someone please help me..
thank you.

I received my first dongle exactly one year ago. First, connecting to the infotainment system was a hit and miss. After some update, they introduced a start-up delay. That completely fixed my connection issue. Unfortunately, the mic issue (not picking up anything) that I had since the beginning, stayed. I installed the 06.03.2021 update a couple of days ago to no reveil. The mic issue stayed and the dongle began crashing after a few minutes. Therefore, today I wanted to rollback via USB to the software that was stable for me: 2020.12.10.1057. No mic was the only downside..

I had put the file on the USB I've used a couple of times earlier and plugged it in, but the software was not installing. I thought, maybe I can use the downgrade option on the unit itself and then update via USB. The downgrade went fine. But when I went back to 192.168.50.2 I saw the update log and I mentioned a major difference (for me) to the update log from the update log a couple of days ago:

- Fix some bugs
- Fix disconnection issue on MAZDA
- Fix mic issue on some cars

I've updated the dongle, plugged it in the car, and surprisingly: IT WORKED! Now I am able to fully use the dongle and not having to unplug it when a phone call comes in, and use bluetooth instead.

The strange thing is, I made a screenshot of the update log a few days ago and the update log today. Version and size is exactly the same: 2021.03.06.1343, size 8.58MB. Hopefully this version is as stable as 2020.12.10.1057. I will come back in a few days to report about the stability.
Update: Used the dongle over the weekend. Mic is working great! In phone calls, they can hear me well. However, the stability has been worse than before. The december 10 update never crashed for me, March 6 crashes randomly during a call, using spotify, just showing the home screen. This will hopefully be fixed in the next

At least two other users here have reported the same problem and another on this page has reported instability, all from the same firmware. I have created an Issue Log (link in my signature) if you would like to add your details - the objective is for information sharing and comparison only. Personally I have had no problems, but am happy to host the Issue Log in case sharing experiences can help someone to figure out a solution.

I am using Rufus on windows to put them into fat32.
I might have misunderstood your post but I got a feeling that you are making it way too complicated than it has to be by using Rufus. What matters is the USB drive you use has to be in FAT32. The firmware file is just a copy and paste (or drag and drop) from your PC drive to the USB drive. Make sure the firmware file on the USB drive is U2W_Update.img
Power up your CarLink with a wall charger. Wait for the red light to come up. Insert the USB drive you just made to the CarLink. The LED should flick red and green.
Good luck!

What’s complicated about Rufus? It’s just a program that formats the stick into a fat32 file system.

I tried windows default format too, no dice.

If you also let Rufus to put U2W_Update.img into the USB, it extracts the image file to the USB. That is.

Or put another way....
The $100 ones actually took the time to invent and build the device.
And create new firmware about once a month.
Instead of just ripping off someone else's design and still not providing any support.
;)
