I don't really understand how those Chinese companies operate. For some reason, there seem to be quite some "fakes" around. So better buy it from official sources or you obviously won't receive any support. Looks like recent FW updates have only been issued to people on demand after purchase verification.

Anyone take one for the team and spring for one of the quote unquote "V3" models to see if there's any hardware differences?

I have a 2016 Mazda 6 with the upgraded infotainment to enabled wired carplay. I've looked through the comments, but it is unclear if there is a solution that works with my car. Has anyone had success getting wireless to work with a 2016 Mazda 6?

If your Mazda CMU version is between v.70.00.100 and v.70.00.367, the U2W firmware 03.06.2021 works fairly well.
If your CMU is updated to the latest v.74.00.230, U2W does not support it. All you get is a black screen after your iPhone connects to the U2W on 03.06.2021.

This company is a joke. Tried to leave them a one star review, and it never showed up. Only three stars and above are allowed.
This never worked from Day 1.

Wouldn’t activate. Wouldn’t update. Even after sending me the file to manually update. They had me try this, and try that. Nothing worked.

Heard nothing from them until the warranty expired. These guys are a joke. 2017 Ioniq.

I never had problems with my 2 boxes in my VW Golf fl 2017, Volvo 2021 and Renault ZOE 2020. Its strange because Ioniq 2017-2020 is on their compatilible list.

I just bought my carlinkit v2 dongle. Establishing the connection works flawless, very quick and there is no noticeable lag.
But the dongle seems to keep crashing every 1.5-3 minutes. After the screen and sound freezes, the device restarts and autoconnects. Does anyone have the same problems or even better, a solution for them?

Car: Mercedes CLA W117 2016
iPhone: 11 Pro
iOS: 14.6

Carlinkit Firmwares:
2020.12.25.1732 was stock
then I updated to 2021.02.05.2216 via OTA
then rolled back via OTA menu to 2020.12.25.1732
then I updated via USB to 2021.02.02 (even though it shows 2021.03.07.0001 is installed)

EDIT: I already tried all the different settings in the dongles menu, I also tried repairing and disabling any sync from car to phone (phone numbers)

EDIT2: I have the red ui (so AUTOKIT)

Common sense is telling me that the Amazon cheapies can’t be fakes or knockoffs because if they were then the supply would be constant and it’s not.
Instead a small batch appears and then sells out with no info on when or if they will be made available again.
I think it’s much more likely that these are either factory rejects or a small quantity being diverted/stolen from the official manufacturing process.

I also don’t buy the green/red UI corresponding to the hardware revision.

The last version that works with Siri on the Bronco Sport (I have one too) is the 8.4 version. They don’t want to help because of aftermarket copies that flooded Amazon.
Is there any way to downgrade to that firmware with the new encryption scheme? i downloaded to the 2020.11.1038_Rollback, but that still causes issues with my Ford.

So reading a Chinese site (with poor translation) it claimed that 3.0 had a “faster” chip. So besides a new WiFi chip does it also contain a faster processor. I know that at times the 2.0 product takes a while to connect and was wondering if the 3.0 would work better. If it did I’d consider upgrading.

dumb question, i tried to go through 260 pages of posts but didnt find the answer. I have the autokit pro version (for android head units)

i did some research around on the SOC and it seems like the hardware between the wired/wireless converter and the android head unit version is the same

I am inferring this because my unit has the same Atmel AT91SAM8260 as the U2W has

Is it possible to flash the android head unit version to the U2W version for use with OEM head units?

Also is it possible to manually dump the firmware with a eeprom reader? I opened the unit and see a SOP-8 chip that is unmarked. Looks like a serial eeprom to me... Is that used for booting?

how is it possible to downgrade from CFW 2021.04.06? I tried already the rollback image 2020.12.25

EDIT: Is this even possible?

I've recently bought one of these for my Chery Tiggo 8. I seem to have received an AUTOKIT version with red UI and firmware 2021.03.06.1355 and at first it didn't work at all. Like, the car didn't even detect it as a Carplay device.
So, I have discovered this wonderful thread and the github repository. I have downgraded to 2020.12.25.1732 using a rollback image and then flashed a 2021.04.26 based AUTOKIT CFW.
Now it almost works, yay! The car recognizes the box as a Carplay device, I can pair my iPhone SE and see the Carplay screen.
The only remaining problem is that I cannot get the sound working. No matter what I do or which settings I change (CD/DVD quality, sync modes, etc) it remains silent as the grave. No music, no voice.

Anyone having the same issue? Any way to debug this using the thumb drive with the custom script?

So after a bad experience with a CPlay2Air unit last year, I'm rolling the dice again with a Carlinkit 2.0 from Amazon (so if this is a bust too, I can return it easily). The unit should get here tomorrow and I'll see how it goes. Just for the record, this will be in a 2017 Fiat 124 Spider running the Mazda AA/CarPlay upgrade kit (new USB hub and cables) and Mazda v70.00.100 NA N software. This time around, depending on what FW version the Carlinkit comes with, if the unit works even mostly OK, I'm not going to mess with any FW updates. I could never get the CPlay2Air to work reliably at all, and one of the many FW updates finally bricked the unit. Wish me luck (fingers crossed) and I'll update once the box gets here and I can try it.

Mazda unit will work with the March 2021 carlinkit firmware
