CarPlay CarPlay adapter to convert to wireless CarPlay?

I tried mine in a 2021 VW Jetta that had USB-C and it did NOT work. Tried both USB-C to USB-C and USB-A to USB-C.

I have 2021 model VW Polo. Didn’t work at all Carlinkit?? i heard it doesn't work in VW with type-c output. Do you think I should buy it???

Also valuable to note that threads like these are biased towards those users having issues. For what it's worth, I've had my Carlinkit 2.0 adapter since November 2020 and it works incredibly well. I experience no reboot issues, I'm on the March 2021 @VLud custom firmware, and everything largely works perfectly. There's some lag when skipping tracks but that's present with factory wireless CarPlay as well. The only issues I have off the top of my head are that the steering wheel next/previous buttons don't function as track seeking when held down (only skip) and sometimes I need to unplug/replug to get spoken Waze alerts unmuted (though that might be a Waze bug.) My two cents for whatever it's worth!

I received a different sub version OTA. It does not fix my black screen issue with Mazda v.74 firmware.

This company is a joke. Tried to leave them a one star review, and it never showed up. Only three stars and above are allowed.
This never worked from Day 1.

Wouldn’t activate. Wouldn’t update. Even after sending me the file to manually update. They had me try this, and try that. Nothing worked.

Heard nothing from them until the warranty expired. These guys are a joke. 2017 Ioniq.

Hi. I'm having the exact problem with mine. Did you manage to solve it? I'm able to activate mine (it says Active success) but after that nothing happens and if I perform a reboot is asking for activation again and so on...

I received a different sub version OTA.

The last four digits are the time of compilation.

2308 is green UI
2319 is red UI

I got mine working on both my 2021 F-450 and 2021 Bronco Sport with Sync 3.4 by going back to the 2020.08.04 firmware.

I followed the instructions on the following post (#6509) except I renamed the 2020.08.04 update to U2W_Update.img as well. I found that it is somewhat picky on USB drives and I had to reformat my drive between each one. I used FAT32 with 1024 when formatting.

Trying to update mine - i dont actually know what firmware im currently on but i have the custom one with the apple style UI made a while ago.

Issue I dont seem to be able to update - if i do it through UI i get "update failed" - tried with USB with new firmware called U2W_Update.img, U2W_SYD_Update.img, U2W_AUTOKIT_Update.img but none work - any suggestions? Would like to update to see if it fixes a random crashing issue i have.

Carlinkit. It was a loaner car from the dealership, probably in April or May? Can't advise on whether you should buy it or not, just sharing my experience trying to get it to work with USB-C (which, in my one attempt at trying, it did not.)

You tried everything, right?(usb c - usb c cable and usb c - usb a converter)

Is there a direct download for this please? Below someone says that red UI ends with 2319 which the above says.

I have a dead red UI cheapo Amazon one that I’m trying to recover.

It’s ok managed to get download.

So I’ve tried everything I can I think on my dead dongle, get the solid red LED. Tried numerous USB drives, numerous firmwares, different names (SYD etc) and nothing seems to work. It just stays on solid red LED all the time.

Anyone any more ideas before I bin?

Literally just go to Amazon and type in "carlinkit", it's not wildly difficult.

Hi MAZDA users

I have updated to 2021-07-05 FW. It is not described fix information details since it is just "Fix some bugs".
then I just used only one day. so it is not enough time, but I observed below

- Reboot after starting around 70 min . This is same phenomenon of 2021-03-06 FW. Not fixed yet.
- Apple Music, Google map, LINE, were no problem.
- I couldn't get any difference between 2021-03-06 and 2021-07-05 on my environment. so 2021-07-05 FW is no problem except reboot after starting around 70 min.

My environment
Mazda Roadster : 2019 / Nov in Japan
Mazda connect : 70.00.351 JP M
iPhone : iPhone Xs / SE(2nd)
iPhone OS : iOS 14.7
Wireless Adapter : Carlinkit 2.0 (USB-C)
- Firmware : 2021-03-06 ==> 2021-07-05
- Setting : Delay 500

Tried OTA update to 07.05 and it bricked in the car, now its just dead.

So. I was lurking for a while and had given up hope on an update that would give me Siri functionality without crashes on my 2021 explorer. And whatever the most recent update was … did it! I am SO happy!
