Hi MAZDA users

I have updated to 2021-07-05 FW. It is not described fix information details since it is just "Fix some bugs".
then I just used only one day. so it is not enough time, but I observed below

- Reboot after starting around 70 min . This is same phenomenon of 2021-03-06 FW. Not fixed yet.
- Apple Music, Google map, LINE, were no problem.
- I couldn't get any difference between 2021-03-06 and 2021-07-05 on my environment. so 2021-07-05 FW is no problem except reboot after starting around 70 min.

My environment
Mazda Roadster : 2019 / Nov in Japan
Mazda connect : 70.00.351 JP M
iPhone : iPhone Xs / SE(2nd)
iPhone OS : iOS 14.7
Wireless Adapter : Carlinkit 2.0 (USB-C)
- Firmware : 2021-03-06 ==> 2021-07-05
- Setting : Delay 500
- : Background mode ON
After using few more days.I have encountered connection failure several time. so I have rollbacked to 2021-03-06 now.

My personal impression for 2021-07-05 FW on MX-5,
- Good case : It seems connection is faster than 2021-03-06
- Bad case : My guessing for Carlinkit sequence is ... Power ON->Bluetooth connection->Wifi connection. However for 2021-07-05. After power on , Bluetooth connection seems no problem. but No Wifi signal broadcasting. So connection menu is shown, but it wasn't connected. Once it is happened. I have never recovered again even though I plug off for Carlinkit. It was required power off (Engine stop) for MX-5.
- Bad case was happened 40%. It was no problem at first connection by each day. then once power off (Engine stop) then re-connection again, This bad case was happened 40%. (My rough calculation)

So I think 2021-03-06 FW is best for my MX-5.

I have a Skoda Kamiq 2020 with Bolero with Apple carplay. Has a Carlinkit 2.0 dongle with firmware 2021.07.05.2308. Everything works well except that the dongle is disconnected and reconnected intermittently, sometimes after 5-6 minutes sometimes after 30 seconds. The longest time is after 10-12 min. Until now, it has always been reconnected automatically. Anyone have a solution?

I have 2021 model VW Polo. Didn’t work at all Carlinkit?? i heard it doesn't work in VW with type-c output. Do you think I should buy it???
We have it working on a 2021.07.05. Please make sure it is set to compatible mode in the settings.

I dug out a spare Caplay2Air (USB-A attached model) today (I use it in rentals cars etc).

It has version 2020.01.06.1408 and the OTA update update check says it's the latest. It also does not upgrade when using a USB Flash drive with a more recent version of U2W_Update.img on it (this process works ok on my other CarPlay2Air adaptors).

Any ideas?

What is your firmware version for your Mazda infotainment? I’m wondering if this July update for the adapter makes it compatible with the new Mazda infotainment version 74.00.230A?

2021-03-06 adapter did not work with the Mazda 74.00.230A. I had to downgrade back to 70.00.367A.

Thank you for feedback of Mazda MZD.
I will stick with 2021-03-06 for now.

My Mazda firmware is 70.00.351 JP M

I just bought a carlink adapter v3.0 and it has newer interface, red one, with nicer animations and menus.
Is it bad or good that is red and not green like the old one that bricked? i saw you guys talk about the red and green, but i didnt see a conclusion.

No, 2021-07-05 actually produced more issues with Mazda 74.00.230. In addition to the black screen that I've been talking about, the 07-05 caused Mazda MZD to reboot several times last week.

Thanks! Looks like I’ll forever stay on March adapter firmware with 70.00.367A Mazda firmware.

Hi @All,

i‘ve made the OTA Update 2021.07.05.2308 on my CarPlay2air adapter today and since this update nothing connect anymore, car display always only shows the CarPlay2air startscreen: connecting to iPhone 12 Pro Max and this returns in a endless loop.
Does anyone have this problem also and can help?

What colour is the startup screen, what make / model car, and what is your iOS version ?

Have you tried deleting the adapter from the iPhone and the iPhone from the adapter, then restarting everything?

Startup screen ist blue and green and text with iPhone Connecting… is white, I will make a picture tomorrow.
I have a Ford Focus MK4 with Sync3, newest iOS 14.7.1.
No, I only put the adapter away from car usb and connect again.

How can I do this, restarting means connecting like connecting like a new adapter?
Do not worry about providing a photo.

On your iPhone:
  1. Settings / General / CarPlay / choose the adapter in My Cars / Forget This Car
  2. Settings / Bluetooth / choose the adapter / tap the blue i in a circle / Forget This Device
On your car, when Apple CarPlay is starting up and waiting to connect select the iPhone, press and hold on your touchscreen or selector button then you can delete the device.

Restart your iPhone, reboot the CarPlay adapter, and connect as from new.

How can i reboot the CarPlay Adapter?
Just unplug the CarPlay adapter, count to 10 and plug it back in. Maybe it would have been clearer to say reboot your iPhone and restart the CarPlay adapter.

I have just tried all this like your tutorial:

1.
2. it’s not listed there anymore after 1.
3.
4.

but does not help, same start screen anytime for 20 minutes drive to work, both screens change every few seconds in a endless boot.

Is Wi-Fi enabled on your iPhone, and NOT connected to some other Wi-Fi network such as a hotspot in the car?

Are you using your iPhone as a hotspot?

CarPlay connects first by Bluetooth and then uses its own Wi-Fi network to stream the display from the iPhone to the wireless adapter. So if your iPhone is unavailable this would be one possibility. By the way, when properly connected for wireless CarPlay the iPhone will still be showing just a cellular connection (4G or whatever) because the CarPlay Wi-Fi network cannot access the internet - iOS will then be using both Wi-Fi and its cellular data connection…

Yes, WiFi is always enabled and also before this last Update WiFi is disabled on iPhone while it’s connected with carplay2air adapter.
No, i don’t have a WiFi connection from iPhone to car.

Sometimes i use it as a hotspot for my wife but not at this time.

Before this update everything works fine, only sometimes carplay2air does not start but after restart the adapter works.

I am having the same issue. Anyone know where I can download the previous version and manually update?

Thanks!
