Can someone teach me how to rollback with usb? i have 05.07. I tried all the advices on this thread, put the 2 script files and tried all the FW versions, the red light remains solid and the downgrade dosent start. I renamed the files, nothing works.

I try this with my CarPlay2air Adapter but nothing happens:Try to plug the dongle to your wall charger without the usb stick first. Wait till the dongle shows red light before you plugging the usb in. My dongle did nothing when I plug it to the wall charge with the usb already plugged in.

put the dongle in my iPad wall charger, no red light comes?! Just waiting 30 minutes now and only thing that happens is both are getting very warm...?!
What?! In my car the read light comes up and nothing happens so it should not be dead?
When i remember wright, some User hier talk about that they bring back the Dongle from dead to alive?!
I was rollback via OTA from option menu.
but I believe it is better to rollback via USB stick.
If you are using official Firmware, I think it is not required script files. Just put U2W_Update.img (Rename from U2W_Update_2021.03.06.1343.img) to USB stick.
so take a look thread #1 at 1st page. "Firmware update instructions USB method".
Because it seems my CarPlay2air adapter is dead now I’ve ordered a new Carlinkit 2.0 Adapter.
It has following Version on it:
I could make same updates as with my broken adapter but I’m afraid that the same happens an this adapter also get dead.
I don’t understand that this could happened, Hardware get dead with update?!
What so you guys think about, updating to newest Version or not?

I am still measuring the same 1s RTT as with the previous version 2021-03-06, also see my review.with version 2021-07-05 i no longer have any delays when making calls. i have a vw golf 7.

I'm blue UI user. so I'm not sure for Red UI.
Due to encryption method changing. I supposed it should be rollbacked to old level with U2W.sh , ARMimage_maker and old firmware. I referred to #5927 when I rollbacked.
My dongle has/had(?) the 3/6/21 firmware and it is detecting the new 7/4/2021 firmware and wanting me to update. I applied update and it says the upgrade successful and just stays on the success screen giving me no options. So if I refresh the page (and I've also later did this after unpegging and replugging in the dongle) it still says that the 7/4 update is available (and does not offer the 7/5 update) and it does not display the current version the dongle is running so I can't verify what it is running. Ive rerun the update many times and it stall acts the same way.
My guess is that the update did not take but I can't verify this because it won't display the current version just the version of the update it says is available. Anyone else seeing this?

Hmm I’m really stuck too, I’ve got the usbc carlinkit, I’m on red ui custom firmware (below)
Id really like to try get to the July firmware mentioned to see if it helps with some issues, previously it woild offer me it OTA but after running the script on GitHub it just says I’m on the latest when I know I’m not?
What do I need to do from here to get to July firmware? It don’t seem to read file from USB?

I suppose your dongle was Custom Firmware 2021-03-06, then now your dongle downgraded Official Firmware 2020.10.19. and you wanted to update to official firmware 2021-07-05. however it is not shown it via OTA. Is that right ?
I'm not sure it is allowed to update to latest one form 2021.10.19. but how about if you update next level by USB ? (2021-10-28 or 2020-11-10 ?). I suppose it is more safety.

I have no experience Red UI since I have Blue one. but many user instructed to use file name "U2W_AUTOKIT_Update.img" instead of U2W_Update.img for Red UI. It is only difference between Red and Blue as far as I know.
Hmm have tried that no matter what I name either of the firmware it don’t seem to take it - have tried different USB’s too.
I’m not sure if I’m actually on 2020.10.19 - I ran the usb with the script and it read for a few seconds but nothing else happened, when I put the usb back into computer there was text document saying it had changed the version number but I’m not convinced it actually wrote the new firmware - was too quick
Ummmm, sorry for not resolving the issue.
Just in case, I would like to share #6323 when I did rollback from Custom Firmware 2021.03.06. It wasn't changed firmware at 1st step, but resolved. It was depended firmware version
Again, I have Blue UI. It might not help for Red UI.
To upgrade to >= 2021.03.06 from CFW, two solutions:
- Put U2W_Update_2020.11.10.2138_ROLLBACK.img on a USB Key and rename it to U2W_AUTOKIT_Update.img if Red UI or U2W_Update.img if Blue UI, then upgrade back to official 2021.03.06. Only then you can upgrade using U2W_Update_2021.07.05.2308.img renamed to U2W_Update.img
- Put this script (ARMimg_maker & U2W.sh) on a USB Key and U2W_Update_2021.07.05.2308.img and rename it to U2W_AUTOKIT_Update.img if Red UI or U2W_Update.img if Blue UI.
What if not on custom firmware abd want to go back to 3.6 from 7.5?
Should be working straight away, there is an extra check on the box type (AUTOKIT or not) so be sure to use the good file:
- U2W_Update_2021.03.06.1343.img renamed to U2W_Update.img if Blue UI
- U2W_AUTOKIT_Update_2021.03.06.1355.img renamed to U2W_AUTOKIT_Update.img if Red UI
