This is not a Carplay adapter - its for Android.
The initial headlines are maybe ambiguous but I am equally certain that it is CarPlay wireless adapter for factory fitted or aftermarket CarPlay, and passthrough for Android Auto. And not the other kind of wireless CarPlay adapter for Android Head Units that need the AutoKit APK.

I ordered one too, so first one to receive can report back.

I revived my adapter from the dead by flashing a dump file, but now i get solid green light when conected to the brick and no light in the car. Any sugestions?

Anyone with v3.0 adapter, red UI, experiencing music and waze shuttering, gps position lag and rebooting after few minutes of use?

I’ve had a 2.0 and a 3.0 and they both started rebooting with the newer firmware.
I rolled them both back to firmware before 3/21 and the reboots stopped.

I tried that too, unfortunate that dosent work either, after a while it starts to shutter and gps lag.:(
I think its just a damaged unit bought from Aliexpress..

Hi everyone!

I have a carlinkit 2021 mini and I have detected that when you have been using the waze app for more than 30 minutes, it starts to go very slow and the carplay goes out.
for it to work again I must disconnect the sel carlinkit cable and reconnect it.

Does anyone else happen to you?

I want to try more applications to see if the same happens.

Also comment that the carlinkit mini 2021 gets very hot

Just one problem... it is conspicuously absent from the CarLinkIt website.

EDIT: their website seems not to be very up to date e.g. regarding the U2W updates log, but I cannot imagine that they would launch a new product and not feature it
See this video:

it’s original product

Yes, same issue, but at me happens way faster, like after few minutes.
I dont know what to do, 0 help from Carlinkit. I think its hardware and not software.

In my experience AliExpress' customer service is non existence. It's the worst online platform in my opinion. It's good for buying cheap stuffs where you don't care if it breaks very quickly. I have had multiple issues receiving damaged items or warranty issues where the sellers simply ignored you. Trying to get AliExpress' help was a nightmare, they only have automatic reply bots you can't speak to a real human. That said, they have recently added the PayPal payment option and I have had success getting my money back with PayPal dispute so make sure you use PayPal as the payment method to protect yourself.
I am trying to return the carlinkit mini 2021 due to failures, I bought it through paypal.

In the claim by aliexpress they accept the return, but they make me pay the shipping to china.

I complain to the seller saying that the article puts a free return and he replies that they have removed it now and he does not leave them that option.

while I process a claim in paypal.

I tell the seller that the shipping is more expensive than the product.

He offers to return it to an address in France.

I tell him that now the claim does not appear and that if it can be in the warehouse in Spain, he does not respond to me and tells me to remove the claim from aliexpres.

I answer him no, because if not, I can not claim again and he can answer it in paypal.

If not, send me a new unit, if not ...

I am waiting for an answer

I don't know what it could be.

I tried using Google Maps and it suddenly freeze, and the next few times it took me 30 minutes.

By cable this does not happen.

With only music it works well I think.

By whatsapp with sat carlin they tell me to talk to the seller

Just wait and you will win the claim, full refund, no return.
Make a video with the problem and open a dispute on aliexpress and paypal. You will win.
I got my 80$ back, no return, i made like 3 videos and aliexpress refunded.

i think its a batch of defective units or the whole lot if it happens to other types, like your mini.

On cable works flawless. I had a v2 adapter that worked well too, i dont know what happened to the new units..

My v1 unit (>2 years old) does also sometimes freeze or the gui stops responding to touches after a bit of time.

I normally blame it to my old and trusty iPhone 8, as when using it outside the car it also sometimes starts slowing down as hell (I need to replace the battery as it's damaged). As I have it wirelessly charging I feel it might also be getting a tad to hot.

In any case, could very well be the carlinkit freezing by itself. For my normal short trips it seems to work just fine (for long trips I just used the phone wired).

What I found is that the experience is better with Apple Maps, using google maps it freezed more times and faster.

For those having issues, do you have and old iphone as me? or is it happening also with newer and more powerful devices?

Hi guys.
I habe v2.0 with custom firmware 2021.04.26. I have often the problem with lags and freeze.
Is there a Firmware that is better?
Or what else can I test?
Or should I stay away from custom firmware and install official firmware?
I have an Seat Leon 2019.

So I bit the bullet and ordered the £30 Podofo Wired to Wireless Carplay Dongle

I currently have a usbc carlinkit 2.0 - with this one advertising it having 5ghz WiFi it tempted me to see if I had an improvement in phone calls lag.

It only arrived this morning so not had an awful lot of time to test it, but I’ve managed to connect it up and all seems to function, it connected to my car fairly quickly once my cars media system actually started - will see how it goes over next few days! Haven’t managed to find a web gui to connect
To / change any settings yet, it don’t seem
To be the default 192.168.50.2

Included a video of it connecting at the bottom too.

Would love to know if seek through tracks works by holding down the next/previous steering wheel buttons (if you have them)? Also curious about phone call quality especially after 5/10 minutes (lag, static, crackling, etc.) So far looks good!

Managed to do a few more tests with it on my lunch break, overall I’m quite impressed actually.

It’s web GUI is 192.168.0.1, I still can’t see any user changeable settings but it did allow me to update, sadly after updating the page seems to error, it did slightly change the splash screen though. There also seems to be a section to choose historical firmware’s but I can’t see that after the update - I will try get there again later. UI is all Chinese but safari translates it OK. The 3 dots was where before the update I could see what seemed like previous versions of software.

Music playback seems good - there’s a slightly lag with skipping songs but no worse than my carlinkit - seeking through tracks does work on my steering wheel which is an improvement over the carlinkit device.

I tried a phone call and I’m not sure if I’m fooling my self but the lag did seem a lot better - but it wasn’t really a solid test if anyone knows a U.K. based latency test number I can call to compare the 2 am happy to do so!

The UI on screen seems responsive, I’ve not taken it through its paces yet with driving / sat nav / music etc but so far am quite impressed with it.

Did you order from Aliexpress to UK, £36 in total no customs charges/import fees etc?

What is that on the side is it a MicroSD slot? WhT is that for?

Any instructions included for model number or anything, sometimes appear on Amazon UK using model number.

Keep us posted in testing I’m tempted to get one to.

Thanks
