I bought one just minutes ago. Will see if it works with my Mazda retrofit CarPlay kit on the latest firmware v.74.

Please also test adapter crash & restart issue during 1-2 hour of driving.
I also interest in this and tired to wait Carlinkit to fix this.

Sadly not yet no more than 20 mins will try give it a longer test soon!

Is there an email/WhatsApp to contact the company? Is it Podofi branded?

Just for your issue on update it sounds like you can’t communicate anymore after your original update.

It’s working fine though?

Not seen any branding on it or contact details - it’s still working fine used it for around 30/40 min drive today, used sat nav with audio directions + music and it seemed to cope well so far

Anything more on the update server working? So there’s no way to contact them, or find out who they are, just for news on posters etc.

Thanks

My Podofo arrived and it wont connect to my headunit.
It's an aftermarket Pioneer but the CarLinkit and the Joyeauto both work with it.
The Podofo -- not so much.
When I connect it the green LED lights solid and I can see a ConnectBoxDebug WiFi network appear on my phone but nothing appears in my Bluetooth section and the headunit acts like there's nothing attached.
The Podofo instructions claim that the same device is used whether you have an Android headunit or an OEM headunit and it talks about having to install an APK if you do have Android but I don't.
So either the instructions or wrong and I got the incorrect Android version, or it's broken, or else it just doesn't work with my Pioneer.
Aliexpress shows some versions having a green Android logo but mine has the same red logo shown by simps100 earlier.

Where did you find the updated firmware?
OTA UPDATE, search it.

Ask them in private, maybe its a defective unit, else open dispute.

Strange my Ford sync head unit instantly detected a car play device and come up with the splash screen - for me the Bluetooth is called ConnectBoxBt

Yeah, nothing shows up via Bluetooth. Only the ConnectBoxDebug in the WiFi section but it asks for a password to connect.
And no splash screen.

Where did you find the update IP?
I didn't see any mention of it in the instructions.

Got this update yesterday by actually clicking the "Check For Update" button... AND MAGICALLY, MY FORD BRONCO SPORT *FINALLY* WORKS WITH SIRI... I can hit the steering wheel button and everything works as it should. No more random shutdowns/reboots when using Siri. I can't believe they finally fixed it!

I just gusssed common IP’s and got there - I guess if you could get to another car play
Car and try it there and if works update to see if you have any more luck in yours.

Wow!
2021.08.24.1817 is the first version I’ve tried since before 03.06 that hasn’t rebooted every 10-minutes.
I’ve tried 03.06 and every one after and I always had to roll back to the one from November last year.

Hi all,

I have the CPLAY2Air with my 2016 Honda Civic and an iPhone 12 Pro Max - couple questions/issues:

1. Activating the Lane Watch camera with the right turn indicator or manually with the button on the stalk causes Car Play to think that a physical navigation button/wheel for the onscreen elements has been used - it highlights things on screen, will move to the next page of an app screen etc. The Civic does not have a physical interaction knob/wheel for the infotainment system, it's 100% touchscreen, so something is getting misinterpreted by the dongle. (it doesn't happen if I use the normal wired USB connection directly to my phone) Super annoying and I'm wondering if there's any sort of custom firmware or anything like that that fixes this? I've tried to file bug reports but their interface barely lets me describe the issue.

2. Since the last few firmwares the unit has been very hit or miss connecting to the car. I often have to pull out the dongle and completely reboot the infotainment unit/tablet and reboot my phone to get it to connect again. Otherwise it just loops on the initial connection screen. Same question - any custom firmware or anything like that fix this?

Thanks!

Well, my original 2.0 unit bricked this morning after updating to 2021.03.06.1343.. Had the original unit with Green and Black UI... Wouldn't even power up or pull power after the botched upgrade (connected to my 2020 Tundra). Obviously out of warranty.

Ordered a new unit, and received the Red UI unit (same day Amzn). Looks like it shows another update available, but I am a bit hesitant to pull the trigger again... Keeps bouncing between showing a new update and saying the current version (2021.03.06.1355) is the latest. Obviously a bit hesitant to pull the trigger again the next time it shows an update.

Any suggestions? -- Or is it pretty much only upgrade when absolutely needed or risk bricking?

Looking over the pages it looks like @VLud has some custom firmware.
Not sure if there's a recommended stable release yet, or does it all just vary based on the car model? Whatever my original unit was on prior to this morning was fairly stable (able to go on long road trips without issue), only experience some latency connecting to my phone at times, and sometimes calls would cause it to freeze up... Was on a call this morning and it froze, which it what prompted me to pull the trigger on the update(s).

I just checked again for latest version. Seems that it has been reverted to 2021.07.05.2319.

Code:
${"filePath":"\/mnt\/downloads\/2021-07-26\/U2W_AUTOKIT_Update_2021.07.05.2319.img","fileSize":"10195755","fileName":"U2W_AUTOKIT_Update.img","version":"2021.07.05.2319","updateTime":"2021-08-10 14:40:44","updateLog":"Fix some bugs\nDo not unplug the box when upgrading, please wait for the box to restart automatically"}

EDIT:
Now I am seeing the new version again. Probably a browser cache problem.

Tested the update today, the adapter still dosent work. Lag, shuttering, gps position lag=unusable. I still belive its a hardware problem or a fake carlinkit that i got.

With respect to power consumption I can't see any difference. It still consumes 1W which is to be expected from an i.MX6+WiFi. This does not leave much room for charging a phone connected to the passthrough port. This port is really only good for recovery in case of problems.

My original CarLinkIt v1 dongle has an update as below. The file size is really small though, and it’s the July one not the recent Aug one. Safe?

It is this way, 07.04, 07.05 and then the 08 update.

Ah ok so I need to update with 07.04 first. I was just nervous seeing the size (Mb) of the update where normally they are much bigger. These will all be OTA as well?

Thanks I may try it on my CarLinkIt v1. Wonder if there’s a USB version to see if I can recover my cheapo Amazon which just displays solid red LED
