CarPlay CarPlay adapter to convert to wireless CarPlay?

Can someone comment on the new hardware in the CarLinkit 3.0?
I'm wondering how they could improve the hardware without increasing the price.
Did the technology just improve without really adding any cost or did they make some other sacrifices that they don't talk about like less RAM/ROM or something?

I just thought of something. If the casting does work on the new podofo unit, wouldn’t the audio lag from Bluetooth still be present? Then the video and audio would be out of sync?

I always watch videos with my audio connected to my Mazda and the audio always lags while on the wireless carplay. I always forget about the lag until I hear it then I have to switch back to my wired carplay.
The CarLinkit 3.0 and the Podofo both supposedly have Bluetooth 5.0 and with the Media Delay setting set to 500, the CarLinkit has almost no audio lag when watching videos.
It's not the same as casting. I'm just watching on the phone screen while listening through the car stereo but it's much MUCH better than it was on the CarLinkit 2.0.

Ordered my podofo a 2 days ago and haven’t received shipping confirmation yet.

I ordered my 10 days ago and still not shipped yet. The so called official store replied my message saying that my order will be shipped soon.

I hope it all works out.
My Podofo doesnt work and the seller just keeps running me in circles.
First they wanted me to install an Android app.
Then they wanted a video of the problem.
Then they asked questions that were clearly answered in the video (like whether my phone was an Apple phone  )
I finally gave up and opened a dispute today.

The Podofo does look like identical to the one from Cheerdriving so if anyone really wants one I suggest ordering directly from them.

Sorry to hear that. Which car do you drive? I hope it’s not a Mazda.. I bought this device cus I haven’t heard any reviews from any other Mazda owners.

I also have this problem with my Carlinkit v2 but it happens maybe once every 8 time so it's not too bad. The Carplay screen will come up and it keeps searching for phones but won't connect. When it doesn't automatically connect, I will have to unplug and replug to get it working again.

I find this happens more when I have two phones in the car (ie. my phone and my wife's phone that are both set up in Carlinkit).

Not sure what the cause is for this if Podofo also has this problem... Wondering if it's a limitation in CarPlay itself?
I do not have any problems with my CarLinkIt 2.0, it connects 99% of the time, the Podofo not. Typically I see the Podofo connection screen but the car does not detect anything. Like you, I have to unplug and replug to make it work.

What version of software are you running on the Podofo? The latest (from Cheerdriving) is 43.0.9.0.0.4.2.0-286

It's a Dodge but the stereo is an after-market Pioneer.

I installed the latest from Cheerdriving but I used the microSD card method so I have no idea whether I was successful or not.

My 2020 Mazda CX-5 with built-in CarPlay and very current infotainment firmware 74.00.230.NA N. I purchased a CarlinKit v. 3 wireless CarPlay adapter from Amazon. I ensured that the CarlinKit device has the latest firmware by connecting to its WiFi (it shows up with SSID "VOLKSWAGEN AB" or some such). That went without error. I ensured my iPhone 12's Bluetooth was not connected to the car's infotainment system and that all profiles related to the phone were disabled.

And: it simply will not see the Bluetooth signal provided by the CarlinKit. So, it's useless.

Any suggestions before I hurl the steaming thing back at Amazon for a refund?

Try a different cable with it? My v3 sometimes does that and switching USB C to A cables seems to resolve it.

Does the CarLinkit show up on the Mazda stereo screen with the red user interface?

Still having an issue where I can't upgrade my Carlinkit firmware... fails OTA, and have tried via USB multiple times, following multiple instructions in this thread, on both a Mac and PC... nothing. Is this just permanently stuck on its current firmware? It works fine, but about 50% of the time I get a disconnect after ~30 seconds or so. All okay after I unplug and replug it, but a tad inconvenient.

No, 2021-07-05 actually produced more issues with Mazda 74.00.230. In addition to the black screen that I've been talking about, the 07-05 caused Mazda MZD to reboot several times last week.

I believe you missed my repeating notes about CarlinKit to this date does not work well with Mazda firmware v.74. I suffer everyday, that is why I went to buy a Podofo to try. I have no sign of the Podofo shipment yet.

The carlinkit does not seem to work with Mazda firmware 74. I once updated my Mazda infotainment to that firmware and it no longer recognized my wireless carplay. You’ll need to downgrade the Mazda infotainment to 70.00367 to get it to recognize your carlinkit. That solution worked for me.

Has your podofo been marked as shipped?

I was not clear about it earlier. It was marked as shipped 11 days ago but with no movement whatsoever. The seller admitted that it has not been shipped.

Damn. I received this message today:

“hi friend,
I am very pleased to inform you that we have sent your order package. It will take some time for the package to be shipped. Please don’t worry. Once there is a logistics update, we will notify you immediately. Thank you for your support from podofo official store.
Any question, please feel free to contact us .
have a nice day
Alex”

order was placed on Friday of last week.

Thanks. That's a non-starter for me, unfortunately-- I had the firmware updated due to "issues" and don't want them to recur.

What issues did you have on previous Mazda firmware? Also it’s worth noting that v70.0034 works best with the carlinkit firmware from March 2021. When I updated my Mazda firmware to v74, none of the carlinkit firmwares from March-July worked for me so I downgraded back to v70.00367 and to March 2021.

Just saw this new OTA update. Will update and see if things run smoothly
I use the Carplay2air and got the same update. It ran and reported that the update completed successfully. Now the device does nothing. No power to the device whatsoever.

I cant for the life of me make this work on a Sony XAV-AX5500. The interface connects and all but the second music or sounds are played the entire thing locks up. On the latest August firmware and the Sony is up to date on 1.12

Latest firmware doesn't necessarily mean best firmware.
I'm using a Pioneer and not a Sony but every firmware after January 2021 caused problems for me until the August 2021 firmware. Whenever a new firmware came out I'd try it and then have to downgrade again.
Check out the various firmware depositories and flashing methods on page 1 and if you're comfortable, try downgrading.

I’ve tried quite literally every single firmware.
