when you exit your car, does it tell you that your cell phone is still in the car? I’m wondering if I could still have that function turned on? Thanks.
On the RS3 there is an option to enable or disable this. I’ve now disabled it as the MMI will think a phone is still connected.

I was hoping for something a bit more “clean” - like having a very simple iPhone app that tells the adapter to restart

someone from one of the Jeep forums posted this on one of my threads today. I just bought it.

To "Michael" - I understand that there are issues with the product that many people are seeing. Luckily for me, I'm having very few issues.

Once you've gotten rid of most of the issues, I have a few thoughts regarding enhancements that would be helpful for all us. Here are my thoughts:

Given that we already have the 192.168.50.2 feature for installing new software, I would suggest you expand that feature:

1) Provide an option to delete any and all iPhones. This could help when people are having problems getting the product to work. Being able to clean EVERYTHING to initial settings might help!

2) For people who setup multiple iPhones for the same car, it would be helpful to show a list of the iPhones that are "installed" and give the user a way to
a) chose which iPhone they want to use
b) And also give the user a way to delete a iPhone

3) Provide a simple button to reboot the dongle. This would be used if the dongle doesn't boot up properly without having to pull the dongle out and then putting it back.

1 and 2 already exist. It’s the new interface screen they have. You can select which phone. And you can delete old phones but either touch/long pressing the phone on the screen and waiting for the delete button to come up or use the car knobs to do the same thing.

That's great. But how can I get to the "new screen"? And also I don't understand what you mean by "car knobs".
Thanks in advance for you helping me get to these screen(s).

As soon as you boot up the screens come on. They don’t for you?

my video here shows the issues with the Jeep but you can see what I mean about the interface.

I watched your video but it didn't answer my question. I don't know what "screen" you're talking about. Your video shows multiple screens and I don't see anything related with multiple phones.

Go to 1:01 of my video. That is the carplay2air interface. Top right of that screen is my iPhone. But if you had multiple phones paired you’d see a list of phones.

OK so after testing for a few minutes the one bug that does appear to be back for the jeeps and that u connect system is the going in reverse bug. If you do not let Carplay load all the way before going in reverse it fails so you have to unplug and plug back in.

this was a bug way back in the old version days but I’ll take this any day of the week

Ok. Another new issue with Jeep and latest firmware. Volume. If using Siri volume does not return to original volume. You have to power off radio and turn back on. Ugh. Not that big of a deal but still annoying

Hi Michael,
The carplay2air link just arrived. I’ve plugged it onto my Mazda, and I after some seconds I got an Apple CarPlay Error screen, and nothing else happens. See the image attached. Any clues? What shall I do?

not sure, you'd have to reach out to michael/their support, which is hit or miss. Try pulling dongle back out and put back in again

Hum... Will have to give this a try now. The bad side is that I need to get my dongle to a working car to update. Will post the results on my Jeep Compass.

I have the same problem with my Mazda 6.
Sometimes it works and sometimes I get this error, it helps unplugging it but sometimes it takes several tries.

hum.... have you determined if anything helps especially?? Like plugging in the dongle once the infotainment system has finished loading, or else?

Would someone please clarify if Carplay2air and Carlinkit are the same products? Is there a difference regarding quality, firmware support, functionality, etc?
I am wondering which one would be better choice for 2019 C class Mercedes...

OK - I see that - but unfortunately, every time I choose a different phone (from the last time), I end up with an empty screen. The only way to change to another phone is to get to the empty screen and then shut off the car (or pull the dongle out, but it back in, and then go through the startup process).

No, i have not anything that helps.
Also the MZD infotainment system sometimes reboots out of the blue when the carplay2air is plugged in.

that's the mystery question, no one REALLY knows

On the RS3 there is an option to enable or disable this. I’ve now disabled it as the MMI will think a phone is still connected.

I have that option too. I like it because sometimes I do forget about my phone.

I’m happy to report the new update may have resolved my issue. I’ve successfully connected twice today following the update. I will continue to test and report back. BTW, I have a 2018 Mercedes CLA 250

Updates aren’t doing **** for my 2017 Mercedes CLA250. Still struggles to initiate the dongle

First delete any prior bluetooth instance it may have found in the past. Then, connect the dongle by usb to your iphone. After you establish a wired connection, disconnect the usb from your iphone. This step should bring you to carplay2air screen where you should be able to establish a bluetooth connection. Once connected, open safari and type in the following address to update the dongle: 192.168.58.2

This worked for me and the latest update has now connected 3 times upon starting the car.
