Hi MAZDA users

I'm using Carlinkit 2.0, so far no problem except around 70min reboot issue. then CheerDriving will be resolved for my problem. then I ordered it in January.

Today, I have received CheerDriving. then tried to install to my MX-5, Results is failed at this moment. Ummm.

- Version is shown, 43.0.11.0.0.0.3.0-2.10.2

ConnectBoxBt_MAZDA is appeared on my iPhone BT screening, then select it. but ”Paring Unsuccessful" is show up.
and not move to WiFi connection.

My Mazda connect is 70.00.351. JP M
and I confirmed my iPhone SE and Xs. both were same situation.

I appreciate if you post any advice for my situation.
Try to go to the iPhone settings then CarPlay and leave it on that screen, turn on the car and wait for the cheerdriving to show up in the other cars section. Select it there to see if that makes the connection.

A new FW is available:
Code:
${"filePath":"\/mnt\/downloads\/2022-02-11\/U2W_AUTOKIT_Update_2022.01.24.1903.img","fileSize":"12798562","fileName":"U2W_AUTOKIT_Update.img","version":"2022.01.24.1903","updateTime":"2022-02-16 08:28:08","updateLog":"Fix some bugs"}

It includes the new web UI.

What are the differences vs. the version of 24th Jan 2022? This version has also the nee web UI.

Hi I hope you guys can help me? I have an ottocast U2-Now and am seeing the problem with my unit showing hardware error wi-fi. I performed a rollback from a recent upgrade and I believe I am currently on 2021.08.24.1917 I have the red interface (Which oddly shows as green but is apparently supposed to be like that). I have been desperately trying to downgrade using the USB firmware fix but when I plug my usb into the unit while its plugged into a usb plug it does nothing. There is a solid red light on the unit. I have tried both naming formats of the files but nothing seems to work... im at my wits end with it and would really appreciate a helping hand?

What iOS version is your phone running? If it's 15.2.1 or higher, that adapter is no longer compatible. See here.

I don't think that is correct, I have been using it flawlessly until this morning when I stupidly performed an OTA update, the phone itself connects no problems to it (until I did that update) and then when the update created issues I rolled it back which then created my issues of the wifi issue

I was just listing a possibility. Not sure what could be causing the issue. You have tried everything I could think of. Hope someone here can help.

Ottocast has the bright green UI. Even though it's AutoKit-based, I wouldn't be surprised if they use some other file naming convention.

Did you try a lower capacity USB drive (32GB) formatted as FAT32? There should be no other files except the firmware file named U2W_AUTOKIT_Update.img.

Yep I’ve got both a 4 gig and a 2 gig fat32 and have tried all the standard rollback files with U2W_AUTOKIT_Update.img even tried the highest software version available incase it won’t downgrade. When I put the usb in, the usb activity light flashes a few seconds and then nothing. No blue and red lights at all on the Ottocast at all just solid red.

Thank you very much for your comments.

But I'm still failed.
I tried it with in settings, then move to CarPlay, and wait. then turn on my MX-5.
As I attached. "ConnectBoxBt_Mazda" is displayed, then I selected it. but nothing happened for my iPhone. and no change display on my MX-5 as well.

In case you want to download the same CheerDriving firmware and try again yourself:

I just update my review of the Carlinkit 2.0 adapter to reflect the latest FW 2022.01.24.1903. Except for the new web UI there are no notable changes.

The new web UI is quite informative. A setting I am still missing is the possibility to enter the desired WiFi channel. My 2.0 still supports WPA1(TKIP) and WPA2 and lacks support for 802.11ac which is weird as some 2.0 adapters based on a Realtek WiFi chipset seem to be around which do support 802.11ac.

Hi, Thank you very much for your information.
I did firmware updating by memory card. It is same revision with 43.0.11.0.0.0.3.0-2.10.2
But unfortunately, I didn't resolve my issue. It is no changed to wifi connection from Bluetooth selection.

Delete saved bluetooth, carplay, wifi and hard reset your iPhone (press Vol +, Vol - and hold power button until reboot)
and try to pair connection via Bluetooth again.

Sometime I got stuck on welcome screen and Carplay didn't start.
To re-start, I press upper left corner to swap into wireless mirror screen, then switch back to Carplay screen and manually connect Bluetooth on the iPhone. Wireless Carplay will start and works fine.

But my case, I guess there are some issue with wifi when start Carplay.
Your case I guess there are problem with Bluetooth connection so reset everything that I mention first.

Hi, Thank you very much for your advice.
I have tried with my spare iPhone. This iPhone have cleared all of settings.
However, Bluetooth connection was failed unfortunatelly. I suppose an issue is coming from Cheerdriving adapter side.
it might have physically broken, but Bluetooth menu show up "ConnectBoxBt_Mazda". so I'm guessing it is software issue. So I'll try it again if new FW is released.

I appreciate your information if you have MX-5 (4x3 display) and CheerDriving adapter.

I use Mazda 3 with MZD, yes this might be problem on adapter side.
I suggest to return this and get a new one. We never know when the new FW will come out.

From my side, My adapter never have problem with bluetooth pairing.

Hi all! I'm new to the wireless carplay adapter game and am having some issues getting it set up. Here is what I'm trying to connect:
  • Adapter: Carlinkit CPC200-U2W-Plus (firmware version 2022-01-14-1903)
  • Phone: iPhone 12 mini (ios 15.3.1)
  • Headunit: Sony XAV-AX3250
I wasn't having any luck getting carplay to work at all with the firmware that came on it (I could see the red UI, but I got an infinite loop of trying to connect- never saw the carplay interface). After updating the Carlinkit to firmware version 2022-01-14-1903 I can connect reliably, carplay shows up on my headunit, and lag time is small, but there is NO AUDIO (no mic, no sound from calls or music).

I've tried resetting, forgetting bluetooth + wifi connections and reconnecting, downgrading firmwares + upgrading again, restarting phone + adapter, etc.

Any ideas on resolving the issue of no audio? Would one of ludwig-v's custom firmwares help with the audio issue?

Thanks!

Now I borrowed the Carlinkit Adapter from two of my friends. One even has the new carbon look 3.0, one 3.0 glossy black.
So i actually test my old 2.0 glossy black, a new 3.0 glossy black and a new 3.0 carbon.

What I noticed is that my own (2.0 old green menu, which I flashed to red) has WPA connectivity. The new 3.0 Carbon also has WPA connection.
The new 3.0 glossy black has WPA2...
All are on the same firmware (2022.01.24) and all have the latest new menu.

All three have Realtek chip and Wifi5.
My old is manufactured 12.2020, the two new are 08.2021

The carbon works fantastical. After a few seconds the red menu will appear and after 25 seconds everything will be connected.

The new 3.0 glossy black sometimes takes 30/35 seconds, sometimes nothing happens after the red menu. Sometimes it also on after 25 seconds.

My old one is sometimes there after 25 seconds, sometimes I don't get a red menu and just a black screen. You don't know if it crashed or if something else is going to happen. But most time it also works good.

For me, the carbon model is the best because it works the most reliably. But there are not so many differences in my test samples.

What puzzles me is why one model has WPA2 and the other only WPA. Does that have advantages now?
My friends said they bought this directly from Amazon at the official Carlinkit store.
My Seat named the WPA "SEATEx" and the WPA2 "SEAT0x". I don't know why...

Sorry for my bad English :)
How do you update from greenUI to redUI on Carlinkit 2.0? I've been trying to figure it out but I haven't had any luck. my Carlinkit 2.0 with greenUI will not let me update to the 12.22.2021 update (OTA or usb stick) it always fails and reboots.

I suspect I will eventually get The red UI screen looping on connecting and it never working when that time comes I will post about it. I will also report after my next 70 minute or greater drive.

I did go ahead and return the cheerdriving because of the frequency that cheerdriving didn’t work just seemed to be higher combined with sharing the vehicles and the Carlinkit handling that very well. Cheerdriving was faster connecting for certain, but I would need to unplug/replug about every third drive.

I did so many unplug replug dances I will share my new solution for that problem as well.

I use this Ankeway AW1006 Adapter. It uses the cheer driving firmware and works great every time never have to touch it. I tried the AW1008 adapter from this listing options as well and it was constantly needing to be plugged and unplugged to be recognized.

Figured I'd share with you guys as the cheerdriving clone AW1006 model is working flawlessly in my VW and Ford. Better than my Carlinkit 2.0 and 3.0 for sure.

Just ordered it. Let’s see how it works with my 2017 Mazda 3. The AW1008 was great at first then became pretty unstable.

"My" 3.0 Carbon test sample has old hardware (like 2.0...WIFIn).
And "My" 3.0 glossy test sample has new hardware (WIFIac).

So ist hard to tell what's the best. In my test today the glossy 3.0 was "the best" and the 3.0 carbon was "very good". Not much different between this two. But also my old 2.0 was "good".

I didn't test music, calls and so on. But with my old 2.0 i never had any problems with that.

I would personally try to get WIFIac when buying a new one. I think in the future there is more to be gained with firmware updates. But if you want carbon, buy carbon...regardless of whether it comes with new or old hardware.

It is also possible that the new hardware will cause problems in the future (heat issue, etc.) and that it is better to buy the old hardware. We all don't know.
do you have a link for the glossy model please.

Unfortunately I don't remember exactly.

I think I did it somehow with the custom firmware from Ludwig. But look for the old posts here in the thread, that was explained somewhere.

Anyone knows how I can get back to the non-Autokit official firmware(2.0 Green UI) from @VLud's 2021.08.24 Autokit custom firmware?
