Is there any advantage to go with Cplay2air then?
If it's just a rebrand, I believe technically speaking there's absolutely no difference?
I’m driving a Kia Niro HEV 2020 and using the Cplay2air without any problrems for over 1 year. Cplay2air with the latest firmware works fine great with the Kia Niro.

Not to be a conspiracy theorist but maybe Apple is deliberately crippling these 3rd party adapters..

Or maybe not

Updated to iOS 15.4
using iPhone 13 mini.
Works like magic since didn’t update the carlinkits 2.0 plus.
2020.11.10.2138 version since then till now.
Driving Honda Civic 2019.

I guess if your dongle is working, don’t need to update. Cheers :)

I try update dongle after when stoped connecting only. After new firmware, I also try some old, but nothing…

I would think they'd want this to work so they can produce a port-less phone and more people would use it because they could still do CarPlay. But who knows

No, actually each iOS update made the connection more reliable. At least with my Mazda.

I’m surprised they don’t sell their own apple wireless CarPlay adapter…

Yes, I have the same problem with my CarLinkit adapter after updating to iOS 15.4 in my Mazda 6, guess it is a iOS problem.
Glad to hear I’m not the only one. Weirdly, I didn’t have this problem on the 15.4 betas - only when the final release came out. Anyone found a solution to getting the hardware Home button working again?

302 pages, quite a lot of demand for Wireless CarPlay !

So I'm in the market for one of these adapters for my Kia Niro PHEV 2021 (which I thought came with wireless CarPlay already - anyways...).

Reading quite a lot of mixed reviews about these things, either 5 stars or 1 star ratings.

If I understand correctly, we have 2 choices : Cplay2air or Carlinkit 3.0, both Chinese. Pricing is around 150 CAD for both.

Is one better than the other ?!

I have a 2022 Sorento PHEV and have had both. The Carlinkit 2 is slightly faster both they’re both pretty similar.

Beware that on my Kia the CarPlay USB port stays powered on 24/7, causing my phone to stay connected to CarPlay while in the house, which causes all sorts of problems. I think it also caused my Carlinkit to fail after 4 months of use since it was on 24/7.

No kidding ! I *just* bought a Carlinkit 3.0 mini, and thought "wow, it works insanely well!"

And tonight I couldn't have my WiFi on my iPhone. I was on 5G, it would connect to CarPlay all the time even though the car is turned off in the garage.

Did you find any solution !? Honestly this is... kind of a deal breaker to manage that all the time when the goal is to simplify things. Especially if it fails after 4 months...

I installed a cord with an on/off switch. Not really a good solution but flipping a switch off is easier than plugging my phone in.

I currently use a Binize Wireless Carplay in my RAV4...wondering if a newer model will work better. The current one takes about 30 seconds to connect and maybe 1 out of 5 times I have to turn it off and on for my phone to connect. do the newer models fare better?

Has anyone tried the new iOS 15.5 beta to see if it fixes the Mazda home button issue introduced by 15.4?

I have this device, I do not know of which company, the red light is on constantly, the wifi does not work and the vehicle does not recognize it, what can I do?

And what can I do about the solid red light?
When did this start to happen? is it a brand new device?

What happens when you plug it into a computer?

Have you tried it with another car?

Try give the latest carlinkit firmware a try. Can be installed via a computer.

Have you tried it with another car? yes

I use the carlinkit 2 in my 2020 Rav4 and about that frequently it won't start up and I have to unplug/replug to get it to work. I actually bought a switched USB cable to make it easier. Thing is before I got this I had the same issue with wired carplay, so it's the car, not the device.

I also have an on/off switch for it right above the QI charging pad for this reason. Glad it’s not just me. Same 2020 hybrid RAV4
