Has anyone with a recent Mazda tried iOS 16beta to see if it fixes the home button issue? My testing phone with the beta seems better, but it doesn’t have data service, so I can’t give it an extended drive test.

(For background, starting with iOS 15.4, the physical Home button on the dash of recent Mazdas including my 2021 CX-5 has stopped working while using a wireless CarPlay adapter. Rebooting the phone will fix it temporarily, but the problem returns within a few minutes.)

I am using iOS 16 beta, the problem has not been resolved.

yes, it has been fixed. If you don't have the latest developer beta. the return button works the same as the Home button.

Hm, that’s promising. I’m on the latest public beta release. The developer beta is usually a week ahead of the PB?

if there are no major bugs in the developer, they will release to the public the next week.

You’ll have to go back to original firmware.

Put this on a USB stick along with these two files in my image (same structure).

To get the two files use this:
Thanks, that work. Now I am on the latest version. Finally callers can hear me, but with this update I cannot hear any music (Podcasts, Spotify,...). I can hear a "click" sound when I am clicking around in the menu, I can hear callers, but no music.

Actually I can hear music as well, but I need to make a call first and then I can hear it, but when I start CarPlay then it does not work.

I am running iOS 15.6.

I can't reconnect if I don't reset.

I can normally start the CP2A in Carplay of the Car. I can also normally connect the iPhone to the CP2A. Everything works great.

However, after turning off the radio or turning off the car, the CP2A does not reconnect to Carplay.

When I turn off the car, the CP2A does not turn off the red light.

I've already tried unplugging and plugging in the USB again. Disconnect the phone from the CP2A's wifi. But he only gets the red light.
The only way to get it working again is to reset within the 192.168.50.2 system.

I've tried looking for updates and I've also run Rollback, but the problem persists.

My car is a chevrolet onix (Brazil) and uses the same radio as the Cavalier, Cruze, Tracker, Prisma.

Try on your iPhone reset network settings:
Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset Network Settings

Try on your iPhone reset network settings:
Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset Network Settings

the problem is not with the iphone connection with Carlinkit. With it I had no problems connecting.

The problem is that Carlinkit only plugs into the car the first time. After configuring with iphone and everything works correctly, after turning off the car, Carlinkit does not connect to the car again. It only reconnects if you reset Carlinkit.

the iphone continues to connect to carlinkit without any problems.

This is the problem. Your car is not cutting power to the USB port when it is turned off. Have you investigated to see if the USB power does eventually turn off (say, after 15-30 minutes) or does the red light stay on indefinitely? You may want to look in the manual or do some searches to see if it's possible to configure the ports to turn off with the ignition.

Check out these posts from back in 2020 from the user @2018 Denali. He had a similar issue and put together a small relay to ensure that power was cut to the CP2A when the car's power was turned off.

Or, if you don't mind a manual step I can very much recommend a small USB switch like this. I keep one of those connected to my Carlinkit so I can easily disable it without having to dig around inside my center console. I turn it off for instance if someone else is driving or if I've forgotten my phone.

Edit: Sorry, I misread your initial post. Looks like the suggestions above would not help in your situation. Have you tried changing any of the settings in the 192.168.50.2 page? You may also need to try rolling back to an even earlier firmware. Are you able to try your adapter in a different vehicle to see if the same problem exists? If it does then maybe your adapter is just defective.

At first I don't know anyone I can test on another car.
However, in this situation several people who own chevrolet (GMC) cars also reported not being able to use it.
ASTRA, ONIX, CAVALIER

As I have two Wireless Adapters working on my Mitsubishi, I purchased a few spares just in case they stop working.

Once I received the Wireless Adapters I spent 1 1/2 days trying to change the firmware to the red ui. Nothing I did would load any new firmware on the Adapter via USB connection. It would Upgrade/Downgrade via 192.168.50.2 only.

The Adapters came with the latest firmware 2022.05.25.1020 (Green UI).

I then decided to try and pair the Adapters in the car and it worked straight away. Unbelievable as we all know Mitsubishi is not on the compatibility list, but that has now changed.

Well if it is happening to others with your same model of car then there may not be anything you can do about it. Over the years there have been several posts from people with cars that had incompatibilities with these types of adapters.

What you should do is contact CarPlay2Air support. Give them your exact model of vehicle and describe in detail what is happening. Even better if you can show them a video of how the CP2A does not work until the adapter is reset. They may ask for you to send them a log file via the 192.168.50.2 web interface.

If others with the same problem can contact support as well then perhaps the developers will figure out what is the issue and fix it in a forthcoming firmware update. But you need to tell them (and even better, show them) the exact problem to make them aware.

Good luck!

yea. I did it. But unfortunately they don't have any kind of return. I made several attempts including installing other firmwares as the sales support guided me.

I gave up. I'm putting it up for sale to someone who can use it without problems.

I ordered an Ux999 Pro to test.

I upgraded to the 2022-06-xx software and now my MX-5 won't recognize the unit. Thankfully I can still connect to it via 192.168.50.2. I will try resetting the unit and worst case, roll it back.

I had a similar issue but when I changed the names of the WiFi and Bluetooth networks in the setting from the 192.168.50.2 screens and reconnected as new device (selecting it is the phones Bluetooth settings and allowing the CarPlay connection i the phone) it has been working great since.

I have had my carlinkit for about 1 year. The upgraded firmware is a must. I saw carlinkitcarplay.com this website store has a very comprehensive FAQ~Maybe it can help.

Hello,

I just got a Carlinkit 3.0 mini White. I have a Skoda Octavia 2021 and after install it everything was fine untill I made a call and the other person didn't hear me. I just check for updates and got one. After I did the update, the time for connecting to the car is very very long. The calls issue was fixed but now I have to wait ~5min for CarPlay starting. I see that the device is connecting to the wifi but after ~5sec is disconnecting and it keeps it like this (connecting-disconnecting) for ~5min when the connection it's stable and CarPlay Wireless is starting. With the previous version the connection was very fast like 5-8sec.
Anyone else had a similar problem?
Sorry for my english!

Thanks!

See my note above about changing the name of the WiFi / Bluetooth network on the dongle. Your new symptoms partially mirror the issues I had with my 3.0 (non mini) device and this fixed it. You have to reconnect the phone like it’s a new connect again.
