CarPlay CarPlay adapter to convert to wireless CarPlay?

My 2.0 is back working but my 4.0 is still bricked. I'm working with them through Amazon for a replacement. We'll see...
I’ve been using the 4.0 with the June update in one of my Mazdas with only about 10% of the time it crashes after connection and or never connects. It’s also slower connect but I chose to keep it because it seems to not have the 70 minute crash that the 3.0 does.Hot off the press - LATEST 4.0 Firmware - 2022.07.29:

Please do not update if you have a 3.0 or earlier device. This is only for 4.0 devices.
I see lots of people having trouble with the July one, does it seem safe to upgrade?
It's been working fine for me ever since their activation servers or whatever that was came back online.
What’s the best, reliable, most compatible as of today?
Done a search on Amazon UK and there are loads of types etc now. Do they all check same sever for updates etc?

I have a Carlinkit 3.0 and today it showed a new version July 2022. I tried to update it via OTA but update failed 
I read that the July 2022 version is only for Carlinkit 4.0. Is this correct? If yes, why was this version showed to me?
Now it was updated to January 2022 but now I have the green UI. How is it possible to update to the red UI?

The general and official advice regardless of model is if it is working satisfactorily then do not update.I have a Carlinkit 3.0 and today it showed a new version July 2022. I tried to update it via OTA but update failed

How can I get that firmware they sent you on Facebook? Mine will not connect since I did the last update.

I upgraded my Carlinkit v2 to the latest firmware, but it was crashing every 20 minutes (my car is a 2020 VW Golf) so I rolled it back.
Now everything works fine (it’s running 2022.01.24.1903) but the connection screen does not have any color. Before the rollback there was the red UI but now the background is black and there are white words. As it connects very fast I can’t do any operation on that screen. I will see on Friday when I receive my new iPhone if I can delete the current one and add the new one.

I have a pretty bizarre observation and was wondering if anyone also encountered this. My carlinkit 3.0 is working almost perfectly fine but always crashes in one single location. Earlier i thought it's time related (because it happened a similar amount of time after leaving home) but apparently it's either some sort of radio interference that appears on that exact road or maybe GPS coordinates are crashing the system somehow. Toggling GPS in settings changes nothing and it does not happen neither in my 2018 BMW, nor in a pretty new Pioneer HeadUnit, both with wireless connection.
lol at this thread. Took a flyer and picked up a Carlinkit 4.0 (at least that's what the Amazon listing said it is). Connects for 2 or 3 seconds and then immediately disconnects.

I'm in the same boat. I would like wireless CarPlay but at the same time, I'm not sure it's worth the aggravation people seem to be having the more research I do on it.
This is a VERY YMV product. For some cars it's completely plug and play and works pretty much without issues. On other cars it only works after fiddling with settings, with crashes, etc.
The way to go on these is get them somewhere you can return them easily.
Step 1) Try it out, if it works fine, don't touch it
Step 2) Update it, repeat step one
Step 3) Either fiddle with settings or return it, depending on how much you want it

Another thing to remember is Updates are not necessary cumulative like ios or Android Updates. When they release a Wireless CarPlay Update they may add a new vehicle for compatibility and completely stuff up all previous working vehicles.
There is a lot of research & reading in these forums trying different adapters and then picking an Update that works for your car. A lot of trial and error.
Also Adapters come in V1, V2, V3, V4 etc. Which one is suitable for your particular Vehicle is another trial and error situation.
But once you get an Adapter & Update that actually works correctly you will not want to go back to Wired CarPlay again.

I knew this will happen. I can't delete my old iPhone so now I have 2 iPhones with the same name. As you can see the interface has lost some colors and buttons. I have some panic about reinstalling the firmware as I had other Carlinkint in the past and it died.
