Carlinkit 3.0 with this C2P Air firmware has been working great in my 2017 Mazda 3 so far. No infotainment reboots or disconnects. Fingers crossed.

Is it definite that the ai box works on new Volvo? My new XC60 was supposed to be delivered last Saturday, fingers crossed for tomorrow.
If it’s running the August software update, then yes.

Thank you. I have reached out to Carlinkit to advise which variant of the Ai Box to buy. Could you post a photo/video of it running please. There will be so many people in the Volvo boards with new cars eager to see this.

Could you copy and paste the content please as you have to be a member of the forum to see the thread. Thanks for finding something though.

Which Mazda CMU version are you running that is working well?

74.00.311

Since my previous post, I have experienced the following:

- one infotainment reboot/crash-
- the adapter didn’t connect automatically once. I thought I would have to unplug/plug it back in but it eventually established the CarPlay connection on its own.

Overall, it’s been working fine. Not expecting 100% performance.

After all the different iPhone Updates currently at ios 16.1 .

I have noticed that my Adapter is getting slow to initialise when starting the car for the first time or not working at all and have had to unplug Adapter and plug it back to get it to work.

So I did some testing by going to 192.168.50.2 and resetting Adapter to factory defaults and then re-installing current firmware via USB.

I have found that after a couple of days the Adapter is again super responsive and loads up quickly.

I am wondering whether these Adapters retain some sort of Settings with each ios Update via CarPlay.

Generally I find resetting network settings after an iOS update to be the best solution

Thanks for the tip. I’ll try it next time. However I hate to reset iPhone Network settings as it means I have to re-enter passwords again, but if it works it is a safer option than re-installing Adapter’s firmware, in case it bricks the adapter.

i bought a carplay2air a while back and it never really worked. I just got it back out and i am trying to update it to see if i can use it, but its the same. I cannot update it or use it.

it says it has 2020.06.01.0837 which i cannot even find any info about it!(see pic for more info)

when it get it to connect(after 10 or more tries) using wireless carplay, i cannot go into the local IP to update it. When i check the wifi IP settings on my phone with the box, for "router" space is empty.

I have tried multiple USB drives(2gb to 64gb), formatted it using windows and sdcard formatter and nothing.

I also tried changing the title of the files to U2W_ZYD_Update.img, U2W_Update.img, U2W_AUTOKIT_Update.img, and U2W_CP2AIR_Update.img and nothing happens.

I’ve ordered the AI box. Fingers crossed it works. Waiting on shipment now.

If you remote start your car and then go get in, will carplay still connect or would you have to be in the car from when it started?

Your phone would need to be in the car, otherwise it will turn on, not find your device and sit at the screen awaiting for a device to connect.

update: this is still the best FW combo so far in my 2017 Mazda 3.

Note: I have the Carlinkit adapter but flashed the carplay2air FW.

Hi! I recently bought the new carlinkit 4.0 but when i connect i only can see the message : "Hardare Error:" .I tried to reset and to rollback to previous firmware version but i didn't fix it. Do you know if it's posisible to solve this error? Thank you. I remember ludwig had a space with firmwares but i think it was for carlinkit 2.0 and are not suitable for my 4.0

I have noticed the same thing too, and I'm wondering why there are not more people complaining about this! I am stuck at an older version of the firmware because of a failed upgrade attempt last year. I was going to leave it be since it was working again thanks to @tonust but now it's not working so maybe time to update the firmware?

Looks like I'm stuck at 21.07.05.2308, with no way to update OTA. What's the next firmware file I can/should try to get my device up to date? Thanks in advance

I have a 2012 Escape with a Sony XAV-AX100. It works with both the Carlinkit 3.0 and the CPlay2Air.

I bough the CPlay2Air first because they emailed me directly to tell me that it works with my head unit. I had issues getting it to work (their tech support was no help) but found this forum thread had the answer :update the firmware using a USB drive first (CPlay2Air's support never suggested this). I think I had initial success with the August 2020 firmware, later versions had reliability issues. I also had to set a boot delay in the settings because at first it wouldn't work properly when I turned the car on, but I could get it to work if I connected it after turning on the car.

The Carlinkit seems a little faster and more reliable, however their tech support was also pretty poor. I didn't have to change any settings to get it to work.
Old post but is your head unit a ax100 or ax1000?

Is the 2022-01-24 firmware the latest for this device, or has anyone seen anything newer?
You can see the latest firmware here:

Someone noticed that Google Assistant doesn't work properly with carlinkit 4.0? I see logo appears at the screen but afther that should appear coulour bars moving expecting some order from de user, but this doesn't happen

Thanks, but I don't see firmware for the U2W there. Am I missing something?
