Oh man, I just bought an iPhone 13P that’s been updated to iOS 16. Hopefully I don’t have any issues connecting to my Carlinkit with C2PAir FW…
I also use an iPhone 13P and the new ios 16.1.2 is working great. I also hope your fw is working great too.

Is anyone else experiencing issues with Google maps now on the dongles or witless CarPlay in general? At first waze was a major issue and I deleted that app over a year ago and google maps worked just fine. Now over the past couple months I noticed google maps would freeze and have a major delay on CarPlay. The only maps app that works for me now is Apple Maps.

Hi! I recently bought the new carlinkit 4.0 but when i connect i only can see the message : "Hardare Error:" .I tried to reset and to rollback to previous firmware version but i didn't fix it. Do you know if it's posisible to solve this error? Thank you. I remember ludwig had a space with firmwares but i think it was for carlinkit 2.0 and are not suitable for my 4.0

Thanks for this I have CarPlay 2 air in my car and the Carlinkkit in my wife’s car. Both of them are the original from back in 2019. I don’t have that menu option. I have the old one and there’s no way for me to upgrade, it doesn’t say that there’s an upgrade available.

I have the Carlinkit 4.0, 3.0 and 2.0. The 2.0 with older software (jan 22) works great in my car (Skoda Scala). The 3.0 however not. It is on the newest software (03.11) but it is having trouble booting correctly. The 4.0 (Seat Ibiza) is currently on 04.11 software and is working well. I'm only facing an issue when switching from Apple to Android and vice versa. After switchting, the first connection freezes. Unplugging and plugging in solves the problem. Google assistant is also hearing me with this update, but the music keeps playing so you do not hear what the assistant says.

I also had that issue. Via USB, I updated the dongle to this version 09.27. I have the file, but can not upload here. This version was not working well for me, but I was then able to downgrade to 07.29 which was fine using the web interface.

Yeah, it says if Problem not resolved? to Submit help online.

The best you can do is provide them with all information and Submit a fault. Maybe you will get lucky and they will release an Update firmware. Worth a try.

Still looking…. Been on the site with reviews, there is that many that you don’t know if it’s the same version.

Definitely going Amazon though, for the possibility of returns.

Cheapest I can find is a no brand one for £50 https://amzn.eu/d/ioGYa7o haven’t seen this one anywhere.

Not sure if I fancy a AI, or whatever called, with some streaming, but these seem to be much more money? Anyone see any on Amazon UK?

Thanks

or

These have been working well for me in my Ford and VW.

Note: to install update on these types

1.) Shut off bluetooth on your iPhone
2.) Plug the dongle into a USB power source (NOT THE CARPLAY PORT ON CAR)
3.) Connect to the dongle's WiFi using pw: 88888888
4.) Visit 192.168.2.1
5.) Upgrade or rollback at the bottom of the menu.
6.) Once complete it will ask you to unplug the dongle and you can turn on your iPhone's bluetooth and move the dongle back to your CarPlay USB port.
7.) Once your wireless CarPlay connection is established you can check that the update took or change any dongle settings available by going back to 192.168.2.1

Hope that helps!

Try ensure GPS is turned on and video but rate is set to 6.

I purchased two of these, one for my car (2018 CRV EXL) and one for the wife’s car (2019 CRV EXL) a couple of years ago:

I little expensive but zero issues since day one. She had a 13PM and I have a 14PM. We both started with 11PM when we got them. Great device.

I see QuadLock has recently released a wireless adapter. Curious to see if anyone has tried it.

OK it’s running OK on iOS 16.1.2 but the CarPlay UI transitions are not as smooth compared to iOS 15.7.1

What carlinkit FW are you running? Also can’t recall what car you have.

Hi c47v3770

I have a Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross running Carlinkit fw 2022.06.08.1109 (Red UI), which may not be suitable for your car.

I also made a Post about Updating ios & Adapter getting slow to initialise see message #7,880. Maybe that may help.

@TireGuy6 Nice work on your interface... I went a different route and matched my infotainment systems interface (font, layout, colors) -- it's very minimal and seamless. Since I have background mode enabled, I only see this screen if my phone is not with me or there is some network issue.
Hi Mavro. Really like this theme you’ve created. How would I do the same, or would you be open to sharing your files?

Someone with carlinkit 4.0 can tellme wich firmware is using with his mazda and if is it working properly? Currently i’m having troubles with black screen when my phone is connected and music is stuttering the most part of time

After connecting to (carlinkit 4.0)CP2A's Wi-Fi, use your mobile browser to enter 192.168.50.2.

Turn on the Backstage Mode. Set the frame rate to 20, or adjust the resolution. Hope that can help you.

CPlay2Air wanted me to ship my device back to China and pay for shipping of a new replacement back to me, which would have ended up costing just as much as a new adapter, so I decided to move away from that brand. They didn't understand the rootfs problem and they claim my device is defective (although it works 'ok' on the latest sub ~12mb firmware).

I ended up getting a Carlinkit 4.0, which I might return. It works, but there are small things that irk me which I have tried multiple settings to fix, like the car not automatically launching into carplay. Even worse, the Amazon page for the device is now gone, so it doesn't give me confidence in the manafacturer/reseller.

I'll have to do more research to find something in a decent price range that has better support overall.

Don't waste time trying to get it to work. Either it works or it doesn't for your car. Unless you have read it is working on someone with an identical car, don't bother.

I have been on the sideline for 2 years before someone got it working with their Mazda. I got one 3 years ago and seldom have any issue with it that an unplug/replug didn't fix.

I got news about carlinkit 4.0. I hope this info helps someone with a mazda.

I'm a owner of a Mazda 6 2018 with a 70.xxx.xx original firmware version. I own a carlinkit 2.0 with a March 2021 firmware version and it works OK and with my new carlinkit 4.0 it seems that with September 2022 firmware version it works pretty good too.

The only error i get always is in certain points of the road that stutter my audio and rarely reboots my carlinkit

As for the people that have stutter or disconnects in the exact same place on their drives it can be that radar installations disrupt some 5ghz Wi-Fi channels.

I am having an issue with Carlinkit 4 cpc200-cp2a after having OTA software update device died (no red or green led)
after following the BIOS flashing instructions from https://github.com/ludwig-v/wireless-carplay-dongle-reverse-engineering
now the device has a constant red LED connecting to the wall brick with no WI-FI or Bluetooth and refuses to accept FW via the offline method, have tried different versions of FW with no luck, any help?

As far as I know, ludwig has no firmwares for 4.0 devices, only has 3.0 firmwares. So its possible you put the wrong firmware
