@VLud I saw the GitHub for the custom firmware.

Currently, I have the U2W stock version 1.24. Are the custom firmware fix the stability connection between iPhone, faster boot up?

What is AUTOKIT?

I guess I have to install in this order?

Autokit version is simply the RED UI Menu. It is faster to load because it does not have to render the UI every time it loads like the Green Menu UI does. (U2W = Green UI, U2W Autokit = Red UI)

Hope this helps.

I have the C2PlayAir (bought it in 2021) here, not CarLinkit. All these numbers, which one I should go for? 2 or 3? I am curious what is 3 (green UI?)

Is the Small_rootFS actually for early adopter version of C2PlayAir? I am not the first adopter.

I was in contact with the C2PlayAir support last year, they sent me the original firmware to fix my bricked update. The firmware file is 12.5mb, so I assume I don't have the 10mb device.

Unfortunately I don’t have C2PlayAir. Please be very careful what you load because it is very easy to brick your Adapter.

Wow what in the hell UI is that? My V4 just has the white interface on the web.
My device still on activation screen i flashed all of yours .bin files flash newest firmware by usb I can manage by site but nothing carplay and android auto cannot get started

Your serial number is probably blocked by Carlinkit, install September update and give us your S/N from the interface.

Just for fun I tried to flash to V4 an old CP2AIR unit (2020), it didn't work (but it does boot), they completely removed Realtek RTL8822BS drivers from the FW of V4 U2AW

I done activation! Only possible by iPhone. Activation screen never gone by android phone when I try logged to interface connected to car. Carplay and androidauto works fine again

My V3 is now a V4 :)

Workflow:
Flashed my second dump of V4 (I updated to 2022.12.26)
My V3 booted up, got Wifi BT Hardware Error
Flashed largest FW (U2AW 2022.07.29) containing all Wifi drivers, waited for the LEDs to stop flashing (screen was still showing Hardware Error)
It rebooted
Got Activation screen, logged in on 192.168.50.2
Updated the FW
And voila !

You can get the direct dump to upgrade your V3 to V4 here
Interesting! So this can work for any 3.0 adapter to make 4.0? Does Android Auto work on a 3.0 after this?

Please can you outline the steps do I format FAT32 and load the dump on its own? Then open 192.168.50.2 to update OTA?

I’ve recently changed from Carlinkit to Ottocast and it works well.

As I have a Android Automotive based Volvo car the older Carlinkit units didnt work any more. The Ottocast does

Ottocast just looks like a rebranded Carlinkit 🤣 (Same interface just a different theme, same box format, "U2" name too)

my ottocast u2-now has two ports, one usb-C for connection, and a USB-A for firmware update and charge if needed. my car come with USB-C port for wired car-play connection. I can use factory provided usb-A-to-usb-C cable with usb-A female-to-usb-C dongle or third party usb-C-to-usb-C cable directly without dongle.
my question is: if I permenantly plug the iPhone charge cable on adapter's USB-A port, only factory provided cable can bootable. All third party cable cannot boot unless I unplug iPhone charge cable before power the car or plug in. Once powered, then plug iPhone charge cable in will be fine.
Tried total 5 different brands of usb-c-to-usb-c cables all have same issue. Anyone experience this before?

For the record only Carlinkit 4.0 is compatible with Volvo radios.

Ugh. Well, my CarLinkit, which had been working perfectly in my Mazda CX-5 for over a year and a half just stopped working today. The light still comes on but... nothing. I can't connect to the web interface (the Wi-Fi network still shows up) nor does it respond to the USB upgrade method. I'm guessing it's toast.

Any suggestions for jumpstarting this thing?

I'll likely just deal with plugging in for a bit, but... any suggestions on newer models? Should I go with the 3.0 or jump ship to Ottocast or something else? Reviews are all over the place.

Is there a solution to get phone dialls by knob from sterring wheel? I can only answer and end calls by knob. There no call history on the dashboard when I roll knob up and down. I can get dialls only from phone aplication. Same problem in carplay and androidauto mode. Checked sync and knob to all. Car Seat Leon 2019 ,carlinkit 4.0. Any help?

Interesting. I have the v2. I was able to connect to the web interface (192.168.50.2) last night and upgrade the firmware, but when I plug it in the CarPlay option still does not show up in my car. I know these things happen, but I always think it's interesting when I haven't changed a thing that technology goes so ridiculously awry.

So did you need additional hardware/software to reprogram/flash it?

Well looks like wrong firmware, You need hardware like ch341a with clip see photo need open case of Your V2 take a clip to MX25L12835F chip. I used software asprogrammer. Erase, then You should choose right dump file to Your V2. Reprogram it's simple to do. Quide how to reprogram is on YouTube. Goodluck ;)
