Probably the activation servers are down? I have also tried to add the dongle with 2.0 firmware to my Alfa Romeo Giulia MY19 and got on mobile the message "Product is not activated (20)".
Hope Carlinkit get the situation fixed as soon as possible.

Today activation was possible... mabye there was really some server problems.
But sound quality playing Apple Music App is really terrible, lots of crackling static noise.
Firmware version 2020.01.16.1737

Same issue with Audio as well

2018 GMC Sierra audio shuttering with new update.

All I need is map volume to work like it does on text and phone calls and shuttering fixed.

I will never update after those 2 things are done.

Updated Jeep 19’ wrangler today to latest. Audio perfect. No side effects.
Only thing that sucks is the release notes said it optimized the instrument cluster dashboard but Jeep still shows only “Apple CarPlay” not the song playing.

Install google maps. In settings theres an option to adjust voice volume. Maybe try this if you havent tried.

As for stuttering, everyone keep submitting bug reports so they know and can fix it or roll back the failed update.

Does yours display song information when wired? Mine doesn't 😔

I hope @CarlinKit adds an option to install any of the previous versions if needed, that would be really nice and solve the problem if an update breaks something.

Did they finally get the steering wheel controls fixed for track and volume?

Do Carlinkit and carplay2air “owner” use the dongle because they must experience Audio stuttering like many of us. Why haven’t they released a new update immediately.

Give them a day or two to see the reports and issue a fix (provided everyone is using the included report function).

For some of us the last update works fine.

today’s update is not good, connecting to the car is taking multiple manual interventions.

Jeez. It does call to mind the old engineering adage that those who live by the cutting edge of technology die by the cutting edge of technology...

I wish I could downgrade a few version. At this point it's unusable for me with how often (and quickly) it crashes. Seems to get worse with each software update that they push to fix issues with other brands of car.

With all due respect, in a very real sense we are all software testers here. :(

That’s very true, I am used to not being able to use bigger more important bits of kit properly while testing is going on. Just have to work through it sometimes.

Knowing the differences in Carplay on each car (it seems each manufacturer designs it totally different) it's not like Carlinkit devs have it easy.

In any case, I totally respect them as they are constantly improving the product and trying to fix the issues.

Heck, how many of you bought the dongle and your car was listed as compatible in the product page? Mine wasn't listed so I took the risk and just a few days after reporting my issues they were already fixed 👍

Have fait and keep reporting, hopefully soon everyone will have a fully functional experience 🤗

Dunno if you are a classical music fan, but this long unending thread puts me in mind of the title of Bach's Cantata No. 146 "Wir müssen durch viel Trübsal in das Reich Gottes eingehen". I suspect that the composer must have had significant experience with a faulty USB dongle for his horse and carriage.

Is the software version 2019.11.11 displayed in the bottom right corner?
If yes, you should first install the latest version
Thanks for the reply.

how can I install it? It wong get passed the connecting stage so I can’t go to the IP address?

This is where I’m stuck.
iit connects to Bluetooth and then i look on WiFi and I get a new WiFi channel but it doesn’t connect, if I try manually it asks for a password which I don’t know.

if disconnected from everything (WiFi and Bluetooth) devices and restarted the whole process with deleting my iPhone from the carplay aswell.

no luck
