This is where I’m stuck.
iit connects to Bluetooth and then i look on WiFi and I get a new WiFi channel but it doesn’t connect, if I try manually it asks for a password which I don’t know.

if disconnected from everything (WiFi and Bluetooth) devices and restarted the whole process with deleting my iPhone from the carplay aswell.

no luck

Volvo XC90 with Factory Carplay.
I plugged in and Wifi comes up and unit displays wifi as "N/A-xxx" but broadcasts as "AutoBox-xxx". I join "AutoBox" but unable to activate. I've tried for the last few days with no success. I contacted Carlinkit and they told me they were "under attack" and to give them 2 days to fix their servers. It looks like several people had success yesterday so I'll keep trying. From looking at their site someone is making counterfeit units so I suspect the activation is in result of that. Still annoying.

I tried in a friend's audi and the unit displays wifi as "Audi-xxx" which matches the broadcast of "Audi-xxx". Still unable to activate in their car but now in my car it tells me "N/A-xxx" but broadcasts "Audi-xxx". Ahh!! I'm hoping this mismatch in my Volvo will not cause activation issues. I'll have to share this with them too as it appears whatever it pulls from my vehicle is invalid.

Adapter just came in 2019 accord sport. I get a message saying enable Apple car play for this device. Hit enable and nothing else happens. No Bluetooth connection shows up or anything after this message.

Solid red light is the only thing I see on the dongle the whole time.

What about your phone? You have to connect your phone to the dongle via Bluetooth . If it’s the old original firmware you may not get any other messages.

See if your phone can see and connect to it via Bluetooth

Yep, I get the same on my 2018 accord sport. Now I get to go through the return process because they claimed it’s supported when it’s not.

Try to apply the 2.0 update and check if that fixes your problem.

At that point, can you access "192.168.50.2" on your phone? Is the latest update installed?

Do these updates actually apply to the CPLAY2AIR adapter too? See attached photo.

i have tried to update formatting my flash drive to fat32 and adding the disk image file to the root directory, but i never get any blue light flashing when plugged into the power supply basically the only thing that happens is I get a solid red light nowthibg else...

They should as it's the same device. However, you may already have 2.0 firmware installed (maybe they upgraded before shipping or it is a new batch). In that case, the usb update won't do anything 🤔

Sandisk Cruzer didn’t work for me either - try a different flash drive, smaller capacity ones seem to be better than larger.

I had to try 4 or 5 before I found one that worked OK

Should a bluetooth device show up when plugged in a power supply eventually?

I wish I could downgrade a few version. At this point it's unusable for me with how often (and quickly) it crashes. Seems to get worse with each software update that they push to fix issues with other brands of car.

I’m just curios, when was the last time you checked to see that your cars firmware was up to date?

I bought a Carplay2air to use on my Canadian 2018 Mazda 6, the unit arrived and after a few intents I was able to pair my phone and the vehicle. Also I downloaded the latest software upgrade ver 2020.01.18.2149, but the problem is that the Carplay2air connects with my car randomly, for every 10 tries the dongle connected one or two times fine and it is usable (Music, Maps, Phone calls, etc).
The rest of the time just says “Apple Carplay Failed” on my car infotainment and never reach the Bluetooth connection page.
I removed all the phones paired with my cars’ Bluetooth. I rebooted my iPhone SE, the wifi and Bluetooth are "on".
Any suggestions on what else I could do to connect with my Mazda 6 on the first try, please?

Thanks,

2018 GMC Sierra. With today’s update The audio shuttering is repaired. steering wheel controls now work also!! Yeah yeah!!!!! Down to just the map volume not working like it does with text message or phone calls. It’s stuck on very low. I have downloaded Google maps that one doesn’t work either.

great!

regarding google maps, did you try going into settings>volume and try to adjust when it is talking?

Yes but it doesn’t allow me to put the volume up. It says do use the automobile volume controls while google maps voice is on. But it doesn’t work with the steering wheel volume control or the stereo volume control.

Today’s build fixed the crackling noise and so far with about 10 mins driving time, song/track information works fine on Audi Virtual Cockpit display. That’s it, I think I’m gonna stay on this build until dual-screen support :p.

I have the exact same problem with my Mazda 2017.
Frist i thought it was my adapter that was defective but now i have read about more Mazda owners with this problem.
Guess we will have to hope for an update to fix this problem, it is so annoying that it only works like 2 out of 10 times.
