The cplay2air adapter works pretty good with my Peugeot 3008 too But I have the NAC system in my Peugeot, obviously the adapter works better with it than with the RCC.
Mine is NAC too. So it looks like that’s why some of us Peugeot owners are having success and others aren’t.The cplay2air adapter works pretty good with my Peugeot 3008 too But I have the NAC system in my Peugeot, obviously the adapter works better with it than with the RCC.

I confirm, also my car disconnets all Bluetooth when wired to CarplayMy car disconnects all bluetooth connections (it allows 2 phones at the same time) when connecting to Carplay (wired or wireless) so it's a thing that may be different for each vehicle.
In any case, I think that the phone might not allow carplay+bluetooth in the same way that it disables "ipod" music support when carplay is enabled.
NAC (Continental) with Navigation and RCC (bosch) no Navigation
maybe it works on NAC but not RCC, looks like it based on your experience
i unfortunatley have the RCC
I have RCC on my Peugeot 5008 so i guess this is the deal breaker, i just hope they'll fix it soon
Like with Jeeps and other cars: it's not a matter of brand, but rather the specific head unit on the car. Even same car/year can have different manufacturers (batch, different plants, etc). And althogh it may look like the same, they are not.
My hope is that it will eventually get fixed. Mostly there is a common issue that is plaguing several different brands of cars/head units.
Try reflashing the image using a FAT32 USB.
Download the U2W_Update.img from here http://112.74.112.110/download/2020-01-22/ and put it on a completely empty FAT32 USB stick. Plug the USB stick into the dongle, then plug the dongle into an iphone charger...not the car...and wait for both LED's
I have done this before, the image from the download site lets you upgrade via USB but not downgrade.
...how can we help in order to speed up things here, any idea ?
That's the million dollar question. I've tried talking to both "Julie" and "Michael" and they both simply ignored all my offerings to help/test any fix.
My guess that this is a product developed by yet another set of folks that gets distributed by CarLinkit and Carplay2Air. So they actually may have no participation in the development of the firmware. Why? None of their answers were technical.
I've had one of these for almost two weeks. It rarely connects without help. By help, I usually have to reboot my car's infotainment center. It usually works after that. Every so often, I have to unplug/plug the device to get it to work.
It also causes my car's infotainment system to reboot out of the blue every so often. Not a lot, but it has happened 3-4 times.
I think it causes delay in different areas. Like when talking on the phone, we're always talking over each other. I now think it is caused by the carplay2air. It also takes longer than usually for podcast audio to return after a GPS app pauses it to give directions. Last, when I hit the 60 second skip button on a podcast, it takes a long time for the audio to actually skip. Tested again wired and this delay is not there.
I would love for this thing to work, but it's just not ready for prime time yet.
I order this on Christmas, and finally received it today. Slow shipping...
Anyway, tried it in a 2016 Silverado, and it worked but there were some audio glitches. I figured I would update to the latest firmware and now it won't connect at all.
I tried all the steps in the firmware upgrade posts. I get the blue led, but when I plug it back into the truck, nothing..
Try to run the OTA update with it plugged into a different car. That may solve the issue.
Alternatively run the update process again using the file linked here as its the latest build.
Can we use the USB Upgrade method for the latest firmwares?
Or USB upgrade works only for the initial upgrade to v 2.0?

With my truck I have to open the driver door, close the driver door then let the stereo boot up then last start the truck. It’s a few extra seconds but works every time.
2018 GMC Sierra.
My 2019 Miata worked for a few minutes, disconnected, and has never reconnected. Sending it back soon. Far from ready for prime time. I have seen a number of other problem reports from Mazda owners. Has anyone with a Mazda had continuing success?2019 Mazda CX-5
Thanks. I tried that too. 😥
When I retrofitted CarPlay into the Tahoe, I learned all about the nuances of the HMI system staying activate well past an ignition cycle.
Does the dongle boot up when you open the drivers door? Do you have it connected to the center console or dash?
I tried in both locations, however, in the 2016 Silverado, CarPlay only works from the USB ports inside console.
In the Tahoe retrofit, I only replace the front USB port, because 2015's did not have OTG USB ports (which CarPlay needs to activate).
And when the HMI is in a complete powered down state, the dongle will power up when the door is opened, key is put into accessory, or the remote lock is pressed.
