Anyone using the adapter in a Peugeot 508 II? Can you tell me which is not working even after updating? Are there disadvantages like mentioned in the thread (glitches, music volume not getting lower during Navi announcment, etc)
Thanks in advanced

Anyone who has CarLinkIt that works, mine never has, if you plug in the dongle, then an iPhone lead, so you get wired CarPlay work ok?

No. Then it needs the same connections as with wireless CarPlay.
The only difference is that the iPhone is charging.

Just seen this posted elsewhere in regard to new orders going out. I wonder if the developers aren’t going into work too, hence the lack of updates which Alan and I had put down to Chinese New Year.

FYI - received the below response.:

Thank you for your purchase. I assume you have been wondering when the CPLAY2air adapter will reach you and why it has not been shipped out yet? The case is due to the huge demand and influx of the orders, our CPLAY2air adapters were SOLD OUT. The new stock supposed to arrive this Tuesday, but as you may already know, the Coronavirus has paralyzed half of the world freight services and our freight from Hong Kong can't be exported until the 9th of February because of quarantine extension. We will start shipping all orders on the 10th of February, but if the situation will get better quicker, we will be able to ship it sooner. If you have any other questions and concerns, please contact us at info@carplay2air.com. Do not reply to this email, because we will not receive your inquiry.

Thank you very much for your understanding and patience,
Michael

Does your car has a factory navigation system and a factory CarPlay? In that case it will probably work.
I have a 5008 from late 2019 without a factory navigation system and mine does not work at all even with the latest firmware

Carplay2air has updated the homepage (https://carplay2air.com) with these additions.

Not an issue if they are clearly stating order delivery times.

Which they're not doing especially on the website. I ordered over a week ago and only got an email yesterday saying they won't have stock until at least the 9th Feb due to the caronavirus which is fair enough but I can't see anywhere on the website where it states this yet they've updated the website to show more devices it is compatible with.

I think the bigger issue is they are working on support for more head units, when it doesn't work on all the ones they claim it works on now.

It says Jeep 2019 on website, true or not for a 2019 Jeep Cherokee?

Personally would take with a pinch of salt. Says Vauxhall 2016-2019, but it doesn’t....

It’s very hit and miss. Even updates sometimes break things that worked before reading on here.

Hi, I’m thinking about buying it for my SEAT Leon (it has only cable CarPlay) but I’m afraid that it might cause any issues. It’s not actually a cheap product.

has anyone faced any kind of issue with Audi/seat/VW/Skoda units? As I assume they all probably share the same unit.

I use the adapter on my MIB2 Golf7 fl without any problems. Leon should be the same.

I have also the MIB2, how long do you have it? Have you experience any kind of issues or whatsoever? Because somehow, I feel some limitations in the CarPlay, for example, I can't scroll on the contacts on the driving wheel scroller, I have to manually scroll through the MIB2 screen (which is not very practical).

I'm still considering this as an option, but I must say, not having it as wifi makes me almost never use it at all.

well how are they getting away with it and people are still buying them. $240AUD from here.

I got my adapter in 1. january week. Normally i use Siri on Carplay so no need on bottons on my steering wheel.

As they say it will work, when doesn’t, say wait for update. To send it back costs a lot of money, which they don’t pay, so think a lot keep it and hope. Like I have.

Hi Miguel, I am using the carplay2air adapter since some weeks with my Golf 7.5R / Discover Pro and I have to say, that the adapter is NOT working properly. Mabye reason is iPhone 11 Pro, I will test it the next days with an iPhone 8. Basically the connection is established very fast, BUT after 5-10min usage the connection between CarPlay and the iPhone seems to be getting very slow.

Slow means: delays on the CarPlay UI, stuttering audio or Siri. Latest firmware is already applied.
At the moment I will wait for a new firmware and will do the test with another iPhone.

Thank you for the input.

For the price and time being, I'll just stick without it. It would be great if Apple came out with a reliable dongle for this, because as we can see, that's not a hardware limitation.

It's sad that I have a mk3.5 Leon with CarPlay, but for me, it's like if I don't have it at all. Using cables on the car with a built in QI charger feels wrong and MIB2 bluetooth calls, music and GPS works flawlessly, why risk more than 100€ for something that won't work most of the time.

The only thing I like most on Apple CarPlay is the fact that you can use 3rd party apps (Waze, Spotify) and a better UI overall, other than that, is just a gimmick.

Yes, I agree to this. Thats why I gave it a try. Although CarPlay is working great wired, I am not using it because of inconvenience. Let's find out if a new software version can fix the current issues. In case the performance of the adapter would be reliable over time (not only some minutes) I would give it a clear recommendation.
