I remembered this post of yours from before. Did you try setting the time delay to zero? As long as that is cutting power to your car's USB ports (and thus the Carlinkit) then it should be the functional equivalent of unplugging and replugging the adapter.

Set the delay to zero and it appears to have worked.

How do I get mine to work, it worked for 5 minutes then it did an update and now it doesn’t work at all? I have a 2018 GMC Sierra. Thanks

Out of interest where is this setting?

I have a Maserati. In the infotainment setting, I have an entry for Engine Off settings and within that I have a Power Delay option I can change from 0-30 minutes. So when set to 0 seconds, when I kill the engine, everything goes dark, when set to >0, when I kill the engine, the head unit/radio stays powered until I open the door. I did think that opening the door killed the power no matter what the setting was, but may be wrong. I need to look at the red light on the unit with the new setting and see if it dies when I kill the engine. Not 100% sure this worked yet.

On some cars, power will only shut down 1-once the engine is off, 2-a door is open and close and 3-the car is look (you know the moment you see the interior light dim off ... maybe you car is managing power this way ...

On the Volvo, changing tracks etc. Work with V1 but you cant answer and end calls from the steering wheel. Also the auxiliary display in the dash or heads up don’t display. V2 solves both these issues. Hence me ordering one to replace my V1.
All of those features work for me on v1 with my Audi RS3 and Q7, including showing track info, compass etc on the Audi Virtual Cockpit.

I’m fairly certain this is how my car works exactly. In addition, when I’m near my car with my FOB in my pocket the car “wakes up”.

Ok my new dongle just arrived and I can confirm something has to be different.

I now have a device I am really happy with, calls display in the dash and the HUD and the calls can now be answered and ended from the steering wheel.

Happy days

Which firmware version is installed?

I'll try tonight. Thanks for the heads up on the Honda update. I have the car2air with 3/6/20 manual update. I can try the WiFi update on my car for the first time. 2019 Accord Touring

I sent the following question to the CarPlay2air team:
"Why has there been no update since 2020-01-22?“

The answer was:
"Our engineering team is working on the next huge update so please stay tuned. They are working on it to release this as soon as possible. Thank you!"

We'll see what happens.

Hi,
I just got CarPlay 2air. I can't get it to work with my 2019 Silverado. Says plug and play, but nothing shows up on my truck screen. I have a red light at the bottom of the adapter and that's it. I rebooted the phone like 5 times and even used another usb and still nothing. I also turned off the truck and back on. Any ideas, on how to get it to work? I'm lost!!
Thanks, Jerry

Have a look through the thread you may need to do the USB update.

Just thought I would give an update after about 10 days using the original old style CarPlay2Air. It's actually working very well using the 1.22 FW. My connecting issues after a brief stop and start have worked themselves out. I did find that my power delay settings really didn't matter as when I open the door, the power is cut no matter what the delay was set to. The delay basically keeps power to the car while sitting in it until you open the door. So all good there. Unfortunately, I have not been able to test the phone functionality, no one calls me!!!

My only issue, and minor, is a brief audio drop when playing songs every now and then. It's almost like a brief signal interference. It's a split second and is random.

Looking forward to the Carlinkit 2.0 to see if this is resolved. It appears to be on a plane to the US. China tracking leaves a lot to be desired.
