tried to update my 2019 accord touring with new software via wifi and it says my software is up to date, when Its not. So I don't know if it helps connectivity with car2play

Same problem for my 2018 Honda Accord Touring, Canada. My Audio System version is 18AA-1945-001 and it says up to date.

New to this Carplay stuff since I just got a 2020 Kia Soul Ex with wired CarPlay and want to go wireless.

Point #1: As of time of posting this message The "LOYALTY" coupon code still works for a $40 discount on CARPLAY2air. I didn't complete the order but it took off $40. Never previously ordered so thanks to the person who originally posted it especially if I end up ordering it.

Point #2) This thread has me totally confused. We are talking about multiple different dongles so reading this thread it is just about impossible to tell which device anyone is referring to. :)

Question #1) CURRENTLY which dongle seems to be working the best? I started reading the 90 pages and 2000+ messages but gave up.

Question #2) Is the Carlinkit (or whatever) basically a rebranded CARPLAY2air? As of now with the coupon the latter is the "bargain" pricewise.

Thanks!

The code will work, but word of caution, don't order from them. The website makes it look like they are in the US, they are not. I received my unit from them and it was/is DOA. After going back and forth with them, they provided an address to ship it back to China, at my expense. Their DE address is a UPS store mailbox. The parent company is Solutions4auto.

They are just a shell company that is reselling the Carlink product, might as well buy it direct.

They're all the same thing. Carlinkit is the original--Carplay2Air is just a rebranded Carlinkit. There is some question about what differences are present in the (just-released) new design of the Carlinkit--only a couple of people here have them so far and they report buttons working in their car that didn't work with the original Carlinkit/Carplay2Air. Yet the manufacturer has claimed that the only differences in the new design are a different LED and detachable cable. And for many of us (myself included), all the buttons and functions work properly even with the original Carlinkit adapter. So it really remains to be seen exactly what differences/advantages there are with the new design.

Unless you know for a fact that the Carlinkit/Carplay2Air works with your exact vehicle/configuration I would be very cautious to order from CarPlay2Air (unless you don't have a problem with keeping/reselling the adapter if it's not compatible with your car). Returning a Carplay2Air involves shipping it to China at your expense and paying a restocking fee. Same thing with Carlinkit ordered via AliExpress or non-Prime Amazon. If you want the ease of returning it then I highly suggest paying the extra $$ to buy it from Amazon using the Prime listing (Link: https://www.amazon.com/Carlinkit-Wireless-Compatible-Mercedes-Benz-Volkswagen/dp/B085VVCLKR).

Edit: Here's a link to the new design if you want to consider that--note it's not Prime shipping so you'll be waiting a while for it to arrive from China and will have to hassle with shipping it back there if you need to return: https://www.amazon.com/Carlinkit-Wireless-Activator-Compatible-Volkswagen/dp/B086JN1SGX

CarPlay2Air is a rebranded Carlinkit. The new one so far seems to be the most improved. It’s the one with the lights on the front and the usb c cable.

OK, so I inquired to their customer service "team" ;) about the new 2.0 Carlinkit device working on my Nissan Murano. Explained to them that I have the twin product CarPlay2Air device that works in my Lexus but not in the Murano. Below is the 2 answers they provided.... which means we can still expect compatibility issues with some brand/models even if they mentioned a 98% compatibility with vehicles.

1-OK, friend, thanks for the reply, if you have the previous one and updated to January firmware, and it still not working in your Murano, then I have to tell you that this new version will also not working yet in your Murano, wish you can understand, thanks a lot!

When asked about when ...

2-Hi, we are not sure yet, we are working on to update the firmware to compatible with more and more car models, but currently, I haven't got any news about the Murano compatibility yet

Hi,
I just got CarPlay 2air. I can't get it to work with my 2019 Silverado. Says plug and play, but nothing shows up on my truck screen. I have a red light at the bottom of the adapter and that's it. I rebooted the phone like 5 times and even used another usb and still nothing. I also turned off the truck and back on. Any ideas, on how to get it to work? I'm lost!!
Thanks, Jerry
I don’t think it will work. Does not work at all in my 2020 Malibu or my wife’s 2019 Equinox with the the same MyLink system. I did the USB update. No difference.

Thanks ... Amazon prime is probably the best idea. Maybe I can just "rent" it to see if it's compatible. :) Geez, even the PRIME link from Amazon is a 3 week delivery.

That delay is due to the pandemic. Amazon is deprioritizing "non-essential" stuff like this to ensure they have the resources to fulfill the provisions people truly need.

Hello,
I have a 2019 Kia Sportage and the dongle works pretty much ok except for a slight delay when pressing buttons. Not sure if the Soul uses the same head unit.

I’m selling my CarPlay2Air if you are interested. It’s a week old, I’ll let you return it if it doesn’t work with your car.

Did anyone try Carlinkit v2.0 (CPC200-U2W-Plus)??

I am looking forward to v2.0 as the Carlinkit official AliExpress store's v2.0 car compatibility list has 2016-2019 Honda Accord.

My car is 2018 Honda Accord which is not supported by Carplay2air.

I know this thread is long, but you gotta read the last 4-5 pages for answers to both your questions. It all there.

Just thought I would give an update after about 10 days using the original old style CarPlay2Air. It's actually working very well using the 1.22 FW. My connecting issues after a brief stop and start have worked themselves out. I did find that my power delay settings really didn't matter as when I open the door, the power is cut no matter what the delay was set to. The delay basically keeps power to the car while sitting in it until you open the door. So all good there. Unfortunately, I have not been able to test the phone functionality, no one calls me!!!

My only issue, and minor, is a brief audio drop when playing songs every now and then. It's almost like a brief signal interference. It's a split second and is random.

Looking forward to the Carlinkit 2.0 to see if this is resolved. It appears to be on a plane to the US. China tracking leaves a lot to be desired.

Thanks. I am hoping the next tracking update will be that it touched down in the U.S. Optimistic for next week in hands. Fingers crossed.

I emailed Carlinkit and asked if the new v2 will work with 2019 Honda accord touring and they responded a day later with no. It will work with civic and clarity.

Are you plugging it in then starting up your car? If so that’s the issue. Leave it unplugged. Start your car. After the radio is a fully working and screen is up then plug it in.

Also try more than one USB port. Some may work better than others.

I done that also...thanks....I finally got it work, left the truck...went back later, left the unit plugged in, didn't connect. I tried it in my Corvette.....left the unit plugged in went back about a hour later....works every time . Unfortunately I bought it for my truck. I could be wrong, do you think it's a faulty unit, even though it works with my Corvette every-time? Just not my truck?
Thanks again

It’s just not compatible with your truck. That’s the way these dongles are, they work with some cars and some not. In certain cases, your car might be eligible for a software update that could resolve it. I can’t remember what truck you had? Silverado? Does your Vette run the same system?
