Thanks there is supposedly a 3.06 on page 73 and 78. Will when time compare them and or install them. Oddly as mentioned the one posted as 3.07 is really 3.04. With all the file names being the same unless you put them in labled folders easy enough to get confused. Perhaps someone really still has a 3.07.
**** Thanks for asking me to check the version via the 192.168.50.2 page. *** Wish I had done after the 1st pass.
I did test try to down from Carlinkit every date from 3.06 to 4.26 (all .404 errors). Did not try 3.04 or 3.05. Only 01.22 seems to be downloadable from their site. In my limited testing a few short trips 3.04 is best in my Palisade.

I asked about future firmware updates:

Hi, friend, sorry for the trouble, yes, of course we are going to update new firmware for our products. But the COVID-19 virus changed our original time schedule. Our tech has been working on to release new firmware as soon as possible, so please don't worry, our firmwares will be sure to keep updating in the future. Wish you can wait patiently, we will release new firmware as soon as possible.

Just got the Carlinkit delivered from AliExpress. Works great out of the box. Adds maybe an extra few seconds to connection time. Came with a Velcro sticker so it’s stick to the underside of the wireless charger cubby in my dashboard. Thanks so much you guys for all the advice. This is a definite must buy for anyone

Thank you.

Nice, looking forward to mine. I wish I could have ordered through AliExpress, but I don't think you can in the US? Maybe I am wrong. Went through Amazon via Carlinkit China. Shipped on 4/17 and I have no idea where it is in the process. Departed doesn't mean Departed for the US evidently because it keeps arriving in other parts of China!!

When did you order it and how long did it take to get in hands?

For those who may know, I bricked my Carlinkit old version a few weeks back trying to USB update it to 3.06. Not sure how I did this and I might be the only one. I am now using a temporary CarPlay2Air while I a await my new and improved Carlinkit 2.0. I am tempted to update it to 3.06 again just to see what the differences are. I trouble shot my last procedure and for the life of me I can't figure out how it got bricked. I did start with a 256GB stick. But then went to a 32GB thumb drive. No luck, just flashed from red to blue over and over and would not boot up in the car after trying.

So I thought I would try to procure a 4GB or 8GB thumb but they just don't sell them in lots less than 5 or 10 and I just don't need that many. Just thought I would share again...moral of my story, leave well enough alone, but I like to tinker.

How do you connect your phone to the adapter, to check the firmware version (i.e. bluetooth, wifi, cable)?

Once your in your running car with the adapter screen showing your wireless CarPlay. Open safari internet app on your iPhone and type in 192.168.50.2 at address bar then hit enter.

How embarrassing... yeah you guys are right, the file I uploaded as 2020-03-07 is in fact the 2020-03-04 file. I have no idea what happened to the 2020-03-07 file. I know that there was a U2W_Update.img file posted in the 2020-03-07 directory on their site (it is also referenced on this German forum: https://www.motor-talk.de/forum/hat-jemand-carplay2air-eingebaut-t6759876.html?page=27), but I don't know if I've just misplaced the file, or if in fact Carlinkit itself put the 2020-03-04 file in the 2020-03-07 directory.

Does anyone else reading this thread have the 2020-03-07 file downloaded directly from carlinkit's site? I have to think someone does--it was available for at least a few weeks before they removed all the files from their site.

Sorry for posting the wrong file, everyone. I will edit that post to reflect that it's the 2020-03-04 file.

Hi,
It looks like this won't work with my 2019 Silverado...got it connected a few times and after getting some other directions....the last 2 days it won't connect all. I've tried everything support said anti just doesn't work. Someone suggested here to use the cigarette lighter, but that's, not sure I know how to do that. I really want this to work....any other suggestions, I really need some help? CARPLAY2air
Thanks, Jerry

Also has anybody ever talked with CARPLAY2air support and if so do you have a number?
Thanks

Thanks Bookemdano:) You had I think 2018 Danali paranoid:). Thanks JCK1634 for USB-C Pics...

** Hey all just to clear confusion please do not just call the new USB-C version of the Carlinkit version 2. Believe it or not the prior version was also version 2. Ill post the screen shot of info. There both “version 2”, supposedly. The main call out is the USB-C and new shape. They both claim to be improved 5gz etc of over version 1 or original.

The latest from Carlinkit on firmawre:

Hello there, Your product is currently the latest system. In the next 2-3 weeks or so, we will release the latest upgraded version, and then you can check the URL 192.168.50.2 to check the new version. Thank you.

I have joined the club. I ordered a Carplay2Air from their website. It took around 2 weeks for it to come, even though I paid for the 2to3 day shipping option. They blamed that on the pandemic but didn't refund my $10.

I have a2018 Cadillac XT5. The adapter works fine in my car, with the exception of what I call the GM bug. Where the power to the usb port is turned on before the head unit starts. For now I am leaving the adapter unplugged and plugging it in after the Radio screen comes up. I have ordered the USB switch from Amazon so that I don't have to plug and unplug the adapter.

My Carplay2Air came with a March FW pre installed.

I've enjoyed reading about everyone else's experiences here and will keep following along.

Nice! I have a similar issue with the USB power port on my Maserati. It’s intermittent and mostly has issues with quick stops. I haven’t pin pointed it yet on whether leaving the phone in the car helps, taking the FOB with me helps, locking it helps. But anyway, can you share a link to that Amazon switch? I know it’s buried here on this mega thread somewhere.

Also, I think you are a first in that your adapter came loaded with the March software. I got the CP2Air a few weeks ago and it updated over the air to 1.22. Did you tell them what kind of car you had? I wonder if they manually flashed it for your car whereas leave 1.22 for others?

They had files on the site listed on post 1208 through the end of March but the only one that worked to manually add was the 3.06.20. I had the files as well but none would load. Actually it looked like they would update everyday

So if anyone has a Range Rover Velar late 2017 I can confirm it doesnt work in it. Tried it today and the head unit refuses to see it.

So I’ve used the carlinkit 2.0 for the last day and here’s what I think. I’m using it in a Seat Tarraco which is part of the VW group. It’s essentially a VW Tiguan Allspace or Skoda Kodiaq. The carplay system is called Full Link. I’ve had the car six months and it’s not without it’s own bugs. Now and again Full Link just doesn’t want to start so you have to restart it by holding a button down. Full link does let you see who’s calling in the instrument cluster but won’t show you song name and artist. It just says CarPlay. From cold start on to CarPlay starting (so long as it does start) takes about 20-30 seconds. It’s a lot quicker from a warm start.

So the device connected easily Via Bluetooth on the first go. Turning the ignition off, leaving the car and returning after a short while doesn’t cause any issues. It reconnects instantly. Only time it takes longer is the first time it’s switched on after being for a few hours. The only bugs I’ve seen are sometimes when it’s connecting I get a message on the system saying connection failed because the device is not unlocked. If I wait a few seconds it tries to reconnect and works again. The blue highlight is still there now and again but I find if you swipe across to a another page and come back it goes away but it’s very rare and not that big of a deal. There’s no lag when making or receiving phone calls. Hey Siri works just as well. The information in the instrument cluster is working fine. The only lag I’ve noticed is when you want to skip a track. Also, before i could use the buttons on my steering wheel to forward A track by holding down the skip track button but that doesn’t work. It does still work on the actual CarPlay screen.

i paid just under £100 for this with free shipping and less than two weeks waiting time. It’s unobtrusive. Quicker than I expected and relatively bug free and works well. Definitely happy with this
