Thanks! The power thing is more about how GM chose to power up our USB ports than a Carplay2Air issue. The switch will be a good workaround for me.Nice! I have a similar issue with the USB power port on my Maserati. It’s intermittent and mostly has issues with quick stops. I haven’t pin pointed it yet on whether leaving the phone in the car helps, taking the FOB with me helps, locking it helps. But anyway, can you share a link to that Amazon switch? I know it’s buried here on this mega thread somewhere.
Also, I think you are a first in that your adapter came loaded with the March software. I got the CP2Air a few weeks ago and it updated over the air to 1.22. Did you tell them what kind of car you had? I wonder if they manually flashed it for your car whereas leave 1.22 for others?
Hey folks. Are the music skipping issues happening on both carplay2air and carlinkit units? I have the carplay2air unit and audio skips and jitters every now and then. i'm on the latest firmware from carplay2air - not sure if there is anything newer. and on that note, are the carlinkit and carplay2air firmwares interchangeable?
Awesome, thank you!For the language selection there's a small globe in the bottom right corner, just select the icon. It cycles thru the languages. You'll eventually get back to English.
The 5 min music issue is that after you play music for 5 minutes the music becomes distorted and is not really useable. Others in the thread have reported it and someone noted that they were able to fix it by using a older firmware version. I'm hoping that a newer firmware will also fix it. I keep my lightning cable in the car, so for now if I want to play music, I'll just connect the phone to the car with it the "old fashioned" way.Thank you. Wow, I’m pretty sure again that 3.18 is a first as well.
What is the 5 minute music issue? Sorry if covered recently but I am not familiar. I do get some random split second drops in music. Almost like interference. I am hoping this gets resolved with the next release.
After bricking my last one trying to manually flash it, which was Amazon Prime, after waiting this long and waiting for the new one to come from China, I will leave well enough alone. A return would take forever.
Got it, thanks. Fortunately, I don't have this issue. Hi, is there a reset button for CARPLAY2air? I got mine manually connected once yesterday and after that included today, it won't connect at all. Support has been getting back to me, it like 12:30 am where I am. I email a day and I've spent way too many hours to get this to work on my 2019 Silverado.
Yes too all, it would connect once in every 10-12 tries. The last two day, all I get is a red light and it won't connect at all. I can't tell you how many hours I've spent trying to get this to work.I appreciate everyone's help here. I don't know what else to do to get this to connect. No but simply unplugging it and leaving it unplugged for a bit resets it.
Did you remove your phone from your cars Bluetooth?
And are you starting the car and letting the screen be fully up before plugging it in? And have you tried more than one USB port?
What firmware are you running? There are a ton of Silverado/Denali/Chevy/GM problematic posts here. My guess is that it's just not meant to be with a lot of GM cars despite the support claims. I agree with you, when it just gets to be too much work, it ain't worth it. It will never be as good as wired CarPlay, but for some, like me, it works well enough that I don't feel the need to revert back to wired.Yes too all, it would connect once in every 10-12 tries. Has anybody got there's CARPLAY2air to connect to a 2019 Silverado? If so, does it cneect when you get back in the truck?
Thanks, Jerry
I have the latest firmware on all...truck, iPhone and carplay2air. Now trying to deal with them for a return...I just emailed them and asked, I'll let you all know. What firmware are you running? Did you pay through PayPal? They don't like giving money back and will stretch out the process with emails with 12 hours delays. Dispute it.I have the latest firmware on all...truck, iPhone and carplay2air. Now trying to deal with them for a return...I just emailed them and asked, I'll let you all know.

No, I paid my credit card.Did you pay through PayPal? They don't like giving money back and will stretch out the process with emails with 12 hours delays. Dispute it.
Just venting here....when we buy we pay in full and then wait a month for delivery from China. We trust the merchant to ship and we pay in full. In return, as soon as there is a tracking, they should process the refund. They are going to try to hit you with a restocking fee and make you pay for return shipping. Both valid grounds for a PP dispute. PayPal refunded me the money as soon as I filed a dispute. Pretty sure there is negative history here with CP2A.
Agree with the comment of lots of issues with Chevy/GM vehicles. I’m intrigued with the fact you said you got it connected at least once manually. How exactly? I’ve seen nothing but the red LED and nothing else when plugging it in my 2020 Malibu and 2019 Equinox.I have the latest firmware on all...truck, iPhone and carplay2air. Last week I posted in this thread about having issues with nothing at all happening on a 2016 Silverado, but having it work in 2015 Tahoe (with 2017 infotainment hardware).
The Tahoe always had issues with steering wheel controls totally not working with my wife's iPhone XS, but working with my iPhone 11.
I spent an hour in the Tahoe with her phone, and found "Settings -> Return to Factory Settings -> Clear All Private Data". Suddenly the steering wheel controls started working again with her phone.
So then I figured let me go try this in the Silverado and try the Carplay2air adapter again. Boom, it worked instantaneously!
FWIW, here are the settings screens:
