Okay I am tired of calling Apple and getting nowhere. So assuming my phone is shipped via UPS I'm just gonna have them hold the phone for me at the shipping center nearest to me. I'll pick it up Friday. It won't matter that my moms name is on the package because our last name and address match on my ID. Idk if the same will work for FedEx. Does anyone know if FedEx has a similar procedure?
 
ATT doesn't even acknowledge my physical address....only lets us put a PO box in for our billing address. Even though I have my physical address on Apple and have multiple items shipped to me from them with no issue, it took me 1/2 hour to realize that the reason I was getting error messages from Apple to place my order was because of ATT not accepting our physical address. Went in to my ATT account and changed by billing address to my work address. Apple then had no issue in shipping my phone to work! Seriously....there is a flaw in this system! In the mean time...shipping time slipped and now i'm in the Sept. 27-29 delivery boat! Thanks ATT! Grrr.
 
chat said they can't do it cause it's att. But Apple phone was able to do it really quick. Awesome.
 
Anyone actually ever had success having UPS hold their phone at a hub or a store for pickup?

So, about the AT&T billing address and the Apple shipping address matching...
I'm on hold right now, and I'm going to request this shipping address changed. What are realistically the chances of them cancelling the order if they don't match? Also, having UPS hold it isn't an option for me, since the address I would like it shipped to is nowhere near the actual shipping address at the moment.
 
For an AT&T unlocked phone bought from Apple.com, I waited on hold with 800 MY APPLE for 2.5 hours and they said there is no way they or their supervisor can change the shipping address.

Apparently when the order gets the shipping address it comes from AT&T's billing address, so you have to change it with AT&T. She promised me it would work... but I'm not very confident it will work.

How did everyone get their shipping address changed?

I usually have my phone shipped to my job and I have my AT&T account as my jobs address just for that reason. Apparently something happened because this year my AT&T defaulted to my home address. Called apple this morning and was on hold for 1:45 and it was changed immediately. No issues she was happy to change it. Now my phone is preparing for shipping. I guess it depends on who you talk to. Keep trying and good luck.

Thanks! But I'm not so concerned about Apple being able to change it. I'm more concerned about what will happen after they do (if I can even get that far). When it prepares for shipment, will the order automatically get cancelled because the addresses on Apple/AT&T do not match? (Someone earlier in the thread said something along these lines.) I would like the iPhone to ship to RI, but the AT&T address is located in FL.

Well that's good news. However, I chose the AT&T Next option that lets me upgrade every 12 months. Like I said, I think I'll get through to someone who can change the shipping address on Apple's end, I'm just worried that AT&T won't like that when it tries to ship, especially since it's an installment plan.
 
Just went through another round of chat and they again told me that they couldn't help me. Now 1hr and 10min into my second time on hold :(

I went on att site and changed my address there just in case.
 
They are telling me if its Processing for Shipping and its the Apple Upgrade Program they cannot change shipping but on hold to try to see if someone else can help me. Anyone who has their phone in processing and doing the Apple Upgrade program that has had any luck changing address?

I'll definitely ask and post what I hear back. However, I would take everything they say with a grain of salt.

I ordered a 7 plus using the apple app via Apple Pay, I chose pick up in store, but billing address is incorrect, should i call them change it or they charge me at the store?

I also had a small billing address issue. You can do that just over online chat! Not nearly as much as a hassle.
