This hold is really unacceptable, I know it's a big day for them but they do this every year and should have it streamlined a little better by now.

I just got through!! Specialist told me she can't change my address so I asked to speak with supervisor because I'm telling her I know people who have gotten it changed. (You lovely people)
[doublepost=1473442936][/doublepost]hELP!! SUPERVISOR said NO ONE on the IUP has the ability to have this changed. Who here got it done???

I spammed the Chat Now button and finally got in. I typed in that I wanted to change my address and now it says please wait for the next specialist. I'm also into 30 minutes of hold on the phone. Fingers crossed this isn't 2 hours.

what do you mean by spam?

Here is what I got from chat
I’m sorry to have to tell you this because I know that you have been waiting a while to chat. I’m going to have to ask that you contact my colleagues in customer service to change the shipping address. I apologized, in chat we don’t have the ability to do that.

It took me 20 tries to get it to finally put me in chat queue. Most of the time it just says they are experiencing high volume and can't chat right now.

I've heard when they validate orders if there's a discrepancy between shipping address on Apple and billing address, they cancel the order. This happened last year

This is what I was told today. Posted about in this thread.

I feel like changing billing address on ATT would screw up the credit card. My billing address on ATT has been the same for 3 years. I feel like changing it now would cause a multitude of problems, the least of which would be the phone cancelling.

Here are my details to put some context to things.
ATT Address was my old address since I moved
Apple had both shipping and billing address updated to new adddress
When i placed my order my billing address was correct but my shipping address was set to my old address that was still outdated on ATT account.

I updated my address on my ATT account to match my billing and shipping address on the apple order. (I am having it shipped to my house so billing/shipping are the same).

I paid full price for the phone so not on any program, they were able to update the shipping address on the phone for me but said to make sure that my address on my ATT account matched my shipping address on my apple order. Not sure if that helps or makes things more confusing

Not saying you do. That is what I was told. Since my shipping address was pulled from my att account. Apple rep said that when the order changes status it will validate the address info and if there is an issue it will cancel the order.
I just chatted with ATT and they verified that I did not need to change the billing address, it would ship to the address that Apple has.

This is incorrect. ATT doesn't know, they aren't fulfilling the order. Apple is.

Yea but Apple said they don't verify with ATT and will go by Apple shipping address. So once again, everyone is getting different answers depending on who you talk to.

I can only tell you that both ATT and Apple said I did not need to change the billing address on the ATT account. ATT had me on pause while she verified it with a supervisor.

I dont doubt you. But this whole thread is a testament to the fallacy of this argument. I had an incorrect shipping address on my Apple Store order last night. At 4am today I called Apple and contrary to the many people who posted on here saying it wasnt possible to do this, and that specialists refused to do it. The specialist i talked to, did it immediately and my order page and confirmation e-mail proves they changed the shipping address. And Apple is fulfilling the orders. And evidently many specialists are refusing or dont know they can change this.

So its a mess basically.

Last night I spent hours trying to work out what the hell Apple meant/ATT meant on the Checkout page about "replace this iPhone or buy new phone on existing line". I personally chatted with 4 Apple specialists via chat. Got 4 different answers about what it meant and which one I needed to choose to fit my desired order. Some people insisted the first option. Some the second. And many people on here did the same.

Update us if you order gets shipped successfully or gets cancelled. It will be good for us to know for this year.

I believe the "replace" option transfers your phone number and you stay with the same plan. The other is new phone on existing ACCOUNT, which would add another number and user and your existing phone would still be active after activating the new phone with whatever number they gave you.

I wouldn't bother with chat:
