Christian Bale Top Choice to Play Steve Jobs in Biopic Written by Aaron Sorkin

I don't wish to be crass but he is also a good choice as he can drop the weight needed to resemble someone who has terminal cancer.
Not many actors are physically or mentally capable of that.

Christian Bale is a phenomenal method actor. He will literally become Steve Jobs. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if he actually winds up creating a new Apple product.

Really

How many failed movies about Steve Job's does Hollywood need? Jobs was great, but movies about him, not so much.

If they complete the new circular campus for Apple before they film the movie this movie can literally be nothing more then Christian Bale walking and talking around the entire perimeter of the campus in 90 minutes, which is classic Sorkin shtick.

Perfect. Every time there is an article about this film I post Bale as the my choice to play Jobs. We know he will do whatever is necessary to disappear into the role

A Steve Jobs film starring Ashton Kutcher was bound to fail. Sorkin writing a film about Jobs and Fincher directing is a different beast. Bale is leagues above Kutcher.

for goodness sake! HELL NO! I like bale...but not like this....
I don't see steve job to be like batman at night.

Totally. When you look at the credentials of Fincher and Sorkin: Fight Club, Se7en, Zodiac, The Social Network, Moneyball - heck the fact they collaborated on a masterful film that took place in the technical industry - I have really high hopes this will do the subject matter justice.

Now if they can just get Jack Black to play Steve ... it’ll be _perfection_.

:D

Are people seriously talking about that pos first movie ? i have never seen it and i never will. This on the other hand would be a film im exited to see.

Didn't the last Jobs movie bomb? Why make another?

Kinda surprised to see a moderator making that comment. It's been common knowledge for the past couple years that there would be an SJ biopic. The Kutcher fiasco was a result of poor...everything. This one will be done right.

Yes really. I've seen the movie and nothing like Jobs. Just so unbelievable. Noah Wyle also looked nothing like Jobs but he did a much better version of acting as Jobs. in the way of Wyle gets a B- for his Jobs and Kutcher gets a D (at the very most) for his Jobs.

well we were talking about how much kutcher _looked_ like jobs...not how good his acting is.

They'd better cast an actor with facial hair, or it will be so wrong.

Director David Fincher, who is in talks to direct the Aaron Sorkin-scripted Steve Jobs biopic based on Water Isaacson's biography, is hoping to cast Christian Bale in the leading role as Steve Jobs, reports TheWrap.

Though Fincher has not yet officially signed on to direct the film, he has allegedly said that he will take on the project if Christian Bale plays Steve Jobs. Bale has not been approached about the possible role, but he has reportedly been a front runner for the position due to his undeniable resemblance to Jobs.

David Fincher, who may direct the yet unnamed biopic, was the director behind The Social Network, another Silicon Valley-based film that won three Academy Awards and was nominated for five more, including Best Picture and Best Director.

Sorkin completed the script for the upcoming Jobs movie back in January, and the film is said to take place across three continuous 30-minute scenes at three different Jobs-led product launches.

The movie, which is still in the casting stages, has no set launch date at the current time.

Sorkin and Fincher I am 100% behind! Actors don't really matter..they are just meat puppets.

Jesus.
Batman.
Steve Jobs?

Is he aiming to play everyones favourite hero before he retires?

Don't forget John Connor.

Do you like Huey Lewis and The News?

Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

...yeah, I think Christian Bale is perfect for the role.

How many failed Jobs movies have there been exactly?

Bale is a solid actor. That for sure will bring more credibility to the film. Also the same can be said of Sorkin.
Kutcher on the other hand.........

Brace yourselves!!! Here comes the ton of comments mentioning Batman.

Ugh... you just shamed me into not commenting about Jobs gargling gravel.:p

I can't think of anyone more qualified. He has portrayed a billionaire, Bruce Wayne. And he has portrayed the man who save humanity from evil computers, John Connor. Who else is more qualified to play a billionaire who saves humanity from evil computers?
