My intensity bar is 1/3 on the right. I foibe the right balance to me with a kickin blue tint and the TT on.

Look at the colour of the box. It looks yellow, right? So, the camera for that pic has set its white balance based on the phone screen, so of course it looks pure white. In reality the screen would probably appear quite cool. That said, it’s pretty even in brightness and tint so I’d say it’s a good one: you just can’t tell what the overall colour balance is like or what it will look like off angle.

Is it normal for oled.to change color?
I mean because mine is sometimes more blue tint.... Then becomes yellow?
    Sometimes normal white...
My TT is off no calibration no night shift

I'm happy to read alot of people are enjoying their new phones or finding ways to adjust them to suit. In some cases just settling.

But with that said it would seem that some comments are suggesting that any issues people feel they have is not infact an issue with the display and is just how oled is. I don't believe this and have seen better displays. This is down to manufacturing tolerances and calibration.

Similarly the suggestions that by setting a colour filter fixes whites in most cases is a suitable solution. This is not true for me any probably not others. A filter literally adds a colour over the whole display and dims the overall brightness and effects other colours. This is not a good fix.

I'm off to Apple store tomorrow to view floor models and swap mine out if I see the holy grail device.

I’m pretty sure Apple will send out a software calibration.

I think some posted earlier, but was the True Tone calibration from the lcd iPhones just carried over to the x?

If that’s the case, that some serious oversight on apples part.

Thanks for the hue adj setting.
Just changed to : TT OFF
Color filter on. Intensity FAR left. HUE 2/3 from far left.

Any damage adjusting/messing around with the color filter?

Grabbed my wife’s phone to adjust the hue and intensity for her.
Compared it with mine, hers is currently TT off and hue and off. Her phone looks much better than mine. -_-

tt off, filiers on: X is much much better than 2 7 plus with same filters. Without filters, 7 plus wins hands down

Off topic but just curious, what is that thumbprint icon floating on the screen of the phone on the right? I saw this a lot in Asia when I was traveling but had no idea what it's used for.

Well, OLED blows away plasma in basically every other respect - starting with.. you know.. 4K and HDR.

You can stick with the plasma instead, but even with the few issues OLED has, I would never, ever, ever, go back. Plasma doesn't touch OLED.

So maybe it really is glue? I never really believed that it was glue that needed to dry.

Please tell me how you let it settle. My phone is still showing this blueish yellow tint at all times .

Or you got used to display?

The yearly "it's just the glue drying" theory is bull.

Mine happens to be "Cooler" than my 8 plus. My 8 Plus actually has a pink hue to it weirdly enough compared to my X. Maybe I got very lucky... but now I'm having issues with my X. So hopefully I don't have to return it like I did my 8 Plus.

Its a couple of possible scenarios: either I got used to the truetone, or the screen really does look better.

Tip: tilt the phone from the bottom, you should see the blue tint.

I returned my iPhone X on Monday. A 256 GB Silver. I was at the Apple store today and looked at some displays. To me, and it’s subjective. But several of the displays looked better than the one I returned.

Question: Would it make sense to wait a couple of months or so and order one? My rationale, less demand and more effort into quality control.
