These were leaked awhile ago, and it turns out recent part leaks match the schematic.

A taller iPhone... I dont think so... It'll be a big disappointment.

Another thing.. If its true the new iphone's screen will only be taller. I'll rather stay with the 4S

So someone tell me, exactly why is this phone getting longer? The 4S has so much wasted space on the front that Apple should be able to get a 4 inch screen without even stretching the physical length at all.

THIS!!! x infinity

There is no reason for the iphone to get physically longer if all they are doing is making the screen longer. Apple seriously need to fill up all that wasted space on the face of the existing phone. Considering this display/design is now stone age, they should be able to improve on that display/front surface area ratio. Two years of mobile display technology have passed, and that's a lifetime in the mobile world.

You are dismissing the depth of components that occupy that space. The camera is a 2.1 mm cube.

It's Apple milking the basic slab sided, rectangular, form factor.

Lacking any real shape, ie: no compound curves on the back & sides for comfort. The brilliance of this design is how cheap it is for Apple to build. Never one to miss an opportunity to pump up profits, the longer they keep recycling this "style" the greater their ROI.

Regardless, the iPhone 3G/3GS felt far cheaper with plastic case and poor fit and finish.

If the 5 looks like that then it's one hot looking device. However, the change in the form factor and especially in the plug will drive me NUTS. None of my current accessories (car mount, alarm clock, cases) will work, and companies tend to lag 3-6 months behind product releases until new viable accessories are released :-(

During the 3-6 months, perhaps you can use a possible adapter released by Apple? Like the Magsafe 2/Magsafe 1 adapter

I sure hope Apple has something up it's sleeve with the iPhone 5 that we don't know about. I haven't heard a single rumor that has gotten me excited about it.

Slightly taller display? Uh, ok.

NFC? Helpful years down the road when retailers adapt to it. It'll be near useless upon launch.

Thinner? I don't see the benefit given how crazy thin the 4S already is.

The iPhone 4S was an incremental upgrade and it looks like the iPhone 5 may be as well =\

I don't think that black 2 tone looks bad at all. Of course I don't really care how a phone looks externally, a phone would literally have to look like a penis for me to refuse using it based on looks.

I wish that were true, but certain accessories I have such as my proclip car mount (cost me $100) will be useless as I use the headphone jack while it is plugged in, and with the headphone jack relocated to the bottom of the device, won't be able to plug the damn thing in!

ya i dont see what purpose moving the headphone jack to the bottom of the phone serves

agreed. What a weird idea...anywhere would be better than the bottom. That would mean your phone would have to be upside down in your car, in your pocket...doesn't make sense

ya thats true. thats so weird. i really dont understand the purpose. like you said, why would you want your phone to be upside down? i hope that that doesnt come out to be like that by launch.

How else do you put your iPhone in your pocket? It makes most sense to put it upside-down (screen facing your leg). That way, when you take it out, it's already facing you right-side-up.

i put mine in my pocket face outwords and right side up. If i need to take a quick peek into my pocket i can see the face

Gotcha. I used to do that but that leaves your screen exposed (hitting the side of table/chair). For me, it's more practical to do as I mentioned before, as it protects my screen and it requires no rotation when taking my iPhone out to use it.

that makes sense from a protection stand point, but it's kind of like wearing a watch....i know it is their so i avoid smacking it on **** haha.

The form factor is ok. Just as long as it has a quad core processor, it's all cool. :p

My phone always goes into the pocket upside down with screen facing toward my body.

Having used iPhones since the 3GS back in 2009, and now using the 4S, I might actually be jumping ship if the iPhone 5 does not turn out to be more revolutionary than these renders suggest. The Galaxy S3 looks tempting to be honest.
