The 4S is sexy. People need to realize that redesigns need to be warranted, not just because "I'm bored with the way my iPhone looks". Look at the iPod classic/MacBook Pro/iMac. At some point, there are few ways to redesign it when its already so minimalistic.
i agree the design is very nice on the current iphones....They could keep it the exact same, but make it wider too. A longer only iphone will feel really funny in your hand....like a candy bar.
My guess is the leaks we are seeing will be the next iPhone. The same scenario happened last year. Everyone dismissed the leaked parts because it looked just like the iPhone 4, and held out hope that Apple would surprise us with some radical new design. But they didn't. And they won't this year. Unfortunately, this ugly thing will probably be the new iPhone. I'm not a fan of just taller not wider, nor the two tone back. Also, they need to add some curve to the iPhone.
I would be dead sold on the new iPhone if it was definitely going to be wider too. But, unfortunately, it doesn't look like it.
If the current iPhone doesnt feel like a candy bar, why would it suddenly by just being .5" longer?

Secondly, having looked through all the renders in the thread, all I see is the same phone over and over again.
I'm sure it's just me, but every pic in this thread looks like exactly the same device.

Last year was when a larger screen was expected. Hell, even the year before when the 4 came out (which is why I didn't upgrade from my 3GS). Now, a year (or 2) later, people naturally have a larger wish list.
I honestly think we can look to the iPad 2/3 design for the future iPhone design. Apple likes to take design cues from each of their products. I wouldn't be surprised if it's similarly tapered like the iPad with the same materials.

I definitely hope the aluminum shell is gun metal. The black and gun metal look very slick.
I think they all look like poop, it needs to be widened out a bit to be a real winner not everyone has little child hands.
lol look at the render and the the picture of the white iphone in the render. The black on looks like the current 4S with a different dock, the white one looks like the elongated version.
I actually really like this. Those screens look wider than what we have now too.
Make the sides of the phones the same color as body, not silver.
I agree, well not sexy nut it looks better. I started with the White 3G, then White 3GS, then Black 4, then White 4S, but I am going back to the Black one only because it looks so much better, especially that you do not see the Prox sensor showing thru.
When Im typing in landscape mode, I NEED more up and down space (ie WIDER phone) more than anything! The keyboard takes up a lot of space and I cant see enough of what Im typing (or have typed). Really my only gripe about the current iPhone. That and I just want something new and different.
Why can we not just have an aluminum unibody case? Make it thicker, if need be, but the antenna crown-belt-thing needs to go.
