I've been on to Apple today who say the problem is PayPal.... I've also been on to PayPal today, you would never guess who they said the problem is with..... and around and around we go :( :) :( :)
Sounds similar to my case, except that I paid with my Visa. Bank said Apple has to make 2 transactions, Apple said they can only make one transaction and bank will have to approve it, etc etc.. I ended up buying Apple store gift-card and afterwards I found out that I have to wait 2 days because Apple support over the phone isn't available on the weekends! Anyways they have pending transaction on my card and it's not moving, was supposed to be delivered on 19th but that's unlikely to happen now..

Ordered on 11/17

15 inch/2.7/512GB/460/

Delivers Dec.21 - 28 with Standard Shipping.

My CC got charged yesterday... but still says processing items... really hoping I get it before Christmas.

Really?! Mine doesn't... how does it start?

UPS tracking should start 1Z *** *** 68 **** ****

1Z is the printed waybill reference, the next 6 numbers are the account number for UPS to bill, the next two are the most important, these indicate the service level for the package (68 = Standard, 04 = Saver, 66 = Express etc etc) and the final 8 are randomly generated.

BUT... if the package is shipping on a hand written way I'll it could start with a W or H and only be around 12 digits long.

Hope that helps

Have you see a charge for it yet? I got the shipment notification a few days after the charge appeared on my credit card.
Mine's in shipment right now, but my tracking number doesn't work, it's 10 numbers starting by 9655.
What about you?

12 numbers. Mine is coming via FedEx, and tracking is active. It's a good thing I looked just now, because the delivery date has been moved up to the 19th instead of the 20th. I need to make sure someone is home to sign for it, so I'll have to be sure to work from home on that day.

Lucy you... I'm just estimating where my mac could be...

I don't understand how some get CC charged, then PFS next day, while others wait 4 or 5 days (or longer) to go from CC charged to PFS. I thought Apple says they only charge the card once it ships? Four or five days without movement doesn't sound like "charging when they ship."

When i first ordered my MBP 15" 2,7Ghz / 460 / 256GB SSD my delivery date went to 20th - 28th December. Last Saturday, my CC was charged and today in the morning here in Germany, it changes to Prepare for Shipment... :) Muhahaha.. Cant wait to hold my new baby in my hands *___*.

Does your tracking id work?

i didn't even got a tracking number until now.. Status is : Preparig for Shipment, not "shipped". If i look into Forums from Germany, a lot of users told me, that 1-2 days after it went P4S, it was really shipped and they got the tracking number. So i guess i will get a tracking Id until Saturday and receive my Macbook Pro maybe around Tuesday, Wednesday the following week.

A lot of people are reporting that the auth has hit their card, not necessarily that the charge has posted to their account. In fact, I see some reports that say "CC charged (pending)" which makes me think that it's just an auth. There seems to be quite a delay from pending to PFS.

I'm at my wits end with this now :(

Apple are still saying the problem is with PayPal not authorising the funds to be taken.... then when I speak with PayPal they state the funds are available and Apple haven't made a request for them....

Worst part is, if this isn't resolved by tomorrow my order will be cancelled for non-payment and I'd have to order again (which lets be honest, would be a right piss take...) meaning I would lose my place in-line and go to the back of the queue with an expected delivery date of who knows when (most likely Feb 2017).

Anyone got any ideas?

An auth is the same as a cleared charge in that the money is gone - unavailable. If they are still days away from actually shipping it, why are they even talking to your bank yet? I know these are rhetorical questions, as no one here probably knows Apple's true procedures, but whatever their process is, it's not customer friendly.

Why would they go about production of your laptop if you do not have the funds to complete the purchase? An authorization charge is basically a way to check that the financial information you provided works and that you've got the money for it.
