Is this the case for all ATT stores? I hope not.
According to my AT&T store and many others in other states, AT&T stores will not be getting new shipments for walk-ins until all DF orders are fulfilled (within 3-4 weeks).

Yeah 2 weeks I was like are you kidding me. I keep checking to order status website and mine says backordered. I talked to an att phone rep today and he said that those that ordered friday were having theirs SHIPPED monday doesnt mean that they get them monday. Those that ordered Saturday were having theirs shipped tuesday and those that shipped after those 2 days were going to have to wait at least a week.
I ordered mine Friday at around 10:00 or earlier at the only ATT store in my area. Still/again listed on backorder. :/
I can't keep up with everything everyone has heard. Its drivin me nuts
Who has actually gotten their phone from Direct Fulfillment or who knows that they are getting theirs on a certain day. I'm just curious when people ordered and where they are located.
Screw it, I'm going to the Apple store in the morning and cancelling my DF order. I paid 20 bucks for 3 day shipping and it's indefinitely backordered, after they told me "it's available, it'll ship directly from the factory."
That really sucks, I had no clue you could actually pay more for faster shipping. I got standard overnight for free... what does it depend on?
i checked my status since my last post, about 30 minutes, mine has shipped. I almost felt as if i won the lottery. i won't get excited until I have it in hand. There is hope.![]()
For those of you who were mislead, as i was, that the Direct Fullfillment orders are filled prior to your average walkin, those were misleading statements from the ATT reps. A close friend of mine works for ATT and she explained to me that, the DF orders come COMPLETELY seperate of any other shipments received for iPhone. Let's say this, you ordered your phone Friday and the store received a shipment on Saturday, you will NOT get first dibbs on those phone. Whatever lucky customers that are in line or walk up get those. And as far as cancelation. You can. Let's say that you walk by an ATT store and you walk in are told they have a phone in stock and it happens to be the one you want and have previously DF ordered. You can purchase that one and you would have to return to the original store and cancel the order once it has been shipped.. Which means that you pay for that phone and the shipped phone, however, the shipped will be refunded once you cancel. So in saying all that. You pay double for the phone and will get refunded the half at some point.
And as far back tracking the order before yours in an effort to see when you'll get your phone. That doesn't seem to be reliable. I'm about the 14th to do the DF at my store, Houston, Tx FM 1960 Rd. And it look appears as though 1 person ahead of me has been shipped their phone and that person wasn't the first, according to the order number sequence.
Who know's when we'll receive the phone. The 5-7 days seems to be standard across the board. I don't for see Apple and/or ATT shipping EVERYONES the same. I've become all but obsessed about this. checking the status every few hours.
That's fine - but it doesn't mean that ATT won't fill boxes for DF at the warehouse before sending out boxes for the stores' walk ins.
I also don't expect that everyone who ordered at, say, 11am on Friday, will get their phones at the same time. Depends on your proximity to a shipping center, where Apple is sending the phones, etc.
For example - it took 2 days for my MacBook to get to Cincinnati from Alaska. If I'd been in Alaska, I'd have gotten it at least a day sooner. And, when I order from Banana Republic, I always get my order in 24-48 hours. Why? Because their shipping center is in Columbus.
Logistics are complicated, but bad logistics does not an evil company make. Wal-Mart has fantastic logistics....
