just wondering how long it has taken people to get their confirmation email after making a DF order? i ordered yesterday at 2PM and have not gotten an email yet, nor can i log onto the att order tracking page and see my order, but my order does show up on the queue tool that other poster made.

I'm pretty sure I didn't get my confirmation email until Monday. And even though my order status says shipped and gives me a tracking number, I still don't have a shipping notification. Don't know if this gives you any kind of relief. : /

I received mine at 9:48 pm Sunday evening, I placed the order around 2:00 pm.

On a side note, I checked the status of my store this morning and they show only one phone having been shipped.
I am number 13 & 14 on the list now. It seems other stores are receiving theirs ahead of mine. Their are still 10 people from the 11th and 12th who haven't received their phones.

There are 38 people (me included) out of 71 that ordered on Friday alone, who havent received theirs yet from my store...we must be way down on the pecking order. I ordered a 16GB Black on 7/11 at 11:45am EST.

I ordered mine at 1 pm on Friday and didn't get an email until 8:30 pm Sunday.

I ordered mine at 10:30AM last Saturday, and I still haven't received a confirmation email.

I got my notification late last night - my black iphone 16 GB shipped, and according to FedEx I can pick it up at the store at any point.

I ordered around 5 PM on Friday.

Statically looks like bad news

I have been keeping stats from the store I ordered from on Friday and it looks like things are getting worse:

Total Phones Ordered on 7/11 - 19

Shipped on 7/14 - 5
Shipped on 7/15 - 4
Shipped on 7/16 - 1

16GB Black shipped

I ordered my phone from the San Mateo ATT store on Friday, July 11, at 10:30 am. Like others, I got [backorder-notbackordered]* for a while and went to bed Wednesday night with that status. I woke up this morning to an email saying the phone had shipped and that it is already in the bay area. All told it will probably have taken 8 days because they say it will be delivered Friday afternoon. Hope this helps focus energies. ATT was never any help through this process. Friendly but useless.

I would ask where someone ordered from, but I think that the DF system is so random there is absolutely now way to guess if yours will ship soon or not. Plus that way I don't get my hopes up.

It has to be random. they prob have a jar for each store with a piece of paper, written on it is an order number. they pull one out and ship it out.

i ordered mine on 7/12 and haven't gotten a single email yet.

At my location, 2 people I know ordered the WHITE 16GB have flipped from being backordered to not being back ordered. She ordered hers on Monday, me Tuesday. We ordered from the Victoria,TX location and it seems people are getting theirs from Memphis and Fort Worth.

EDIT: There are also people who ordered their phones on Saturday and the tracking system shows that they can pick theirs up today. There were only around 80 ordered from Friday through Tuesday, when I ordered. There are a few people between the lady who ordered her white 16GB and my white 16GB order that show the phone is still back ordered, I'm guessing these people are black 16GB orderers.

Where is the order number stated?

On my receipt it has an "Order ID" which starts with 3 letters, not numbers. Is the order number in the confirmation email? I haven't received that either. BTW, I ordered the phone last Saturday.

Update: I talked to AT&T customer service. They are clueless. The person I talked to can't find any status on the order and said I just have to wait for a confirmation email AFTER it ships. Based on the posts in this forum, this is not true. Sounds like I should have gotten an email a while ago. Lovely. I'll be lucky to get an iphone in the next month. AT&T is a POS company.

I see a lot of people saying they are #23 or whatever on their store list. How are you checking this? As far as I know the only order status page is the one on AT&T's website and that one doesnt tell me where I am in line.

Tacoma not feeling the love

Having been a lurker on these forums for a while I signed up to comment on this thread alone. I'm primarily a Windows user both privately and professionally. I've been watching Apple products closely since the switch to Intel and I've seen the hardware outperform capable laptops and desktops since the switch.

The iPhone will be my second Apple product, sporting an 80gb Classic iPod for now.

This whole iPhone process has been a mess by AT&T primarily, but I blame Apple for withholding stock from AT&T more than anything.

I ordered my 16gb Black iPhone from the local Tacoma AT&T store on Saturday 07/12 at 1:37pm. I found out through online forum postings that buying the iPhone in the Apple store would be difficult even if i braved the lines, which I was not interested in doing.

A call to the Southcenter Apple store confirmed that because I am an authorized user on our family plan connected to a Fan # (Spouse signed up through work to get discount which I read is pretty common for many iPhone customers.) the Apple store could not handle the upgrade process and I had to go to an AT&T store to get my phone.

Enter AT&T in Tacoma. I won't out my sales rep but let's call him "Mr. Slick" cause that was clearly the image he was trying to project. Mr. Slick appeared pretty proficient with the different phones we went through as upgrades for the other lines on our account, but this person should never open his mouth about the iPhone and instead he needs to put on his listening ears when taking down customer information.

I knew this would be a long process when he started off stating it would be months before they saw any iPhones and that ordering them would take months to arrive. Whether this will pan out we have yet to see. He changed his story so many times I decided to not listen to him and placed my order. Had I known the white iPhone was less popular I would have ordered that instead of the black, but Mr. Slick was not one to share information. Maybe that is why he never offered me the expedited shipping option or maybe he was one step ahead of his fellow co-workers.

I heard another associate quoting the 7-10 business days to a customer behind me and demonstrating some of the features of the phone. By this point Mr. Slick is asking for my information and I thought he was paying attention. I had to repeat my last name 4 times, spelling it out twice and even then when I got the receipt in hand he had obviously completely butchered it inserting letters I believe was never uttered. (My last name is not that hard to spell, write or pronounce and has not been a problem so far.)

Seeing as I've never received an e-mail since the order was placed it's pretty clear he didn't get my e-mail right either, which did not include my last name or any exotic combination of words. Oh well, the survey he was so eager to mention I had to put 5 on will hopefully be presented to me soon.

I'm leaving out the details where I got home and realized the genius had not given me the SIM cards for my wife and son's phones that he showed me in store and kept on top of the boxes. So I ended up making the 20 min trip back to retrieve those standing by the counter while he spent 20 minutes flirting with 2 girls ahead of me who then exited the store without buying anything.

So to make a long story even longer I used the wonderful software linked here to scan the store for orders and list what was ordered and what was shipped. I'm pretty sure I won't see my iPhone from the launch batch of phones. 210 total orders from this store, 30 have shipped and the highest order number shipped was ordered Friday 07/11.

I'm not worried. I will get my phone and I will enjoy it. I will however not return to the Tacoma AT&T store for any purchases once my iPhone arrives and has been activated. I know sales people have a way with words, but incompetence is no excuse. :(

Use that, it shows all the people who ordered around you and gives you your "queue number." Even though it isn't very true, seeing as how people that ordered after me already had their phones shipped.
