Did you order to have one shipped @ ATT store?

Just to inform ya'll.

Ordered 10:42 AM at AT&T Store in Atlanta. I was the the 6th DF Order there. Since then at least 50 orders of non-16GB Black had been shipped. However, mine just shipped out of the Texas warehouse. It will be here on Monday. Mine was 16GB Black btw.

I'm kind of pissed that I get to enjoy my entire weekend without the phone, but I'm sure it's a better situation then some of you...sorry. :(

Anyway, my order has been switching back and forth for the past 7 days and it seemed like this day would never come. Still, for you Black 16GB people, I was only the 3rd order at my place to get a 16GB black..so unless you ordered around 11am EST, you might be waiting a few more days.

Another note: I have yet to receive an email with tracking information.

Wonder why they are not doing Saturday delivery.

Just checked my spot ... seems my store (that had roughly 100 orders on Friday) has most of the Friday orders cleared out. My guess is people who ordered a 16GB black on Saturday should be getting theirs middle of next week.

Sucks because I'm on that boat.

I called FedEx to see if I was going to get mine on Saturday and they said that it would be an extra $12.50 because our shipping is Standard Overnight (Next Business Day) ... and they don't count Saturday as a business day.

I'd pay it if I were you. 12.50 isn't too much and then you'll have your phone all weekend.

Just called FedEx back to see if I could add the $12.50 because I would definitely do that. But... I can't. The lady said the zip code it's being shipped to only allows Mon-Fri delivery :(
 
I ordered Jul 14th around 8:30pm ET the 8 GB. Still not sure when I get my phone, but techincally it's only been 4 business days. My friend who order the same day but the white 16 GB got her's yesterday and from peoples post it appears anyone who bought the 8GB or the 16GB in black has a longer wait. I am happy to know that once it ships it will only take a day.:D

FYI I talked to the manager at the local AT&T(he ordered my phone) They are currently telling people who order now 10 to 21 business days (I was told 7 to 10 business days) He also told me that they have yet to receive any shipments in of iphones for sellable stock to walk in customers like they had recently thought was going to happen. He said he's not sure why this is but would have to assume the reason is that they received more DF then was predicted. He also told me the local Apple stpre received at least 200+ phones (he apparently help apple on Friday and Saturday and said it was crazy) where his store only got forty. The manager was really nice and appeared to be just in the dark as everyon else as to what is really going on. I work retail so I can understand when your company is not telling you anything. I can be really frustrating especially for the ones that really care about their customers.

Well like all of you I will be playing the waiting game....
 
Like so many other in this thread I ordered the 16gb black iPhone. I'm not upset that I'm waiting. I was told 7-10 business days from the manager when I called to check on my order despite what the initial clerk told me.

I'm actually expecting to fall into the 10-21 days category for ordering the black 16gb and that's fine.

What I have a problem with is the system they use to ship out the phones. If they had fulfilled orders as they came in they would have covered most orders from Friday and Saturday by now but instead they are fulfilling orders from days after that and completely at random unless I'm missing a pattern here.

The fact that people who were some of the first to order DF on Friday have not gotten their phones yet is mind boggling.

I really want to thank redsoxunixgeek for publishing his script that lets you create a RSS feed to track your ATT iPhone order status.

Since I don't play "World of War-Crack" and am pining for my iPhone like so many others, I started doing some research on my own to see if it will actually take the supposed 10-21 days for direct fulfillment orders.

In following another post which mentioned that you could add or subtract from your order number to see where your order might stand in comparison to others, I spent a little time charting the number of direct fulfillment orders placed at my local store. I determined that ehere were 63 orders placed before I ordered my iPhone on Monday afternoon.

You can view the spreadsheet on Google Docs at the link below, which I'll continue to update, but here are the figures at the present:

1 DF shipped to my store on 7/13
14 DFs shipped to my store on 7/14
10 shipped to my store 7/15
2 shipped to my store 7/16
1 shipped to my store 7/17
2 shipped to my store 7/18

It's still too early to draw any conclusions from these stats. Two things I think we can assume are: 1) ATT stores get SOME iPhone DFs on a daily basis, and 2) there was a big spike on Monday & Tuesday. This might be the same case for next week.

Things are looking better!

Just wanted to check in that I've gone from #43/#44 in line to around #14 since Wednesday. Now that the system has caught up, looks like there were more shipments yesterday than it appeared yesterday evening.

I have hope that my 8gig and blk 16gig should be shipped by early to mid next week (barring any major supply chain snafus).

Keeping my fingers crossed!

P.S. Ordered Saturday 7/12 at around 2pm EDT...
 
White iphone ordered on tuesday morning just got delivered to the store.

I wonder how long I need to wait before I walk over there!

FedEx delivered at 2:24, i called the store at 3:20, they said they didn't have it. how can that be???

got a name of the person who signed and everything, i am not going to be around this weekend....
 
Mine shipped today! Should be here tomorrow!

Is there anything I should look out for (screen issues, getting ripped off, etc)?

I'm glad you're finding it useful. If you have any suggestions on way to improve it feel free to PM me. I'm open to any and all ideas.

I'm considering adding some simple statistics to it to aggregate some data but it would only be as accurate as the variety of people who use the program. Clearly most people querying it would be looking for the status of orders they haven't received so any distribution would be skewed towards the "ATT is doing a horrible job" side.

Shipping Priority Overnight to KC

I like so many other people on this thread have been watching the shipping status of my 16GB Blk like a hawk, and I just noticed a few interesting things that I haven't seen mentioned previously:

- They are shipping a whole bunch of iphone 16GB black to my store in Kansas City today 10+ (I don't think we had received any previously, though). Keep in mind these are all phone put on DF last Friday
- Second they are shipping out 1-2 units about every hour (previously there has only been a slew of them at one spurt)
- Now for the really interesting observation. Some of the tracking numbers show Overnight Priority which means that those lucky people will be getting their phones tomorrow before closing (the phones that shipped out this morning before 6 am were all sent out Standard Priority with a delivery date of Monday, too bad for them)

I don't know how other people's stores compare, but it looks like they are finally shipping these phones out like they actually mean it now. I thought I would just share that as I tear my hair out in anticipation for my phone (ordered 16GB blk Sat morning 10am CST)

I asked the guys at the ATT store yesterday and they said that they hadn't received any 16GB blks up to that point. I am making the assumption that they are shipping a bunch of 16GB blks to the people who bought their phones on Friday based on the fact that there are 20 people behind me in line that have already received their phones. I would expect that they experienced the shorter wait time because they got an 8GB or 16GB white. Unless the shipping order is really screwed up and people that ordered a 16GB blk on wednesday are getting their phone before the rest of us, I think my assumption is pretty safe. But at this point it is only that, an assumption.

Funny Thing

I just checked my bank account.. Did anyone else have there money refunded to them from the AT&T store.. The hold they put on my account isn't on there anymore. I wonder if that means it will be a longer wait..

I ordered a 8gig on Friday and then changed to a 16blk on Monday. So I have to Order IDs to watch. Even though one shows canceled the back-order flip still shows on the order. I also know the person next in line to me on Friday ordered an 8gig. So watching the order status page and when orders have their back-order flip I've deduced with reasonable certainty what model an order is.
Some orders are going out before others. This, I believe, is because they're businesses and/or were given the option to priority ship.

Authorization holds only last so long then they expire. ATT will no doubt request a new hold for their $ in no time. Independent of your order.
 
so i finally call the at&t main number. and they tell me they recommend that i go to the nearest apple store that there is nothing they can do. what kind of customer service is that? they tried to call the store and were "shocked" that for some reason no one was answering the phone there. this whole situation is ridiculous. the only upside is that i dont currently have a plan with them that im paying for while having no phone.
