OK. I'm getting more excited. I'm still on backorder but I jumped another 6 places in the last hour! Now I'm under 50 at #46.
There are only 7 orders from 7/15 now and 9 from 7/16.
Make that #41, I'm at 41 now. Holy crap! Now I'm almost positive I'll get my phone next week!

It totally seems ridiculous when people who've ordered on the 15th and 16th are already having their orders filled.
I ordered a 16GB black on 7/14 and it just shipped Friday @ ~10PM. Too bad it won't be here till Monday. All the orders shipped during the week seem to have a 12 hour turnaround time from shipping to arrival. Keep the faith my friend, you'll get it eventually and it will be magic.
Ordered the 8Gb black iPhone on 7/18 in the evening. Received email from AT&T at 5:36 and change on the following Monday evening saying that it was on back order and that they'd send an additional email when it ships.
As of today, I've still yet to see the email stating that it shipped. I have no clue as to where I'm at in these queues people keep referring to. Guess it'll arrive at some point.

Check about 5 pages or so back if your curious about queue numbers. You're in the same boat as me (except I ordered 16GB). We should get ours next week. I ordered the morning of 7/18 and my email never stated that it was backordered. It just said it was reserved and they'd email me when it ships.
Two friends of mine were told that they received their shipments today so some stores got them in late today
Does anything happen on the weekends? Do they ship on saturdays? or we have to wait till monday for some more action
Checking the order status at my particular store, it looks like they've been shipping out on Saturdays.
Last weekend my store shipped 20 phones on Saturday and 9 on Sunday - I hope they pick up the pace a little this weekend with so many backorders pending and since I'm #99 in the queue!
If it is like mine: 7/14 is the day you bought it when the inital pre-authorization was made
7/25 means your iPhone is ramped to ship and the authorization charge will hit your card at midnight for your phone - this means your iPhone is going to ship on the 25th and you should have it the next day.
(this is what happened with mine - individual results may vary with use)

The queue checker is up and running again - moved up 42 spots yesterday! However, I'm still #78 in line - fingers are crossed they keep up this pace and it will ship by Monday.
I woke up this morning and my 16gb black had finally shipped! I had ordered it on 7/15 and they said it could take up to 21 days. But, looking at the tracking, its supposed to be delivered by 3 pm on monday. That would make it a day less than two weeks after I ordered it. I think direct fulfillment is the way to go, its better than scouting out apple stores constantly and waiting in lines and all that hassle. I liked just ordering it and two weeks later getting it.
I was exaggerating a little bit
Now I confine myself to three times a day - morning, afternoon, night. It is good to see the queue is finally moving. I am now #8!
I just checked and i'm number 183 in line at my store for my black 16g
anyone have any guesses as to how long it's gonna take for mine to get here?
When I ordered mine around Noon on 7/19, I was at #188 in the queue - as of this morning I'm at #78, so it looks like they'll be able to get it to me in the 10-12 day range as promised.
Ordered 7/18, currently at #29. Went up 16 places yesterday, 2 so far today. 8gig black. It looks like I'll get it early next week, since 8gigs are shipping even when 16gig blacks aren't, so I'll probably be shipped before a good amount of people in front of me.

Holy crap! I was #45 when I went to bed last night (a jump of 33 spots) and today I'm sitting at #31 already (a jump of 14). 47 places in a day and a half! Nice.

The queue seems a little off though. I wonder where the warehouse is because technically only two have shipped on 7/26, but I went to sleep at 3:15 on 7/26. Maybe it lags a bit?
