I've read a few posts here and elsewhere on the web with people not going for this because there's no DVR.

What's the difference if you don't have DVR about they allow you to watch the previous shows on demand? I understand if some shows aren't available but people have been dismissing this since before today without all the details.

I'm fine with on demand. I think the main thing I'd want DVR for is sports... where I can set the DVR to record a football game at its set time, and then start the DVR recording 30min-1hr later and fast forward through commercials... or if I know I'll be busy for the first 30min-1hr of the game, it's nice to start it at the beginning than tune in live. And if the game is on demand, it likely won't be available to watch till the next day and I'm not a fan of that.

EDIT to say: does VOD on these streaming services still include commercials? if that's the case, then DVR is the only way to go. My wife and I never watch our shows live so they are always on the DVR ready for us to watch... and we can skip commercials too.

Yet they don't tell you what is in HD or not. The same crap Vue pulled on me too when I signed up for TeenNick which they don't carry no more but they did have NickToons in HD. The only channel on Sling.TV I can find that is not in HD is Boomerang because they really don't have a HD channel.

So the $35 limited time offer for the $60 package. How long does that go for? Do you lock that price in for good?
I wonder too. Especially when they add the CBS channels like Local CBS and SpikeTV and they will eventually have too.

I paid in advance to get the free ATV, but the Now app still says I don't have any subscriptions. WTF!

Just an FYI after speaking to a representative on chat.

Multiple streams: 2 max, don't have to be on the same network, presumably this includes mobile streams. In order to get more, have to sign up more than once, no way to buy "extra streams" like with Netflix.

Data usage: Unmetered on AT&T Internet (U-Verse & Mobile)

Recommended bandwidth per stream: 3 Mb/s recommended for HD (I'm guessing double for 2 streams). Channels are in HD.

DVR: No solid info for now. Can rewind within a channel (or watch past shows) up to 72 hours previous.

CC (Closed Captioning): Should work as expected.

Ok I have a question. Will the app be available on the Apple TV 3? I have one of those already so if I get the free Apple TV4 for the main TV then I will have the other one for the bedroom that will be used less.

I think you do lock in that price. My next billing is April 7th for $40 (Go Big offer price w/ HBO) and not the $60 regular Go Big price so I really hope that's the case. It's a hell of a deal to jump on it early. Not sure how long the limited offer price goes on for though.

Yes, I understand. The problem I have is that I can pay nothing to no one, and plug in an antenna and watch those channels. If I pay for my TV service, all of a sudden I can't watch those channels anymore unless my provider forks over a boatload of cash to the affiliates. That should be full on illegal. You are either a free service, or a premium provider, they shouldn't be allowed to cherry pick from both when it best suits them.
Exactly. Not to mention, there's no service out there that matches the quality of an OTA stream.

Anyone that went through the process know if you can get both the Apple TV free (if you sign up for three months upfront) AND the 100 channels for $35 or are those exclusive deals?

I'm getting both. And that $35 deal is permanent as long as I keep the package.

No SSO and very limited TV apps to use your login info for as well they are charging me 14% in taxes for each month...no thanks.
Obviously that is going to change/improve. DirectTV already works for SSO, it won't be long before DirectTVNOW does too.

The generations prior to the Apple TV 4 do not support apps, so no.

I would be shocked if it was ever ATV3 compatible. Remember, adding a "channel" to the ATV3 is actually a full OS update.

You can, of course, AirPlay to your ATV3.

How in the world do you sign up????? SO frustrating. I click the "Start your free trial Now" button and keep getting directed to a page saying "Where in the world is your storage?". WTF is with that? My Safari preferences are set as directed, but for the life of me, I can't find where the hell to sign up for service....

Any help is greatly appreciated.. Thank you in advance.

Confirmed, you can both get both the Apple TV for free and $35/month 100+ channels, just signed up.

HOW???? I keep refreshing page, and every darn time I click "Sign up for free trial" I am redirected to "where in the world is your storage" page. Fricken stupid. How are you guys signing up? I am obviously not doing something right. Any help would be appreciated. Don't even see a help link on the damn page.

Try a different browser, I had to use chrome. Or, use the iOS app.

How much are your taxes on that?

Dude, calm down. Have you tried another browser? What link are you getting on the redirect? Post it here.
