Ah yes, because that's a good idea to increase your prices right after a lot of people gained yet another reason to cancel. TBH, you're better off these days either buying Blu-Rays/DVDs of what you want and ripping them to your personal Plex/Jellyfin server or just sailing the high seas. If anyone wants cheap discs though, check your local garage sales/FB Marketplace. You can usually get a bunch of older content for really cheap.

Already cancelled a few years ago. No content i watch on it. I own any movies that were any good on it.

There is going to be a comeback of physical media, I'm looking forward to it.
I’m still a disc fan. I pay once and don’t have to worry which service has the current rights to it.

I grow increasingly annoyed at the streaming apps that force you to scroll past what they want you to watch so that you can get to what you want to watch.

Wonder why the Disney Hulu (no ads), which is what we have, stayed at $19.99? It's 9.99 with a $10 monthly rebate on my AMEX.

I'd cancel if the kids didn't watch it. I'd be perfectly happy with free content on Pluto, Roku and OTA.
my kids never watched it..lol I'm not sure any did besides during covid and content was being made. Now no one wants to spend money making content. Marvel dried up. Star Wars got really bad too. I thought Hulu app was going away. Not that i watch it either. It's easier to buy a series or movie on itunes. That said, the crown for worst streamer is still apple tv+. How anyone pays for it is beyond me. Even free forever no one watched it.

Can't think of anything I want to watch on Disney. I'm not the target market, but I got hulu with it for like $4 a month for 3 months not long ago. Cheap enough to watch and enjoy Alien: Earth.
i keep going for the Hulu black friday promo every year. usually about $.99/month or $1.99/month. only to keep watching King of the Hill. I still have "free" HBO Max with my At&t line which i'm sure will keep going up.

If I didn’t get my Hulu for ‘free’ with T-Mobile, & Disney+ for a dollar, I’d cancel it. I rarely watch anything on either of them. I still enjoy  tv+ and HBO for most of my streaming content.

Something has to be done, there's just way too many bloody streaming services now, and they all now cost quite a bit of money. Why the hell can't they all get together and come up with a single damn service at an affordable price. If they pulled their heads together this could drastically reduce piracy once again, piracy will never die, but this I bet would take a big chunk out of it.

I'd love to only have to subscribe to one service and have all my content in one simple place, and another thing they need to do is stop removing content and then maybe add it back later, this so annoying.

The best thing about running my own Plex server is the content is always there, it never gets deleted, prices never change, and I can stream wherever the hell I want anywhere on the planet, on any device I want. Companies have done this to themselves.

If they kept price low without ads the people will come, all they've done is drive them away.

It’s just getting ridiculous-I know things go up, but it’s just greed. I rarely watch anything on Disney-Alien Earth is the most recent, Andor just before. Not even really sure my children watch it a lot any more to be honest. If they hike it again in the UK I think that’s me done too. I’ll see out Alien Earth and then I’ll just cancel.

Don’t see the value…definitely moving towards owning my own content again. Canceling when my month ends.
Same. I've been paying for the annual as it was dirt cheap until the last price hike and now this just isn't going to fly. I definitely don't get enough use out of this, or most streaming services for that matter, to keep subscribing. For many of us who no longer have kids we're entertaining and TV/ movie watching is an occasional activity, it's cheaper to just rent/buy what we specifically want to watch.

Jimmy + Price Increase = What? One has nothing to do with the other. Disney said they were increasing prices on Aug 7, 2024, during their earnings call. What should be more interesting is that this is the third year that they increased prices in October. At this rate by 2030 the price will be $50 a month.

We're quickly reaching "just buy your favorite movies on blu-ray and save" pricing.
Seriously, this is an almost 20% increase in just a year

I’ve already started, I have a growing blu ray collection, plus a few things I’ve bought from Apple, which I never thought I’d have or want. Physical media just keeps getting more and more appealing, for a variety of reasons
