I suspect the 13 Pro will be more of an S, much the way the 12 Pro was over the 11 Pro. If that is indeed the case, I’ll hold on to my 11 Pro one more year. Just replace the battery, and upgrade to the Watch Series 7 instead. The rumored design change and getting a watch with cellular service is more exciting this year.

At this point in time over a year away I wouldn’t put to much credibility in these rumors

Again this phone should have been released for 2021 and not 2022. Why do we have to wait a whole year as Samsung and many other Androids have enjoyed all of these features and designs for the last 3-4 years?

These guys are ALL full of s... They sit around and make up stuff, and once in a while they get it right enough that people believe them.

It is so easy to make predictions and say it is from an unnamed source. Big f...... deal. They have NO secret connections, they just make it up...

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
Let us make a prediction about iPhone15. On second thought, why stop at 15? Anyone with half-decent photoshop skills? :)

The timing on all of these are suspicious, as though someone is trying to manipulate Apple stock.

If you say this enough times every year, it will eventually come true.

Apple just needs to ditch Face ID. Years later and it's still not great technology on my 12 Pro (I still have face scans fail and I have turned off requiring attention). This is especially true during a global pandemic that will likely be around for years. What's wrong with just picking up your phone and having it unlock because you're holding it? Just make the entire display Touch ID compatible. Face ID has always felt gimmicky to me. Sure, it's secure, but it's not the ideal way to use it. Then we don't have to worry about all of these compromises with under display areas that don't look right and are probably going to be expensive to engineer and manufacture.
Totally agree. FaceID has been inconsistent on my X, and still is on my 11. TouchID was 100%. It is intuitive as you point out while I find FaceID intrusive, gimmicky.

You better have good vision; otherwise, you'll hate it.

I used to have the SE, and went with the Pro Max. Now I have a Pro, and only because it was free. But my next phone has to be a Pro Max.
Or have normal to poor vision. The SE isn’t the mini. The 12 and 12 pro are way to big for use that requires one to go outside. If you leave your phone on a desk all day it’s good enough, but for anyone who wants a phone will all day battery that isn’t a pain the mini is THE option. The only issue with the mini is that Apple won’t pair it with flagship hardware. So if you want a phone with the best stuff you have to save I’ve being able to use it comfortably.

What's wrong with a phone having a "forehead", apart from not looking futuristic? I would much prefer if Apple and other phone makers would concentrate their efforts on making phones with display sizes that make one-handed operation possible [again].

There’s no argument here, a tiny little almost invisible punch hole is worlds better than the giant notch, this isn’t opinion. The fanboys will all say it’s the best thing ever once Apple finally makes one and they get to use it, mark my words.
And yes, it is pretty amazing, maybe in a year, or two, or three ya’ll will find out.
Besides the fact that this IS an opinion, some would say a large notch that fades into the bezel, not noticeable when using, is better than a hole punch that has unusable pixels on the other side of the hole punch, making it more noticeable during use.

If I'm paying $1200 for a phone it better look futuristic.

I'd like an iPhone minus faceid, ispyware and siri plus headphone jack and 25W charger in the box.

And all that time iPhone users enjoyed industry leading performance, which nobody has caught up to yet

It is easier than under panel cameras though.
LOL. Huh? FaceID also has a camera module.
This is just BS. Simply a blogger BS to get attention or maybe manipulate the stocks a bit. Samsung barely could do under display front facing camera. Trying to have a boat load of sensors AND a camera is another. Pure BS.

This makes a lot of sense. The main problem with under display cameras is the ghosting artifacts. Who really cares if 3D model captured by FaceID has some artifacts as long as its secure.
You do realize that the FaceID module is also the iPhone's front facing camera.

Form for the function. If a phone has no other sensors other than a single lens camera, obviously a punch hole is better than having a notch of wasted space. But considering the notch on iPhone is actually functional, containing a slew of sensors, it's a wash. Both ways are acceptable for their intended purposes.
