Do you feel that SE is inferior product to the 6S?

Inferior? on the contrary, its the best iPhone ever - small, light and powerful !

To keep the price down they cut few unneeded corners from the 6s, but kept the important ones (A9 & 2GB RAM)...

For me I think the smaller size and (IMHO) nicer aesthetic design make it the superior phone. It's not all about the tech specs, unless you have a specific reason why it has to be.

Not if you want a 4.7 inch screen.
For the money you pay for a 64 GB SE, you only still are $50 short of getting even just the 16GB iPhone 6, and the iPhone 6 spec-wise is either the same or worse in every way except for the screen. Half the speed, 1 GB of RAM vs 2 GB in the SE, 8 MP camera vs 12 in the SE, but paying $150 more for the iPhone 6 vs. an SE of the same capacity.

It's a poor value. Not worth the better or bigger screen. Even if they were the same price it would be questionable.

The iPhone SE is the "Greatest Mix" of iPhone during the last four generations. Anyone who held onto a 4/4s should get this iPhone greatest hits collection. To me, the most inferior product is the 6/6 Plus is the most inferior product of the three tiered lineup because of the weaker processsor and 1 GB of RAM. Specifically the iPhone 6 model.

High - iPhone 6s / 6s Plus
Mid - iPhone 6 / 6 Plus
Low - iPhone SE (replacing 5s)

The specs of this bargain SE iPhone is closer to HIGH while being priced LOW. Now imagine if iPhone 7 / 7s come out? Then my intuition is true that the iPhone 6 / 6 Plus will age the worst since the iPhone 4. Because the iPhone 6 / 6 Plus should be discontinued and leave the SE right where it is at the low end after this September. Having 2 GB of RAM, this iPhone SE will be supported as long as the iPhone 6s / 6s Plus as long as Apple doesn't focus much software features with a barometer or Force Touch.

Most of the reason for me personally isn't about SIZE at all. I don't want to use this iPhone as my primary because "4 is too small to type on for me. I prefer Android and the silver Galaxy S7 edge will be my primary. But I mostly missed out on the 6 generation and the A9 chip is a bargain on this SE when the 6s/6s Plus cost so much. And the better design with the rear is back. The 6 generation is the ugliest since the 3G series. Anyone paying more for an iPhone 6 from 2014 or close to it than an iPhone SE is being a fooled because that to me looks like the weakest model and worst to age in the current lineup with the weakest SoC, no OIS, and 1 GB of RAM.

The iPhone SE is the s to the 5s or 6s mini in a better body. It is a BARGAIN DEAL. I don't see Apple replacing the SE model until September 2018 when Apple decides to discontinue the iPhone 6s model with the 7 series above it after September 2017.

Future lineups -

September 2016
High - iPhone 7 / 7 Plus
Mid - iPhone 6s / 6s Plus
Low - iPhone SE (replacing 6 / 6 Plus)

September 2017
High - iPhone 7s / 7s Plus
Mid - iPhone 7 / 7 Plus
Low - iPhone SE (replacing 6s / 6s Plus)

Apple doesn't need to replace the SE until September 2018 or March 2019. That's insane having a minimum three-year lifecycle. The SE will be the longest updated iPhone since the iPhone 4s. For anyone who loves compact phones, this should be your primary for the next three years and maybe last you until the next decade.

Main reasons for me - specs, value, longevity, better rear design

Size was never a reason for me.

But that's what is so great about it. I think you are underestimating how many people love not only the 4" form factor, but also the 5/5s design.

Oh I know people love the design of the 5/5s and want the smaller screen. I was one of them lol. But I've had my 5 for over three years, and my fiancé got the 6s when it out. I have the new phone bug. That, and the SE means that the older cases won't drop in price for whenever I get bored of the one I have.

I hate how Apple is continuously finding ways to use their current supply chain to expand product offerings. On the one hand it's a very smart business move to easily add profits but on the other hand there is absolutely zero innovation in the iPhone SE.

It wasn't mean to be an innovative product in the sense of new/better technology or something like that, but an updated version of the smaller model that is also more affordable.

I'm not sure the lack of innovation in this device matters. We'll see as time goes on, but I'm guessing Apple wants a strong lineup and keep some technology out of the SE reduces the price.

If this is apples plan, small, medium, and large I can see them updating the smaller factor around an "s" announcement. Of course all this remains to be seen.

They should really bring back a 3.5 inch phone with the design of an iPhone 4. Face, only Jobs knew what a good design is. Cook is just trying to play catch up to what android has had for years.

The old one wouldn't work at all on my beat up housewife/landscaper fingers.
I see, for some reason, it works fine for me, perhaps because I sit in front of a computer all day and not work with my hands.

Oh Jeez, I sympathize. I got up at 3:30. And not even to order Iphones. Don't worry I'll edit my post so your error doesn't remain. Have a great day despite the sleep deprivation!

How could there be when it's replacing a phone from 2013. You want innovation in a $400 iPhone?

I think it's the best iPhone in the current lineup, just a darn shame about the 1.2MP front facing camera. No 3D Touch is a worthy trade off for the much cheaper price point. No camera bulge is a real plus point in favour of the SE.

I've got myself a new Galaxy S7 and I find myself still really tempted by this new SE device.

This offering is so perfect for me. I have no problems at all with my 5s, it does everything for me that a phone needs to do and is the perfect size. My only complaint was that I purchased the 16g model and always wished that I had gotten the 64 instead. My contract is up at the end of November this year and I'm going to be able to buy essentially the same phone with a few updates and in 64g that I really want. I will be keeping my 5s as a backup in case of an accident with the new SE. Timing on this introduction is perfect for me!

I'm really tempted to upgrade my 32GB 5S to the 64GB SE. I love my 5S to death (except for its battery life that has seen much better days), and the SE is a sizable performance upgrade at a relatively low price.

I don't know how so many people are hating on the first generation Touch ID though. From clicking the home button to looking at my home screen takes one second on my 5S. Is ONE SECOND really that much of a problem for people these days? Cripes. I can see if you have trouble getting the older sensor to read your finger or something for physiological reasons, but if it's a matter of speed one second is nothing to complain about. Still way quicker than typing in my 12 digit alphanumeric password every time.

i would like too some data how people use their phones...

for a some reason i think people, who are switching from 6s to SE, use mostly their phones just for calling, messaging and listening rather than surfing, playing and movies and hence the small size fits to that purpose while other appreciate larger screens.

That descibes my usage exactly. On rare occasions do I use my phone to surf or to watch a quick video. I have an iPad that gets used for surfing, movies, and video. I tried the 6+ for a few days and I didn't care for the size. Moved down to iPhone 6 which helped but I really just want the smaller form factor for daily use.
